Am I a Kamen Rider or the real young master who was switched at birth?
Chapter 26 Ye Yang's Foot Massage Technique
Ye Yang blinked, then said in a light tone, "It should be fine, after all, he taught me acupuncture."
Lin Xingran took a step forward, her eyes wide, pointed her finger at Ye Yang's nose, and said in a slightly raised voice:
"If you're so skilled, why don't you continue studying medicine? Your master is so amazing; he can teach you acupuncture and even cure poisons. If you master it, you might be able to heal your eldest sister with just one move."
Ye Yang was so overwhelmed by her barrage of questions that he leaned back and awkwardly scratched the tip of his nose.
"It's not that I gave up halfway—it's that my master said I wasn't skilled enough and wasn't cut out to study medicine. He said I couldn't sit still, and studying medicine requires being able to calm down. I couldn't stay on the stool for more than three minutes before I had to run away."
"So he taught me some basics, acupuncture, acupoints, bone setting... and then he sent me to learn other skills. Later, I learned to repair cars, right? That was after I left his place."
He paused, then a smug smile appeared on his lips.
"However, he said I have a skill that he taught me."
Lin Xingran's curiosity completely overwhelmed her earlier worry about her older sister in that instant.
She walked around from the foot of the bed to Ye Yang, tilted her head back, and looked at him with bright, curious eyes, asking:
"What is it? Is it something incredibly powerful, like being able to bring someone back from the dead with a single needle? Or knowing what you ate yesterday just by taking your pulse? That's how it's written in novels, the true teachings of divine doctors, those closely guarded secrets!"
Ye Yang shook his head and said with a serious expression, "I need someone to cooperate with me on this."
Lin Xingran didn't hesitate for even a second. She straightened up, then raised her right hand high, waving it excitedly in the air twice, "I'll do it! I'll do it!"
Ye Yang glanced around the ward. Lin Yumin was still lying in bed with an acupuncture needle in her hand, making her unsuitable as a demonstration subject.
Standing next to her second sister, Lin Ying noticed Ye Yang's gaze sweeping over her and instinctively took a small step back, lowering her head.
Su Wanqing and Lin Yuanshan stood by the window, their eyes filled with obvious confusion and curiosity.
Ye Yang's gaze eventually fell back on Lin Xingran.
He nodded and walked towards an empty bed for caregivers in the corner of the VIP ward.
He walked to the bedside, patted the sheets, and gestured for Lin Xingran to sit down.
Lin Xingran strode over and sat down on the edge of the bed, dangling her legs over the edge and swinging them around: "What are we going to do now?"
Ye Yang did not answer. He rolled up his sleeves above his elbows, revealing his two well-defined forearms.
Then he squatted down in front of Lin Xingran, raised his hands, and accurately grabbed her right foot. Then he gently twisted his fingers on her ankle and took off her sneakers.
The shoe fell to the ground with a soft thud.
Lin Xingran was wearing a light gray sock with a white lace trim around the top. There was a small hole at the big toe, just enough to reveal a bit of her toenail.
She hadn't expected this move at all. Her arms flailed wildly in the air, and she nearly tumbled off the edge of the bed.
"Aaaaah! What are you doing?!"
Ye Yang ignored him. He placed Lin Xingran's feet on his knees.
He then used his left hand to hold her ankle in place, and bent the knuckle of his right index finger, precisely pressing it against a spot on the outer side of the sole of her foot.
Lin Xingran sprang up from the edge of the bed in an instant.
She rolled halfway around on the bed, then fell to the side.
She buried her face in the pillow, muffled moans escaping from the pillow's gaps, a sensation of itchiness and pain shooting from the soles of her feet all the way to the top of her head.
She kicked her legs unconsciously and patted the bed haphazardly, almost knocking over the water bottle on the bedside table.
"Ouch—ouch ouch ouch ouch—stop pressing—it hurts—it's not just hurting—it's itchy—I don't know—let go!"
Ye Yang lowered his head and continued to rub his fingers in circles on the soles of her feet.
His brow furrowed slightly, his expression unusually focused, before he calmly analyzed, "Your stomach doesn't seem to be very good. Do you often skip breakfast and end up with stomach problems?"
Lin Xingran lifted her face from the pillow; half of her face was flushed red, and a few strands of hair were stuck to the corner of her mouth.
She was panting and said with some grievance, "Oh dear, sometimes I can't wake up in the morning, so I don't eat much breakfast, but I eat a lot for lunch."
Ye Yang nodded, and this time he changed the acupoint again.
His knuckles curled up again, this time rubbing the tenderest part of the sole of his foot.
As soon as Ye Yang's knuckles made their first rotation, her body shuddered as if she had been electrocuted.
She rolled over on the bed again, almost falling off.
She instinctively grabbed a pillow and threw it at Ye Yang.
The pillow hit Ye Yang on the head, then bounced and fell to the ground.
Ye Yang continued without looking up, "Your blood and qi are insufficient. Try to stay up less at night in the future."
Lin Xingran lifted her head from under the sheets, somewhat embarrassed and angry, and said, "I know! But my teammates are waiting for me tonight while we're playing games, I can't let them down. Are you done yet?!"
Ye Yang didn't finish pressing; this time he switched to the indentation on the inside of the heel.
He pressed deeply into that spot with the pad of his thumb, applying more force than the previous two times.
As he pressed, he tilted his head slightly, as if sensing some kind of feedback from the acupoints, and then his brow twitched slightly.
"Your kidneys aren't very healthy either. I'll prescribe some medicine for you later. Goji berries, mulberries, and dogwood fruit, boil three bowls of water down to one bowl, drink it once a day before bed, and it should help you recover in a month."
Lin Xingran sat up abruptly from the bed.
Her face flushed red. She had been touched on the soles of her feet in front of her parents and two sisters, and her younger brother, whom she had only known for less than two days, had even said in public that she had kidney problems.
"Hey! What are you studying?! Aren't you studying medicine?!"
Ye Yang looked up at her, blinking innocently. "Yes—this is my master's secret technique, the foot massage method."
Lin Xingran's mouth stretched out, and her chin almost fell onto the bed sheet.
She pointed at Ye Yang with her finger, her mouth opening and closing. Before she could even organize her thoughts, Ye Yang had already flipped her over.
He pressed one hand on her shoulder and used the other hand to precisely locate the acupoints on both sides of her spine on her back.
He started from the shoulder blades and pressed down inch by inch, his fingers like they had a built-in navigation system, precisely landing on the most sensitive and sore spots.
Lin Xingran lay on the bed, letting out a series of muffled groans.
Her hands were grabbing at the sheets haphazardly, her feet were kicking and thrashing about on the bed, and she looked like a fish that had been placed on a chopping board and was still struggling desperately.
"Stop—stop stop stop—wait a minute—hahahaha—I told you to stop—"
Ye Yang frowned slightly and said in a serious tone:
"Your back is a bit hunched. In the future, when you play games, you should pay attention to maintaining an elegant sitting posture. Don't slouch in your chair or lean on the table. Adjust the screen to eye level, and it's best to stand up and stretch every hour."
Lin Xingran turned her face out from under the pillow, revealing half of her face, which was slightly deformed from being pressed down, and a wide-open eye.
"What the heck—how did you know—"
"Let me correct it for you." Ye Yang placed his hands on her back and began to press on the acupoints on both sides of her spine with precision and speed.
Lin Xingran lifted her head from the pillow, her mouth agape in a wide "O" shape, and shouted in a pig-slaughtering tone:
"Waaaaah—Mom and Dad, help! Ye Yang killed someone—this is murder—his own brother murdered his own sister—aren't you going to do anything about it?!"
Lin Yuanshan stood by the window, his hands behind his back, silently turning his head to look out the window.
Su Wanqing covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes curving into two shallow arcs.
Lin Ying stood at the foot of the bed, her hands covering her mouth, her shoulders heaving.
Lin Yumin leaned against the hospital bed, watching her second sister being pinned down on the bed by Ye Yang and screaming in agony. A faint smile finally appeared on her lips.
After a while, Ye Yang finally let go. He patted Lin Xingran on the back and said with some relief, "It's done."
Lin Xingran lay motionless on the bed, as if her soul had been ripped away. After a long while, she said in a muffled voice, "All done? You're not lying to me?"
She carefully twisted her neck, first slightly to the left, then slightly to the right. Then her eyes widened instantly.
She sat up, stretched her shoulders back, and turned her neck, making two crisp cracking sounds as she did so.
She raised her arms above her head, twisted her upper body left and right, and then turned her head to look at Ye Yang with eyes full of surprise.
"Wow—it really doesn't hurt anymore. My shoulders were stiff when I woke up this morning, but now it feels like someone took two bags of cement off my shoulders."
Ye Yang sat on the edge of the bed and casually rolled up his sleeves again.
"Of course. I learned how to use these for Aunt Zhang. You know she's old and works so hard at the orphanage, bending over every day to wash clothes and clean the house for the children. Her back and shoulders often hurt so much that she can't move. Every time I massage her, she says it's more effective than taking medicine."
Lin Xingran stretched her shoulders, finding it increasingly amazing. She looked at Ye Yang, her eyes brimming with curiosity.
"So who exactly is your master? He's so amazing. He just casually taught you a little foot massage and you're already this good. Just how skilled must his medical expertise be?"
Ye Yang stood up from the edge of the bed but did not answer immediately.
He slowly walked to the window of the ward, then put his hands behind his back, turning his back to everyone in the room.
Sunlight streamed in through the window, falling on him and gilding his silhouette with a golden edge.
The sky outside the window is very blue, with a few white clouds drifting slowly in the distance.
He stood for a few seconds, then slowly began to speak: "When I left my sect, my master told me that I should never mention his name unless absolutely necessary."
Lin Xingran braced her hands on the bed sheet, her mouth slightly open, her mind racing with scenes from those novels about "reclusive masters," "sect prohibitions," and "secrets that cannot be revealed."
Her voice was lowered, and she said with a hint of solemnity:
"Oh—I see—you're afraid you'll leak sect secrets, right? You medical sects must have some closely guarded secrets that you're afraid will cause trouble if outsiders find out, right? Like in novels—"
Ye Yang turned to look at Lin Xingran, a somewhat naive smile on his face: "Actually—it's because I'm too bad at the game. He's afraid I'll embarrass him when I go out."
Silence fell over the ward. The solemn expression on Lin Xingran's face shattered instantly.
She stared at Ye Yang with her mouth agape, her finger trembling as she pointed at him.
Lin Ying covered her mouth, her shoulders shaking even more violently than before, and finally couldn't help but let out a very soft laugh.
Ye Yang turned around to face everyone. Sunlight shone from behind him, making his smile appear exceptionally bright.
"But don't worry—my master may be a bit unreliable at times, but his medical skills are absolutely top-notch. If he says he can cure it, he definitely can."
