Ruan Tang was dragged into the student council building by him.

The elevator doors opened, revealing a dark gray carpet covering the top-floor corridor, with several abstract paintings hanging on the walls on either side.

He pushed open the double door at the end of the corridor and led her into the private lounge.

Si Lin released her wrist and walked to the sofa to sit down.

Ruan Tang stood at the door, rubbing her wrist, which had been pinched red.

"Come here." He looked at her.

Ruan Tang walked over and stood by the sofa.

Si Lin crossed his long legs and looked her up and down. "Just now in the classroom, were you the one who asked He Qian to help you?"

"Yes."

"When did you become so familiar with the people in the Discipline Inspection Department?"

"Not familiar with her," Ruan Tang said.

"They just wanted a chance to curry favor with the deacons, and I gave them an excuse."

"You certainly know how to leverage opportunities."

Si Lin beckoned to her with his finger.

Ruan Tang took two steps forward and stopped in front of him.

The two were very close. Si Lin raised his hand, pinched her chin, turned her face to one side, looked at her neck, and then turned her back.

"Have you applied any medicine to the wound on your neck?"

"I applied it this morning."

"let me see."

Ruan Tang paused for a moment, then touched the ribbon at her collar with her fingers.

Si Lin reached out and untied the bow at her collar, the blue ribbon falling into his hand.

He brushed aside the stray hairs falling down her neck, revealing her snow-white skin.

The fingerprints had faded to a light pink, but they were still visible on her fair neck.

His fingertips touched her; the touch was smooth and soft, carrying the faint warmth of the girl's body.

"Does it still hurt?" he asked.

"It doesn't hurt if I don't touch it," Ruan Tang said in a soft, delicate voice.

Si Lin took out a tube of ointment from the drawer under the coffee table and unscrewed the cap.

He applied the white ointment to his fingertips and then pressed it against her neck.

The ointment was cool, while his fingertips were warm; the two temperatures alternated as he massaged it into her skin.

Ruan Tang shrank her neck slightly.

"Don't move." Si Lin pressed down on her shoulder, his thumb continuing to circle around her neck.

His fingertips, calloused, brushed against her delicate skin, sending a tingling sensation through her.

Ruan Tang lowered her eyes, her eyelashes trembled twice, but she still stood between his legs, obediently tilting her head back as he applied the medicine.

She simply clasped her hands together in front of her, her fingertips gently twisting.

Si Lin looked at her.

The girl's skin was so white it seemed to glow, and the lines of her neck stretched from behind her ears to her collarbone, long and delicate.

Her small face was completely unmade-up, with pure and clean eyebrows and eyes, and naturally tender red lips that were slightly pouting.

She stood there, looking both delicate and adorable.

"You're getting better and better at using the deacon's name," he said in a low voice.

Ruan Tang looked up at him. "You said I'm a member of the Deacon Team. As a member of the Deacon Team, I should use the resources of the Deacon Team."

Si Lin stared at her.

Every time he saw them, he would remark on how beautiful those eyes were.

Her pupils were very dark and bright, with slightly upturned corners, giving her an indescribable allure.

Yet her eyes held a pure gaze, the ultimate example of pure desire.

He had the urge to try her out again.

Si Lin spoke up, "I never realized you had such a hidden agenda."

"Isn't this nice?" Ruan Tang tilted her head, a gesture that made her look even more like a kitten.

"Young Master Si, you chose me simply because I'm smart, right?"

Si Lin didn't speak, watching her tilt her head and her pure yet alluring eyes.

Is this girl becoming less and less afraid of him?

She was still trembling when he grabbed her by the neck in the office yesterday.

Now you dare to talk back to him and ask him questions?

"Do you think I won't lay a hand on you again?" Si Lin asked.

Ruan Tang blinked. "Can you?"

The two people looked at each other.

"Give it a try," he said.

Ruan Tang said softly, "You choked me yesterday because I slapped your face."

"But everything I'm doing right now is for you, so why are you attacking me?"

Si Lin did not answer.

She raised her eyes, looking directly into his. "Young Master Si, do you think that because I'm your woman, I should obey your every word and not disobey you in the slightest?"

"Otherwise what?"

"I did not disobey you," Ruan Tang said.

"I hit Fang Zhaoyang because he was foul-mouthed, and also because he was backed by the resistance group. I let He Qian in because those nobles wanted to curry favor with the deacon group, and I gave them a chance. From now on, they will be the deacon group's eyes and ears in the disciplinary department."

"Everything I do is for your benefit."

She paused for a moment, then said, "You can't assume I'm disobeying you just because I'm not as afraid of you as I used to be."

Si Lin looked at her and slowly loosened his grip on the back of her neck.

The girl was telling the truth.

He was simply used to the respect of others and took a question as a sign of defiance.

Si Lin's hand slid down from the back of her neck and landed on her shoulder. "You're getting more and more talkative."

"That was because you indulged him." After saying that, Ruan Tang paused for a moment.

That's too intimate; it's not the tone a subordinate should use when speaking to a superior.

Si Lin was also taken aback for a moment, then he chuckled.

He rarely smiled, but when he did, the coldness in his eyes dissipated somewhat, and he seemed less intimidating.

"I spoiled you? When have I ever spoiled you?"

"You're applying medicine to my neck right now," Ruan Tang said, pointing to her neck.

"You came all this way to see me today, are you regretting what happened yesterday?"

Si Lin withdrew his hand, the smile on his face fading, and leaned back against the sofa armrest. "No, I won't regret it."

"I'm worried that if you have a mark on your neck, and the media takes pictures of it at the student council meeting tomorrow, it will embarrass me."

"Oh," Ruan Tang replied, her tone clearly showing disbelief.

She retied the ribbon he had untied, and tied a crooked bow at her collar.

Si Lin glanced at her. "It's tied crookedly."

"I don't know how to tie it." Ruan Tang looked down and saw that it was indeed crooked.

"come over."

Ruan Tang moved a little closer, and Si Lin reached out, untied the bow she had just tied, and re-tied it.

His fingers were long and slender, yet surprisingly skillful at this task.

The ribbon wrapped around his fingers twice, tying a neat bow.

"If you can't tie it in the future, just ask someone to help you," he said, withdrawing his hand.

"Who are you looking for? Are you looking for me?"

"Find Cheng Jin."

"Cheng Jin is a man, so it's inconvenient for him to be here."

Si Lin glanced at her. "Then I'll be free?"

"You're different," Ruan Tang said softly. "You're Young Master Si, it's an honor to trouble you."

Si Lin didn't reply. Of course he knew what the girl was up to, but what she said did sound nice.

He picked up the whiskey bottle from the coffee table, poured a glass, and pushed it in front of her.

"I don't drink alcohol."

"From now on, you'll have to learn these basic social etiquettes when you work with me."

"Drinking it might make you dizzy."

"If you faint, just sleep here. Nobody dares to come in."

Ruan Tang looked at the amber-colored liquid, picked it up, and took a small sip.

The liquor burned and choked her as it went down her throat. She scrunched up her face, coughed twice, and her fair cheeks flushed red.

The blush spread from her cheeks all the way to her ears, making her face look even more delicate.

"It tastes awful." Ruan Tang put down the cup and stuck out her tongue.

The tip of his tongue, a vibrant red, flashed briefly between his white teeth.

Si Lin's eyes darkened slightly.

He reached out and took the glass of wine from her, then drank the rest in one gulp, using the rim of the glass she had just drunk from.

Ruan Tang saw his movement, lowered her eyes, and pretended not to notice.
