The game is only half finished, and the entire internet is begging for an update!

"Hiss... Terrifying! Absolutely terrifying!"

Two days later, in the office.

Zhao Zhibai was sitting at his workstation, his phone lying in front of him, his fingers flipping through the pages one after another, occasionally frowning in deep thought, his expression extremely serious.

Sitting opposite him, Zhou Guangqi felt increasingly uneasy.

"Little White!!"

"I called you over here to help me brainstorm ideas for a cultivation game, but why have you been staring at your phone reading novels ever since you walked in?!"

"What's wrong? You're of Scandinavian descent? How about I talk to President Jiang and we switch to a four-day work week with three days off?"

unacceptable!

You've only been here a short time, and you're already slacking off right in front of him!

Even if you were invited by President Jiang, you can't be this arrogant!

He even sneaks around when he's slacking off! Being too concerned about saving face can sometimes be a burden!

Zhou Guangqi looked at the folder he had just created and felt extremely frustrated.

"Brother, I'm begging you! We don't even have a single line of ancestral code! If you keep this up, I'm going to confiscate your novel!"

"Hey, hey, hey! Don't get excited, Guang-ge!"

"President Jiang personally told us during the meeting to read more cultivation novels. I was just looking for inspiration!"

Zhou Guangqi looked at him with deep sorrow.

"You've been working on it for two hours already."

"So tell me, what did you figure out?"

Across from him, Zhao Zhibai immediately sat up straight.

"Of course."

"And I've just thought of a very important question."

"Look, President Jiang said this is a world where only sword cultivators exist. It's pure, but if everyone just wields a sword and slashes around, it might be fine for a short time, but after a while, the system definitely won't be rich enough, right?"

Zhou Guangqi nodded.

He's been thinking about this issue for the past couple of days.

Swords can be made of different materials and have different shapes, and sword techniques can be freely combined. However, the difference in players' starting conditions is too small in the early stages, which can easily lead to the entire server pursuing the same optimal path.

Zhao Zhibai reopened his phone and placed the covers of several novels in front of him.

"After carefully studying these hit novels, I've discovered a problem, Brother Guang. Why are so many protagonists able to emerge from a group of geniuses?"

"Besides talent, hard work, and luck, there is another very important thing."

"A cheat code!"

"A genius protagonist is always accompanied by a unique cheat code!"

"What old man, ring, ancient treasure, incomplete scroll! The protagonist always has something that no one else has."

"Then...we can make one too! That way, our sword cultivation system can be more comprehensive!"

"For example, we could implement a Companion Fate system directly in the game! This would allow every player entering the game to choose a unique Companion Fate!"

"This opportunity won't directly fight for the player, but it will affect the subsequent development direction."

"In this way, although everyone is a sword cultivator, their growth paths are completely different."

Zhou Guangqi was stunned, and his previously agitated emotions instantly calmed down.

This kid has actually figured something out?

He immediately became interested.

"A symbiotic opportunity? Tell me, how exactly do you do it?"

Zhao Zhibai was prepared and immediately began to explain at length.

"Simple! Just turn the cheat codes from online novels into our auxiliary system!"

"For example, the Remnant Soul Master! After entering the game, a wisp of a remnant soul will reside within your sword. This opportunity can greatly increase the speed of your cultivation!"

"Or perhaps it's the Mysterious Ring! Wearing it will slowly increase the upgrade speed and tempering efficiency of your flying sword!"

"We could also add pet encounters; let's add two more! And then maintain overall game balance!"

"Think about it!" Xiaobai exclaimed excitedly.

"This completely opens up new possibilities for our game! Although players are all wielding swords, the different core companion opportunities instantly create a multi-dimensional character development path! How many different gameplay strategies can this generate?"

Zhou Guangqi's eyes gradually brightened.

In game design, this approach of giving players different characteristics under unified rules is the foundation of masterpieces!

"That's interesting, newbie! This move not only makes up for the monotony of a single swordsmanship but also maximizes the immersive experience of cultivating immortality! It's a stroke of genius!"

"You haven't wasted your time reading those novels!"

Seeing that Zhou Guangqi agreed, Xiaobai then shared her other ideas.

"Brother Guang! Actually, I have another idea."

"Well... for our story background, the boss battles and stuff, I think we could set them up so that they're triggered directly by the players!"

"Didn't President Jiang say before that we need to fight bosses and explore ancient sects?"

"Then let's simply use a sect to connect these two events, taking part of the story."

Zhou Guangqi looked at him.

"How do I connect it? How do I trigger it?"

"Don't you dare do anything reckless! Your arbitrary alteration of President Jiang's work is simply superfluous!"

"Oh dear, how could it be altered! I implemented this entirely based on President Jiang's existing work!"

"Listen first. For example, in the early stages, we placed some strange, broken stone tablets in hidden corners of various maps. They kept repeating the same sentence on them."

"Don't ascend!"

"Don't ascend!"

"Brother Guang, look, the core principle of traditional cultivation games is to defy the heavens and ascend to immortality. That inevitably makes them so boring and tedious!"

"We, on the other hand, will do the opposite! We'll establish an ancient sect whose core principle is to prevent ascension!"

"This sect used to destroy the ascension platform and steal tribulation materials, making them ostracized by everyone. Everyone thought they were crazy, the biggest villains in the cultivation world. Then, many sects united to besiege and destroy them!"

"But later on, players will find more and more ruins of this sect in different maps..."

"But as players investigate further, they will discover that not ascending actually makes sense!"

"As for why they don't allow people to ascend, you can contact the world boss."

"Wouldn't that add depth to the story?!"

What exactly is this so-called ascension—entering the immortal realm, or something else?

Could the so-called ascension passage be the same type of rift used by the BOSS?

The more Zhou Guangqi thought about it, the brighter his eyes became.

The world boss descended from the sky.

Even cultivators can ascend from the sky.

Are they taking the same path?

As expected of you!

"noob."

"You're really capable! With your concept, the entire background setting of our game is completely complete!"

"With this ability, even in the Warring States period, you would have been one of the Seven Warring States!!!"

Zhao Zhibai was stunned for a moment, then his smile quickly widened.

"Brother, I didn't expect you to think so highly of me!"

"Seven heroes!"

"Am I that important to you?"

Zhou Guangqi patted him on the shoulder solemnly.

"Of course!"

"I've never seen such a talented planner in my entire life!"

Xiao Bai was overjoyed by the praise, feeling as if her soul had been elevated.

"Hahaha! Brother Guang, you're too kind! I'll treat you to dinner later!"

"It's okay."

"I'm just saying things I don't really mean sometimes. If you like hearing it, I can continue to say them to you in the future."

The smile on Zhao Zhibai's face slowly disappeared.

"Then what's the point of eating!"

"I'm starting intermittent fasting today!"
