Chapter 286 Playing Tricks
Upon hearing Jarvis's words, everyone exchanged glances.
"I think it's reasonable to get a reward for having the best hand, since it still depends on luck and no one can always get the best hand!" Eve said.
"And you?" Ada asked, looking at the others.
Booth nodded, and the others said they had no problem. Chen Wan looked at her older brother, waiting for his opinion.
Chen An glanced at Jarvis, a faint smile playing on his lips. "I'm okay with that too."
Jarvis was secretly delighted upon hearing this.
"Alright, let's begin." Ada had no objections when everyone agreed.
"Let's continue shuffling. This time, Booth and I will shuffle," Jarvis said, then picked up one of the decks and began shuffling quickly.
Booth was a bit clumsy, but he managed to shuffle the cards and place them on the table.
"I'll go first!" Jarvis said, casually pulling a card from the deck, which no one noticed.
However, Chen An frowned. Based on the "sharp ears and keen eyes" attribute, he discovered that the other party had secretly tampered with the card, and that the card in their hand was probably the highest one.
Chen An immediately understood.
No wonder the other party wanted to propose that the player with the highest score could designate someone for Truth or Dare; that's the reason.
Chen An then smiled and casually drew a card from the deck, placing it in front of him.
Jarvis stared at Chen An, pondering how to punish him. He believed no one had a stronger hand than him, at best equal, but the chances of encountering such a person were slim!
Next, everyone took turns drawing cards, which were then laid out face to face.
Eve has the 4 of clubs, Ida has the 9 of hearts, Booth has the 5 of spades, and the others are also hovering around the board, leaving only Chen An and Jarvis without revealing their cards.
"Chen An, Jarvis, you're the only ones left who haven't revealed their cards," Ida said.
After hearing this, Jarvis didn't rush to reveal his cards. Instead, he looked at Chen An with interest and said, "You go first. I'm afraid my cards will be a foregone conclusion."
After hearing this, Chen Wan whispered in Chen An's ear, "Brother, we feel that this Jarvis is very hostile towards you, and it looks like he wants to mess with you."
Chen An spoke up, "It's not just a possibility, it's a deliberate attempt to frame me."
"Did you know each other before?" Chen Wan asked.
Chen An shook his head. "I don't know them, but since that's what they think, let them experience what it's like to be a hapless bear!"
Immediately afterwards, Chen An revealed the playing cards in front of him, and everyone looked on.
"The Jack of Clubs seems to be the highest right now. I feel like Chen An has the highest one in this hand," Booth said.
"Don't worry, everyone, mine hasn't been revealed yet." Jarvis smiled, and when he saw that Chen An's card was the Jack of Clubs, he completely relaxed.
Chen An, just wait and see if I don't mess with you!
Jarvis then confidently revealed the deck of cards in front of him, and without even looking at them, said, "Have you all seen it clearly? Who has the highest card?"
Pfft!
"Hahaha! Jarvis, do you want to see your hand?" Booth burst into laughter.
The others also smiled.
Jarvis looked bewildered and slowly looked down, only to see that the King of Clubs he had been certain of had turned into the 3 of Clubs, the lowest-ranking card!
impossible!
I was in a hurry to get the King of Clubs, so why did it turn into the 3 of Clubs?!
"Jarvis, don't be too confident. Getting the highest hand once is already lucky. The 3 of Clubs is obviously your lowest hand. You'll be punished!" Eve said.
"It seems you have the strongest hand, Chen An. You can choose someone to play Truth or Dare." Ada looked at Chen An. "Who do you want to choose?"
In response to Ada's question, Chen An looked at Jarvis and said, "I get along very well with this Mr. Jarvis. Let's go with him. There's no rule that says a person can't do it twice."
Jarvis's face was grim.
I was careless. I must have misremembered and picked up the wrong card. I never expected that this damn Asian kid would get the highest card.
Wait!
Next time, we must pay it all back.
Ada's voice pulled him back to reality. "Jarvis, since Chen An specifically chose you, let's have two punishments. Truth or dare?"
Jarvis downed the full glass of red wine Booth had poured for him in one gulp, and then said, "I'll choose two truths."
In his opinion, truth or dare was alright, but if it was a dare, Chen An would definitely find a way to embarrass him, and he absolutely couldn't let the other party succeed!
"I'll do it this time!" Eve volunteered.
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Seeing this, Eve looked at Jarvis and smiled slyly, "Jarvis, did you go to the strip party or not? Don't lie!"
Jarvis's brows furrowed into a deep frown, as if he were in immense pain.
"Yes, but I was just curious and went to take a look. I didn't do anything, Ada," Jarvis tried to explain further.
Ada said, "Why are you explaining to me? It's your freedom to choose what you want to participate in."
"Chen An, it's your turn to ask a question," Eve said.
Upon hearing this, Chen An looked at Jarvis with a calm expression and smiled, "You really didn't do anything? Tell the truth."
Jarvis clenched his fists, wishing he could kill the other man. These two were asking increasingly harsh questions, and Ada's gaze towards him was clearly filled with disdain.
If I admit it, wouldn't I have no good feelings towards Ada at all? How am I supposed to pursue her then?
Jarvis then shook his head and said, "No."
Chen An's expression shifted. He realized Jarvis was lying through his micro-expression observer, so he pressed, "Are you sure? If you lie about this kind of game, then you really deserve to be looked down upon."
Faced with Chen An's intentional or unintentional mockery, Jarvis's anger had reached a fever pitch, but he still shamelessly retorted, "I'm sure. Who would lie in this kind of game? I'd be in big trouble if I lied!"
"Alright! Then I'll believe you this time!" Chen An said, without saying anything more. But seeing the look in his eyes that seemed to want to devour him, he knew that the other party wouldn't let it go easily.
Booth looked at Jarvis with disdain. What a shameless guy! He was the one who had the most fun that night, and it lasted all night!
However, given Jarvis's background, it's not appropriate to say much.
Ada seemed to see through everything, and her already strong dislike for Jarvis intensified.
"Keep going! This time I'm serious!" Jarvis urged hurriedly. He had already figured out how to punish Chen An. No matter whether the other party chose Truth or Dare, he would make him suffer. He had to vent his anger!
"I'm shuffling the deck with Eve this time," Ida said.
Soon, the two shuffled the cards and placed them on the table.
Jarvis accurately found the card he wanted, quickly drew it out, and placed it in front of him. This time, he glanced at it to make sure there was no problem before revealing a smug smile.
Seeing this, Chen An narrowed his eyes slightly and casually drew another card.
