"What do you mean now?"

A group of people sat huddled on the floor of the practice room, staring at each other blankly. A staff member, seemingly at his wit's end, asked this question from outside the room.

The selection process for You Youyou unexpectedly sparked a lot of discussion online once it aired.

This time, the production team specially assigned more people to their "Neon Confession" Group A, wanting to shoot more footage to be edited into the next episode's main program.

Unexpectedly, after the machine was set up and the batteries were almost dead, what awaited them was: Captain You Youyou, who was daydreaming all day; Su Xingran, who kept a mysterious smile and whose true thoughts were hard to discern; Lev, the foreign friend who was completely clueless; Ling Tinglan, whose expression was as bad as her temper; and Jiao Wangshu, who was almost melting in this awkward atmosphere.

The filming director was completely stunned. How could he be so unlucky as to be assigned to this group? His future was truly bleak!

Finally, it was Jiao Wangshu who tried her best to take the initiative and continue the conversation:

"How about we watch the entire demo the production team provided first?"

This wasn't just a casual remark.

Although everyone present had heard of the popular upbeat song "Neon Confession," hearing it and actually performing it on stage are two different things. Most people are probably only familiar with the chorus, but when the song was originally released, it had a complete choreography and a stage performance.

Sure enough, the problem was immediately apparent.

The choreography provided by the program team has actually changed a lot compared to the original version of the song. The new choreography has almost completely cut out the most difficult part, the fast dance with multiple people. The overall difficulty is controlled to a level that trainees of normal skill can basically master in about 1-2 weeks.

Of course, this is under "normal" circumstances.

The two "abnormal" "trainees" fell silent after watching.

Ling Tinglan threw the lyric booklet down and said, "You guys can divide it up, we can all take it."

Trying not to hold them back is the best they can do. They should just wait patiently for instructions since they don't know anything.

"Or we can choose the center position first."

Su Xingran suddenly made a suggestion while holding her face in her hands.

Upon hearing this, the cameraman's eyes lit up. Here it comes! The footage he needed has finally arrived! This is the most indispensable "battle for the center" scene in talent shows!

The camera is pointed upwards, not only to zoom in on the panoramic view but also to give each person a close-up shot, striving to capture every facial expression clearly.

Then fans can savor each expression carefully and become "micro-expression analysis masters".

As it turned out, this never happened; those who were daydreaming remained daydreaming, and those who were silent remained silent.

"Don't any of you volunteer?!"

Lev immediately waved his hand dismissively: "Don't vote for me! Don't vote for me!"

His self-perception is just like Ling Tinglan's appearance: he's a "cool guy".

But the difference is that Ling Tinglan was faking it, while Lev genuinely thought so and worked hard to achieve it.

Although his true nature doesn't even match the word "cold" in the slightest, Lev firmly believes that the song "Neon Confession" is extremely incompatible with his own temperament. Performing this song in the first round is already a huge "damage" to his image. If he is chosen as the center, it would be the ultimate social death in his eyes.

So no matter what, Lev won't fight for the center position.

Ling Tinglan and Jiao Wangshu knew their own limitations. They were just grateful to have successfully completed their performance on stage in the first round. They couldn't even be bothered to get the center position.

Then You Youyou would be even less likely to compete. It's reasonable to suspect that if he hadn't been chosen as the team leader, he would have waited until everyone had chosen before randomly joining a group.

Without a second's hesitation, everyone stepped back, pointed, and the center position was decided.

Su Xingran became the center of Group A in "Neon Confession" without any objection.

The director filming was scratching his head, thinking, "Your group is being way too peaceful!"

Shouldn't everyone raise their hands when choosing the center position, and then each person explain their reasons for being the center, and then argue with each other, even turning on camera, and so on, before finally choosing the center position?

With so little footage, what is he going to use to edit the main feature?

The filming director was simply "born at the wrong time." If he could have foreseen the future, he shouldn't be in this crew; he should be in the next crew.

Because at this very moment, the B group of "Neon Confession" next door is already fighting like a bloody mess over who should be the center.

As always, Li Shu was chosen for this group.

At 10 p.m., Ling Tinglan and Jiao Wangshu returned to their dormitory after a day of practice.

As soon as they pushed open the dormitory door, the two found Li Shu lying blankly on the bed, his big eyes staring at the ceiling, as if his soul had been emptied out.

"Are you dead?"

Ling Tinglan's words were astonishing.

Jiao Wangshu turned on the light, her face full of concern, but her words were equally earnest: "It looks like they've been gone for a while."

Looking at this "wicked couple," Li Shu couldn't help but feel a surge of sorrow.

Being roommates with two modeling freaks was already stressful enough, but now the song we're performing in the first public performance is the same one for both Group A and Group B. Seeing how radiant they are, and then recalling all the torment I've endured today, I feel even worse, and I immediately burst into tears.

"How could you two be so mean!"

"I got bullied by my group members during the day, and now I have to get bullied by the two of you when I get back... Waaaaah..."

Li Shuhao was panting heavily, not because he really blamed them, but because he was taking his anger out on them under immense emotional pressure.

Seeing that she had really messed things up, Jiao Wangshu was the first to react, apologizing while trying to appease the other party:

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, that's not what we meant."

Ling Tinglan was incredulous. He bent down, his handsome face close to Li Shu's, and asked in surprise, "You really cried?"

The two sat on either side of Li Shu, one gently comforting him, the other observantly handing him tissues.

A wronged "child", a gentle "mom", and a taciturn "dad".

At first glance, they really do look like a family of three.

From Li Shu's fragmented and vague narration, they finally understood what had happened to the other party.

It turns out that during the day, in the practice room of Group B of "Neon Confession", the team leader of this group was a contestant from South Korea, Song Se-jun, a trainee from NXS (Chinese translation: Star Entertainment).

Star Entertainment isn't a big company in South Korea, but "a small temple has a lot of evil winds, and shallow water has many turtles." This company sent three people to the audition this time. Song Shijun, who was selected as the team leader, naturally also selected the other three people into this group, and also selected another South Korean contestant, Zheng Huan.

Because this group had already selected three people from South Korea, Song Shijun, whether out of guilt or something else, insisted on choosing a Chinese contestant for the last remaining spot. After picking and choosing for a long time, he finally chose Li Shutou, who seemed to have a very good temper.

From the beginning, Song Shijun made his stance clear: he was the one who organized the event, and he wanted the center position.

But to everyone's surprise, the others said, "Who says that just because someone is the captain, they can be the center?"

Song Shijun's two teammates, one named Cui Chengxian, expressed his support, while the other named Quan Shangxun won over Zheng Huan, leaving only Li Shu, who was open to either way, caught in the middle.

A small team of five was split into three smaller groups; even the "Nine Sons Fighting for Yadi" had a more exciting plot.

Song Se-jun and Jeon Sang-hoon raised their hands high, neither side willing to give way. The key point was that the two were equally skilled, so it didn't really matter who took the center position.

Thus, Li Shu, who was being stared at by four pairs of eyes, experienced for the first time what it meant to feel like he was sitting on pins and needles, like he had a thorn in his back, and like he had a fishbone stuck in his throat...

"Since you'll be targeted no matter which side you choose, just go and be the center."
