I enlisted four times! My former unit blacklisted me.

"Get lost! That's disgusting!"

Lin Xiaohui pushed away Wu Hanfeng's outstretched mouth, looking disgusted.

Wu Hanfeng was on the verge of tears. "Squad leader, do you not love me anymore? You're disgusted with me, I understand."

"After all, we've been apart for almost a year, it's normal that you've forgotten how good I was to you..."

Lin Xiaohui was stunned for a moment, then kicked Wu Hanfeng, yelling, "You bastard, it's been almost a year, and your mouth is still as foul as ever!"

"You're making me feel like I've abandoned my wife and children!"

Wu Hanfeng dodged the kick, chuckled, and came forward again. He then took out a cigarette, offered it to Wu Hanfeng with both hands, and said, "Old squad leader, have one."

"It's been almost a year, and your skills are still as good as ever!"

Lin Xiaohui chuckled and took the cigarette, but seeing the new recruits there, he didn't put it in his mouth.

Instead, he used his hands to grab Wu Hanfeng's arms, shoulders, and abdomen, saying, "I heard you not only broke the record, but you also started practicing hard qigong?"

"Looks like the training is paying off; my muscles are rock hard!"

"Not bad! You've made me proud."

Wu Hanfeng chuckled, "That's right, just look at who trained me! How could I be bad?"

Lin Xiaohui laughed and turned to Chen Zhiyuan, saying, "Little Chen, if your mouth were half as sweet as this brat's, you and Haibo wouldn't always be the ones getting beaten up while he's eating ice cream on the sidelines."

Chen Zhiyuan blushed. "Old sergeant, let's not bring up these old stories. My soldiers are still here."

"Hahaha... Okay, okay, I won't say anymore."

Meanwhile, the veterans in the rear ranks were happy and excited when they saw Lin Xiaohui, but most of them were afraid and panicked!

"We're doomed! That old devil is back! Our good days are over!"

"No way, that old devil was doing just fine at headquarters, why did he come back?"

"I can already foresee the hellish life that awaits me for the next year..."

Of course, there were also those like Zhao Yihang who didn't know who the sergeant was.

"What's going on? Who's that veteran? Even Brother Feng is so respectful towards him?"

"Yeah! Brother Feng is the kind of guy who doesn't even respect the regimental commander! He even treats the division commander like a Japanese soldier. Who is this old soldier?"

Zhao Yihang whispered, "Are you guys stupid? Didn't you see his rank? He's a fifth-term sergeant!"

Do you understand the value of a fifth-term sergeant in frontline infantry combat units?

Qian Kun, Ma Teng, and several other new recruits shook their heads slightly, "We don't understand."

"idiot!"

Zhao Yihang looked at them with disdain and explained, "A fifth-term sergeant must have at least sixteen years of military service!"

"Sixteen years! That's a length of military service comparable to that of a regimental commander! You could even say that while a regimental commander was still a cadet at military academy, he was probably already a squad leader!"

"Over the past ten years, you can't even imagine how many soldiers he has led, or how many key sergeants and officers in the entire regiment he has personally trained!"

"In frontline infantry combat units, without exceptional military skills and the ability to lead and train troops, it's impossible to even reach the fourth phase, let alone the fifth phase! And in the entire army group, there are no more than five fifth-phase personnel!"

"In the military, officers like company commanders, battalion commanders, and regimental commanders may hold higher ranks than sergeant majors, but when it comes to actual ability, leading troops, and fighting, they are no match for sergeant majors!"

"The prestige of a fifth-term sergeant in the army might even surpass that of the regimental commander and political commissar!"

"Even the regimental commander and political commissar might salute upon seeing this!"

"Look, the company commander and Brother Feng both call him 'Old Squad Leader.' It's obvious that he was the one who trained Brother Feng and the company commander when they enlisted!"

"And that captain, look, we all have to carry his luggage."

Upon hearing this, Qian Kun and the others all gasped in shock.

This was truly the first time they had ever heard of a sergeant who could outrank the regimental commander and political commissar in the military!

In their minds, Wu Hanfeng was already incredibly awesome!

Unexpectedly, there are even more formidable generals in the troupe than Wu Hanfeng!

While they were discussing, Chen Zhiyuan brought Lin Xiaohui to the front of the group.

Wu Hanfeng also returned to the team.

Chen Zhiyuan looked at the entire company and said loudly, "Now, let me introduce the veterans of our Third Company!"

"This is the man next to me, named Lin Xiaohui! A third-class sergeant, he has served in the military for eighteen years since enlisting!"

"He is truly a king among soldiers in our army group! In the past eighteen years, he has been awarded the Second-Class Merit Citation twice and the Third-Class Merit Citation four times! He has also received commendations from the regiment a total of eight times!"

"He's been a sergeant major in our 3rd Company for five years now. Two years ago, he was transferred to the battalion headquarters to become the battalion's sergeant major!"

These achievements left all the new recruits within a year of joining the army dumbfounded, except for the veterans who knew Lin Xiaohui.

The look in his eyes as he looked at Lin Xiaohui was filled with awe!

Two second-class merits and four third-class merits!

Many soldiers spend their entire military careers and only manage to earn a third-class merit, which is considered very good!

As for the Second Class Merit Citation, out of several thousand people in the entire regiment, no more than two people can receive it each year!

Lin Xiaohui alone earned five such merits!

What exceptional military skills one must possess to achieve such merit!

There might not even be a regimental commander or political commissar!
