Ye Yang led the three sisters through two narrow alleys, turned a corner around a wall piled with old flower pots, and suddenly the view opened up ahead.

A faded red lantern hangs outside a braised chicken restaurant, with the words "Braised Chicken" written on it. Next to it, below the signboard, there is a crooked line of handwritten words: "Our braised chicken has been selected as one of the top ten food rankings in Kowloon City."

A big yellow dog was squatting in front of the shop, lazily sunbathing.

When it saw Ye Yang coming over, it raised its eyelids and glanced at him, then weakly patted its tail on the ground twice as a greeting.

A large iron pot was set up at the entrance of the shop, and the soup inside was bubbling away.

Chicken and mushrooms simmer in a thick sauce, their aroma wafting far down the alley, enticing every hungry passerby to stop and linger.

Ye Yang pushed open the half-closed glass door with practiced ease, and the wind chimes on the door tinkled a few times.

As soon as he stepped inside, he heard a burst of rhythmic music coming from the shop, accompanied by the crowing of a few roosters.

Lin Yumin followed him in, pausing briefly on the threshold.

Her dark brown eyes widened slightly, and her lips moved, but she said nothing.

Lin Xingran was the last to squeeze in. She looked up into the store and froze at the doorway as if she had been put on pause. Her sunglasses had slipped halfway down her nose, but she didn't even bother to push them up.

The store's layout is very ordinary.

Inside, there were a few folding tables and plastic chairs, a faded menu on the wall, and an old television set in the corner.

At this moment, a talent show is playing on TV, and a rooster wearing black overalls is standing in the center of the stage on the screen.

Sitting in the audience were a husky wearing sunglasses, a snoring pig, and a sheep with its hair styled in a lazy, languid way.

It bowed deeply to the judges and audience below the stage.

Outside the television set, several chickens were perched in front of the screen, watching intently.

Each of those chickens was wearing a miniature black overall.

The fabric of the overalls reflected slightly under the light, the pant legs were neatly cut, and the straps were crossed and fastened under the chicken wings.

The largest chicken, which was leading the pack, was wearing a small wig with a middle parting on its head.

On TV, a young actor earnestly addressed the camera, saying, "Hello, everyone! I'm an individual trainee. I like singing, dancing, rapping, and basketball. Music!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the intro to "Chicken You're So Beautiful" started playing.

Several chickens simultaneously raised their necks, crowing in unison, and then began to dance along with the movements on the television.

The lead dancer, a chicken, spun around first, its overalls legs swirling in a smooth arc through the air.

Its wings flapped up and down on both sides of its body with perfect rhythm.

The chickens followed closely behind, lined up neatly in a row.

The wig-wearing chicken even did a powerful leaning move during the chorus, so big that it knocked its companion off balance, but it continued dancing the whole routine without flinching.

Lin Xingran's mouth opened into a big "O" shape, and her sunglasses finally slipped off her nose and bounced on the ground.

Lin Yumin stood next to her, her right hand unconsciously pressing on her temple, as if to confirm whether she was hallucinating.

Lin Ying blinked cutely, then rubbed her eyes, and blinked again.

The chickens are still jumping.

Ye Yang crossed his arms and leaned against the doorframe, saying with a hint of pride, "I trained them all. The one on TV too. It's the local celebrity chicken now."

"Last time, a cat from the next block came over to provoke us, so we brought our own dance troupe and performed a 'Iron Mountain Lean' routine, which scared the cat so much that it did a somersault."

The three Lin sisters turned to look at him at the same time. Lin Xingran, however, pointed at the chickens that were still jumping around.

Before she could say anything, Ye Yang waved his hand and said casually, "None of this matters, none of it matters."

Then he turned and walked towards the counter, but halfway there he turned back and pointed at the TV screen, adding, "Oh right, that chicken now has a fan club called 'Love Kun, Protect Kun.' The president is the auntie who sells tofu at the alley entrance."

The three sisters stood there, their minds simultaneously flashing back to the image of the tofu-selling auntie who could split a cutting board in two with a single knife, now chasing after a celebrity. Their mental state was severely damaged.

Behind the counter stood a man who looked to be in his fifties. He was wearing a white short-sleeved shirt, revealing his two muscular forearms.

His forearms were covered in tattoos of nine intertwined snake heads, each a different species of venomous snake, their scales and fangs carved with lifelike detail.

The hydra tattoo coiled from his wrist all the way to his shoulder, finally converging at his shoulder into a ferocious serpent king, as if it might burst out of his skin at any moment to devour someone.

The man was wiping the counter when he heard the wind chimes ring. He looked up at the doorway and a faint smile appeared on his face.

"Hey—isn't this Ye Yang, always learning new skills? Long time no see." The boss draped a rag over his shoulder, straightened up, and gestured with his chin towards Ye Yang. "How many skills have you learned by now?"

Ye Yang walked to the counter, rested his elbow on it, and said casually, "Two thousand."

As he spoke, he took out a new business card from his pocket, held it between two fingers, and handed it to the boss.

The boss took the business card, glanced at the smiley face on the front, then flipped it over to look at the numbers on the back, and nodded with a smile: "Not bad."

Lin Xingran stood two steps behind Ye Yang, her gaze falling on the hydra tattoo on the boss's forearm, her expression changing slightly.

She picked up her sunglasses from the ground, took half a step forward, and then leaned close to Lin Yumin's ear, lowering her voice to say, "Big sister, is that tattoo the mark of the Hydra boss? The assassin organization that's in the top ten on the federal wanted list."

"I heard their boss is so fast with a knife that even energy bullets can't touch him. He suddenly disappeared a few years ago, and everyone thought he was killed by his enemies. Could he be opening a braised chicken restaurant here?"

Lin Yumin's gaze calmly swept over the tattoo on the boss's arm, then she turned her head and lowered her voice to Lin Xingran beside her, saying, "Shut up."

Lin Xingran obediently shut her mouth, but she couldn't help but glance at the boss's arm several times.

She noticed that the knife the boss used to cut the side dishes had a long, slender blade, the edge gleaming coldly under the light.

That knife was completely different from the ordinary kitchen knives next to it; its blade was slightly curved, and there was a very fine groove on the back of the blade.

Lin Xingran had seen that knife shape in the weapons identification class at school.

That's a willow-leaf knife used by top-notch knife-wielders. This kind of knife requires extremely high wrist strength to control, and the person holding the knife must undergo more than ten years of specialized training to cut a piece of meat of uniform thickness.

At that moment, the boss was chopping vegetables with a willow-leaf knife. The blade was so fast in his hand that it was almost invisible. Several green peppers were tossed into the air at the same time, and with a flash of light, they were cut into even thin strips when they landed back on the cutting board.

The shop owner returned the business card to Ye Yang, glancing over his shoulder at the three girls standing behind him: "Friends?"

Ye Yang put the business card back in his pocket, glanced back at the three people behind him, then turned to the boss and nodded: "Family."

The light in the boss's eyes suddenly softened, as if something that had been weighing on his heart for many years had been gently touched.

He put the scalpel down, gently rubbed the handle with his fingers, and then sighed softly: "Family is good—family is the best."

He seemed to remember something from a long time ago, but quickly came back to his senses.

He wiped his hands with a rag, picked up the scalpel again, and said warmly, "Sit down, order whatever you'd like. I'll give you extra braised chicken, it's free."

Just then, the wind chimes on the door rang again.

A young man stumbled in from outside the door.

He was about 1.8 meters tall, with a slender build, and wore a simple white shirt and black trousers. He had long, jet-black hair, with bangs slightly covering half of his eyebrows.

He had high brow bones, a straight nose, and a sharp jawline, making him extremely handsome.

The young man tripped over the threshold and his body lurched forward.

His hands frantically circled in the air several times before his elbow struck the corner of an empty table next to him with a dull thud.

He grimaced and clutched his elbow, staggering several steps before managing to regain his balance.

Then he took a deep breath, straightened his shirt collar, and continued walking towards the counter.

Just then, two figures wearing black jackets suddenly stood up from the corner.

One of them pulled down his baseball cap, while the other reached into his pocket, pulled out a crumpled photo, looked at it, and then looked up at the long-haired young man in front of him.

The two men exchanged a glance, a cold glint flashing in their eyes.

"Is it him?"

"Yes, that's him. Two million bounty. Take him down."

The two people stood up from their seats at the same time. The chair legs scraped against the floor with a harsh screech.

The first man in black pulled a short-handled axe from his pocket; the blade gleamed coldly in the lamplight.

He silently circled behind the long-haired young man, raising his axe high.

Just then, the long-haired young man stopped in his tracks.

He glanced down, muttered something to himself, then bent down and began to carefully tie the untied shoelaces.

The axe whistled past his head, making a "whoosh" sound as it struck the air.

The man in black stumbled forward half a step due to the excessive force, almost dropping the axe. He quickly regained his balance, a look of surprise flashing in his eyes.

The second man in black saw his companion fail, cursed, and also pulled out a short-handled axe from his pocket.

He quickly went around to the other side, and while he was squatting down to tie his shoelaces, he swept the axe across from the side.

The long-haired young man finally finished tying his shoelaces, made a neat bow, nodded in satisfaction, and then stood up.

The axe blade grazed his back before missing.

The two men in black stood facing each other, their hands holding axes frozen in mid-air.

The long-haired young man turned around, saw the two men holding axes in front of him, paused for a moment, then blinked and asked politely, "Do you need something?"

The two men in black exchanged a glance, their eyes simultaneously turning fierce.

They brandished their axes and shouted in cold, hard voices, "Long Aotian—prepare to die!"

Two axes came down at the same time, blocking all escape routes from the left and right.

Long Aotian took a small step back, and the blades of the two axes grazed the fabric of his shirt without even touching a single button.

The other diners in the restaurant did not react at all to the ongoing attempted murder.

An old man eating braised chicken by the window carefully checked the heat, then picked up a piece of chicken, dipped it in the sauce, and slowly chewed it.

A young woman in the corner, who was drinking soup, didn't even lift her eyelids; she just moved her phone to the side to avoid it being shaken off.

The shop owner, standing behind the counter wiping his dagger, heard the fighting behind him and, without looking up, shouted to Long Aotian, "Aotian, go fight outside! Don't damage my shop. It's just been renovated."

Long Aotian turned to look at the boss and gave a serious "Oh".

Then he took a step back, turned lightly, and easily bypassed the two men in black in front of him, walking out of the shop.

Lin Xingran stood there, glancing at the boss and then at Long Aotian's retreating figure as he disappeared through the door.

"What's going on?" Her voice unconsciously rose half an octave.
