According to the information relayed back by Klein, the FBI had received orders from Agent Millard to send someone to arrest him.

It's obvious they've discovered his connection to the Kree family and want to use that to control him. If he gets arrested, even the innocent will be portrayed as guilty!

Thinking this, Chen An quickly picked up his phone and dialed Brandon's number. The call was answered a few seconds later.

"Chief Brandon, how is Eve? I received news that she was attacked by an assassin," Chen An asked with concern.

Brandon responded, "It's okay. Your S.H.I.E.L.D. security company's bodyguards are pretty good. This attack is more serious than the previous ones. They're not even trying to kidnap Eve anymore; they're trying to kill her. I'm furious about this."

"The killers have been mostly captured, but they're tight-lipped and haven't said anything, though I've found some clues."

Upon hearing this, Chen An explained the purpose of his call: "Here's the thing, Director Brandon, I'm being watched by the FBI. It's very likely that they're the ones behind tonight's attack. I've just found some more information."

"First Assistant Director Kimi Byrne seems to know FBI Agent Millard. Clearly, their arrest of me suggests they're targeting 'us'!"

Chen An emphasized the word "we" to make Brandon understand that this matter was caused by him.

"I understand, Chen An. I'll send someone to your place right away. The FBI won't be able to take you away!" Brandon said firmly.

"Okay, I think Chief Brandon already knows who did what happened tonight," Chen An said with a smile.

"Okay, that's pretty much confirmed. I'll arrest him once I find the evidence. That's all for now. I have other things to do. I'll contact you later." Brandon said and hung up the phone.

Chen An then put down his phone and waited quietly.

Soon, there was a commotion outside the house. He slowly stood up and went to check. When he got outside, he saw a row of police cars parked on the road.

There were people from both the FBI and the police, including Hogg.

The two sides split into two groups, both heading towards Chen An who had suddenly appeared.

Upon approaching, an FBI agent spoke first, "Are you Mark Ann?"

Chen An nodded. "Yes, that's me."

"Please come with us. This is an arrest warrant. We suspect you are involved in the recent terrorist attacks. Please cooperate with us."

Before Chen An could answer, Hogg interjected, "I'm sorry, Mr. Mark Ann cannot go with you. He is an important witness for our police station, and we need to take him away."

The FBI agents looked indignant. "The FBI has priority over your police station. He needs to come back with us first, and you can come back to pick him up later."

As he spoke, he stepped forward to arrest Chen An.

Hogg quickly reached out to stop him, "Mr. Mark Ann must come back with us today. This is Director Brandon's order. If you have any objections, ask your superiors."

"This is an instruction document personally issued by Director Brandon." Hogg slapped the document onto the FBI agent, gesturing for him to take a good look.

Hogg then stopped paying attention to the other person and looked at Chen An, "Sir, please come with us."

Chen An nodded. "Okay."

He then followed Hogg toward the police car.

Just as Chen An was about to step into the police car,

A voice called out from behind again, "Wait!"

Chen An remained unmoved and sat in the back seat of the police car. Hogg casually closed the car door before turning his head to look at him. "What else do you want? Don't interfere with our official duties."
