The streetlights at the school gate illuminated the scene on the open ground clearly: a black van was parked on the side of the road, the butler stood beside the van, a bodyguard carrying a silver-gray briefcase stood on the open ground, and another bodyguard stood guard beside the van, his eyes scanning the surroundings warily.

Lin Shen stopped at the school gate. He pointed the gun at the ground and said, "Little girl, and you two, the kid with glasses, you go ahead first."

Ran paused for a moment, then instinctively looked at Kogoro Mouri: "But... my dad..."

"Stop talking nonsense, Ran!" Kogoro Mouri interrupted her, his voice unusually decisive. "Hurry up and get over there! I won't be at ease until you're safe!"

As soon as Xiaolan got into the car, Yuanzi rushed over and hugged her tightly, looking her up and down. "Xiaolan! Are you alright? Are you hurt? Did they hit you?"

"I'm fine..." Xiaolan shook her head, her eyes still red. "It's just my dad..."

"Don't worry!" Sonoko patted her shoulder, her tone reassuring. "Uncle Mori will be fine! That kidnapper took the money and ran away; he won't dare to do anything reckless."

Xiaolan forced a smile, then turned her head and stared intently through the car window at the figure being pointed at with a gun at the school gate.
