Dragon Raja: Oh no! Lu Mingfei has been diagnosed with depression!
Chapter 79 Mingfei, I love you.
Arrival hall.
An elderly man with a full head of white hair rushed in, bumping into several young people who had come to pick him up in his haste.
The young man turned his head and glared at the old man. Just as he was about to question him, he met two cold gazes from two men in black suits.
One of them had a head of dazzling golden hair that framed a face like a Greek sculpture, and eyes of rare ice blue. Being stared at by such eyes made the young man feel as if he had fallen into an ice cave on a frozen plain.
The other person had a standard Asian face, wore sunglasses, carried a huge black duffel bag, and had a blank expression that revealed a hardness like stone. Even through the sunglasses, one could feel that the other person's gaze was as sharp as a sword.
The young man felt he was having the worst day ever, but faced with two men who seemed ready to pull out knives from their bags at the slightest provocation, he could only grit his teeth and apologize to the old man before quickly running to the other side of the hall.
Why did he apologize to me?
Guderian was a little confused. He had just confirmed with the staff that Lu Mingfei's flight wouldn't land for another half hour before he breathed a sigh of relief and turned to look at the two men in black behind him:
"And do you all really have to dress like this? We're here to pick someone up, not to assassinate someone. You're making us look like secret agents from a movie!"
"Didn't you say we should be more formal, Professor? This is my favorite outfit."
Caesar raised an eyebrow, glancing down at his attire: a bespoke suit, hand-painted leather shoes, not a single crease to be seen; anyone who saw it would secretly admire his taste.
"I think there's probably no more formal attire in the world than what I'm wearing."
This statement is quite arrogant, but it sounds reasonable coming from Caesar, because he was a guy who firmly believed that the best things in the world should belong to him, and he never bothered to hide his pride, because there was no need to.
Guderian opened his mouth, but couldn't find any words to refute it, so he looked at Chu Zihang.
"I didn't have any clothes that could be considered formal, so I borrowed one from Caesar, who told me it was the second most formal outfit in the world."
Chu Zihang said calmly.
Guderian then looked at Caesar.
"I can't just give him mine, can I?"
Caesar shrugged. "As an opponent, I've already been very generous by lending him my clothes."
Is this what I meant?
Guderian was even more bewildered, suddenly feeling that the principal had made a mistake by pairing the two of them together. Did he really expect them to cooperate well? This was akin to putting a lion and a tiger in the same cage, and perhaps later another creature, Lu Mingfei, who was neither a lion nor a tiger, would be put into the cage as well.
I just hope these three can get along well.
Guderian prayed silently, already anticipating how lively the next few days would be, and felt a little uneasy.
But he quickly became excited again. He didn't expect that after he sent an email to Lu Mingfei, Lu Mingfei would actually book the fastest flight back. This was undoubtedly a sign of trust in him!
He paced anxiously back and forth in the lobby, glancing up every now and then at the exit, practically wearing the name "Lu Mingfei" on his face.
Caesar was initially looking around the hall with the intention of experiencing the life of ordinary people, but Guderian kept walking back and forth in front of him, making it impossible for him to settle down.
"Professor, we can actually sit and wait over there. That flight won't arrive for another half hour. Even if you're in a hurry, you can't turn it into a rocket, right?"
Caesar said, "Besides, you haven't told us about this mission yet. You can't just send us to be your bodyguards and pick up a new student on the side, can you?"
"Didn't the principal tell you?"
Guderian paused for a moment.
"The principal sent us to China to assist you in completing an S-level mission, but he didn't tell us what the mission entailed. He just told us to follow your instructions."
Chu Zihang said.
"So that's what the principal told you?"
Guderian suddenly realized, scratching his head, "So it really does qualify as an S-rank mission."
"Could you call it that?"
Caesar sensed something amiss in Guderian's tone. "So, what's the mission?"
"Actually... our task is to pick someone up from the airport and then persuade a new student to join the academy."
Guderian's voice grew softer and softer, as if he felt the principal must have been drunk to send Caesar and Chu Zihang to be his assistants.
"Persuade a freshman to join the college? I had no idea Kassel College had become so friendly?"
Caesar sneered, "Given their usual practices, shouldn't they contact the Executive Department at a time like this and send someone to erase his memory?"
"This...this freshman is an outstanding and promising child. If possible, the academy will certainly try its best to recruit him into the school."
Guderian sighed. "That's why the principal sent the two of you here. Outstanding people always attract each other, and you two might get along very well."
"I get it, you want me to win him over with my personal charm, right?"
Caesar stroked his chin, and roughly understood what was going on.
Guderian hesitated, but Chu Zihang summed up the essence:
"So Caesar and I were just acting as bait."
Guderian silently gave him a thumbs up, but Caesar and Chu Zihang's expressions were not so good. They were regarded as elites in the academy, but now they had been reduced to being used as bait.
Clearly, in the principal's mind, this new student was far more important than them, and he was even willing to send two student council presidents to catch this big fish.
Caesar and Chu Zihang exchanged a glance and instantly understood each other's meaning.
Caesar abandoned his languid demeanor, unbuttoned his shirt to expose his exaggerated pectoral muscles, crossed his arms, and stared intently at the exit.
Chu Zihang's muscles were taut, and his back was straight as a javelin, like a long sword about to be drawn.
People passing by were frightened by this strange group and walked around them.
Guderian had no idea that his words had inadvertently brought Caesar and Chu Zihang together to prepare a unique welcome ceremony for the new students.
He had already heard the announcement that the flight was the one Lu Mingfei was on, and immediately his eyes widened as he stared intently at the exit, determined to rush over and give Lu Mingfei the most affectionate hug the moment he appeared.
"Mingfei! Mingfei! I'm here!"
Guderian waved excitedly. He had wanted to run over, but there were too many passengers, so he could only stand outside and wave to Lu Mingfei.
Lu Mingfei saw him too, nodded, and followed slowly behind the crowd.
Caesar and Chu Zihang were somewhat confused. Was this the freshman that the principal was paying attention to? But he looked like an ordinary young man, without any luggage and with his hands in his pockets, as if he were here for a vacation.
But they didn't let their guard down. The two exchanged a glance, then quickly turned to stare at Lu Mingfei, who was standing in the crowd.
As if sensing something, Lu Mingfei looked up and met their eyes.
The overwhelming pressure shot into their minds through their eyes. Caesar and Chu Zihang felt an uncontrollable urge to lean back and dodge. In fact, it was just a pair of ordinary eyes, but the eyes were pitch black. Through those eyes, they saw only a vast darkness, like a tsunami, about to engulf them.
What's even more bizarre is that Lu Mingfei actually laughed; he was smiling at them!
Caesar was silent for a moment, then turned his head and saw Chu Zihang frowning with a puzzled look on his face:
"What's wrong?"
"No, it's just that I felt like something important left just now."
Chu Zihang shook his head.
"Oh, I feel that way too."
Caesar sighed. "I feel my dignity slipping away; we've actually lost to a newcomer in a simple eye contact!"
"Strictly speaking, he's not a freshman yet; he hasn't enrolled in school."
Chu Zihang said.
"You'd better not say anything."
Caesar frowned; their tacit understanding lasted less than a few minutes before crumbling.
They watched together as Lu Mingfei walked towards them. Guderian happily ran up to him, but he couldn't give Lu Mingfei a heartfelt hug because Lu Mingfei pushed him away.
But Guderian was not discouraged at all. He cleared his throat, took Lu Mingfei's hand, looked at him affectionately, and said without hesitation:
"Mingfei, I love you."
This statement has the effect of a trial.
Lu Mingfei was stunned, as were Caesar and Chu Zihang.
A doctor who was frantically working on medical records at the hospital sneezed.
