Neither of them expected to see Major Vincent here.

However, Chen An remained calm and looked at the other person, "So it's Major Vincent. Back at the Grand Hotel, you really ran away quickly. We didn't even get to say a word. I didn't expect to run into you here."

Vincent said, "I heard about what happened back then. Don't blame me for leaving. After all, if so many of you couldn't hold them off, my staying wouldn't have made any difference, would it?"

Wayne's expression shifted as he watched the two talk.

It's surprising that Chen An knows Major Vincent; he must be quite a character.

Vincent quickly noticed Carl, frowning slightly. "You look familiar. Haven't we met somewhere before?"

Upon hearing this, Carl replied, "I have a generic face; that's what everyone says."

He knew now was not the time to break ties with Vincent; the boss was still there, and he couldn't let his actions affect the boss.

"Oh, is that so?" Vincent asked, puzzled. He felt like he'd seen this person somewhere before, but couldn't quite place him. Moreover, the other person's eyes were filled with hatred as they looked at him.

Does he have a grudge against me?

With that in mind, Vincent prepared to send someone to investigate. That's how he is; once he has a suspicion, he will investigate it thoroughly!

"By the way, I heard that Black Wolf recently did something big, stealing the weapons left behind by Taishan from Yuris and Green. You're close to him, were you involved?" Vincent suddenly asked, a greedy glint in his eyes.

Chen An leaned back in his chair and slowly said, "I've been in Los Angeles all this time, and I wasn't involved in this."

Wayne and the others were surprised to hear this.

Arms robbery!

This Chen An isn't the owner of a security company, so why would he rob an arms dealer? Is that a huge leap in industry?

After hearing this, Vincent continued, "However, I heard that Black Wolf has offended quite a few people because of this, and even Grant holds a grudge against him. The sale of his batch of weapons will also be in trouble."

"Really? But that's not something I should be considering," Chen An said.

Vincent observed Chen An's expression and, seeing that there was no change in the other's expression, did not continue to ask questions. However, he felt that this Chen An had a deep relationship with Black Wolf.

The other party couldn't possibly have been uninvolved in the arms robbery.

He was actually quite tempted by that batch of weapons. If he could get his hands on them, it would be a huge sum of money, and he could even pocket it all. Just thinking about it made him quite excited.

"In that case, Mr. Mark Ann, please contact me later. I have to go now," Vincent said, and walked away.

He arrived at the open space outside the banquet hall and waved to a subordinate.

"Major Vincent, what are your orders?"

Vincent said, "Investigate this person's recent whereabouts, whether he has left Los Angeles, where he has gone, and what he has been doing lately. Investigate everything."

The subordinate took the photo and nodded. "Yes, Major."

He then left immediately to investigate.

........

And this moment.

On Chen An's side, the atmosphere became somewhat somber. Vincent's words had made Wayne and the others realize that this seemingly ordinary Asian man actually hated them even more than they did!

At that moment, the banquet hall fell silent.

Seeing this, Chen An looked up and followed everyone's gaze to the entrance of the banquet hall, where he saw two figures stepping in.

A middle-aged white man with black hair, wearing an expensive suit, walked towards us with a smile. Another man was wearing a navy blue short fitted tuxedo with three stars on his shoulders, representing the rank of lieutenant general.

His hair was somewhat gray and sparse, but he was full of energy and vitality.

"Chen An, do you know this man?" Wayne asked.

Chen An shook his head. "Don't you recognize him?"

Upon hearing this, Wayne introduced, "The young man is Lance Ron, the head of the Lance family, who manages the entire family business, which spans multiple states and ranks among the top five in the technology and finance sectors!"

"The other one is Lance Cady, a lieutenant general in the Army. You know who I'm talking about, right?"

Chen An nodded.

At that moment, Lance Ron's voice rang out, "Welcome everyone to my daughter's birthday party. She'll be here shortly. Please make yourselves at home."

Lance Caddie was already chatting with several friends in military uniforms, including Chief Brandon.

Chen An, on the other hand, sat on the sofa and chatted casually with Wayne.

About a few minutes have passed.

Lance Ida walked in from outside the banquet hall, wearing a fluffy gown adorned with sparkling diamonds and a crown.

This made Chen An feel a little unfamiliar for a moment. After all, he usually saw her wearing a police uniform with her hair tied up, a typical strong woman. Now she had transformed into a rich princess, which was quite a contrast!

"Happy birthday, Miss Ida!" The surrounding guests offered their congratulations and presented the gifts they had brought.

"Thanks!"

"Welcome everyone to my birthday party." Ada thanked everyone, while the security guards behind her collected the gifts.

Ada was already used to this, since such birthday parties had been held every year since she was born, and the gifts were always pretty much the same.

Just then, he noticed Chen An and Chen Wan walking slowly towards him, and a smile appeared on his face. "Chen An, Chen Wan, you're here! Did you bring me a gift?"

Chen Wan smiled and said, "Of course, Sister Ada, you've helped us so much. This gift is one I picked out; it's just a small token of my appreciation."

Looking at the gift box Chen Wan handed her, Ada asked curiously, "What's inside?"

"A jewelry necklace that I designed myself, one of a kind, do you like it?" Chen Wan said.

Ada nodded. "Thank you for your thoughtfulness."

Then, looking at Chen An, she said, "Chen An, we've known each other for so long, your gift should be something unique, right?"

Upon hearing this, Chen An smiled and said, "I will definitely satisfy you, and I can guarantee that no one here has ever given me a gift like this before."

Upon hearing this, the expressions of those around him changed.

What an arrogant tone! As the little princess of the Lance family, what kind of gifts hasn't Ada seen? How dare she say that others haven't given her gifts? Could it be that she picked up some junk as a gift?!

Ada, however, showed curiosity.

"Oh! Let me see."

Upon hearing this, Chen An, as if performing magic, took out a red cloth and concealed his hand inside it. When the red cloth was untied, an exquisite gift box appeared in his hand.

Ada exclaimed in surprise, "Chen An, I didn't know you could do magic! How did you do that? Did you conjure it out of thin air?"

"Of course I can't talk about magic tricks, this is a gift from me, I think you'll like it," Chen An said.

At that moment, Lance Ron and Cady also noticed this scene.

"Brandon, is that Asian teenager the Chen An you mentioned?"

Brandon nodded. "Yes, he's a very interesting little guy, and his background is a bit mysterious."
