Hogg showed the search warrant in his hand. "We suspect that the assassin who attacked Chief Brandon's daughter tonight is in your hotel. We need to search the premises. Please cooperate with us."

Upon hearing Hogg's words, the butler, Elijah, showed a slight change in expression, but continued in a very polite tone, "Officers, please wait a moment, I need to contact the manager."

"I'll give you a few minutes. If you refuse to cooperate, we'll have no choice but to enforce it!" Hogg's tone left no room for argument.

Seeing this, Elijah picked up his phone and dialed the manager of the Continental Hotel in Los Angeles. If it were just a regular police search, they could easily handle it.

Seeing this, Elijah quickly smiled and looked at Hogg, "Officer, please wait a moment, our manager will be here shortly."

Hogg said calmly, "One minute left. When the time is up, we'll go in and search everyone. If you don't cooperate, we'll arrest you too!"

Hearing this, the surrounding assassins were filled with anger. How dare a mere policeman speak so arrogantly! How ignorant! Did he think this was an ordinary hotel?

"Sheriff Hogg, we've opened fire!" one of the assassins said.

Hogg quickly stepped forward, checked the assassin's vital signs, and after confirming that the person was beyond saving, said to the two men, "You did a great job. You saved the citizens of Los Angeles. God will bless you."

The other assassins and Elijah were all shocked as they watched this scene unfold.

All of this happened so suddenly; an assassin was shot to death right before their eyes!

"How can you kill people so casually!" one of them angrily accused.

Hogg quickly retorted, "Hehehe! My friend, you all saw him pointing a gun at my colleague. Chief Brandon gave orders that if the killer resisted, they were allowed to shoot. Does that mean you're his accomplice?"

As he spoke, the surrounding assassins all turned their gazes toward him, their hands trembling with the urge to raise their guns.

Upon seeing this, the assassin's expression changed, and he waved his hand, saying, "That's not what I meant. I have nothing to do with him."

"That would be best," Hogg said, glancing at Elijah. "What did your manager say? Time's up."

Elijah was at a loss for words. These police officers were too domineering and showed him no respect whatsoever, yet all the procedures were legal and compliant. He didn't know how to respond.

But if these people were allowed to enter the mainland hotel to arrest people, it would break the ironclad rule that the mainland hotel has protected assassins for many years. His thoughts were complicated!
