Chapter 287 Furious
Soon everyone finished drawing again and then revealed their cards one by one. Eve drew the King of Hearts, and the others drew cards of varying sizes. However, Chen An's card was the second smallest, the 4 of Diamonds.
"Chen An, you finally lost," Ida said.
Chen An smiled slightly but didn't say anything.
Jarvis's expression darkened slightly when he saw Eve draw the King of Hearts, but he smiled again when he saw Chen An draw the lowest card.
Jarvis said smugly, "Chen An, let me ask you questions this time."
Jarvis then revealed the numbers on his playing cards.
"Damn! Jarvis, your luck is terrible! Another 3, even lower than Chen An. You've lost this time!"
Booth's voice pulled Jarvis, who was originally very confident, back to his senses. He quickly looked down and saw a 3 of diamonds lying quietly on the table, which was shocking!
"Impossible! I just checked, it was definitely the King of Diamonds! Who stole my card?!" Jarvis shouted, feeling like he'd seen a ghost. The card had been in his hand the whole time, so when did it change?!
"Jarvis, you're cheating again! We all saw it, you revealed the 3 of diamonds, are you confused?!" Ida said.
Everyone thought it was really boring; the other party would say anything to avoid punishment.
Chen An leaned back in his chair, smiled faintly, and said, "Looks like I'm lucky. Even a 4 doesn't warrant a punishment. Jarvis should thank you; your hand is really rotten!"
"Chen An, did you do this?!" Jarvis could no longer contain his temper and questioned him sharply.
"Bullshit! My brother has never touched your cards from the beginning. I've disliked my brother from the start, and now you're framing him. I think we can't play this game anymore, Sister Ada." Chen Wan had long disliked Jarvis and directly retorted angrily.
Ada was also somewhat displeased. "Jarvis, if you can play, then keep playing. Don't make excuses. It's all about luck anyway. Can't you just keep getting three in a row?"
"But what I clearly saw was..." Jarvis said, at a loss for words. No one would believe him now, no matter what he said!
His intuition told him that Chen An must be behind all of this!
But seeing the strange looks he was getting from the people around him, he could only swallow his grievances and bear it all.
"Brother Chen, may I punish you?" Eve asked with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Chen An looked extremely surprised. "Eve, you're actually going to punish me? That's so heartbreaking."
Eve quickly waved her hand, "No, no, it's just that I've always been curious about something and want to ask you. You have to tell me the truth."
Chen An wasn't really angry, and he knew Eve wouldn't embarrass him too much, so he nodded, "Ask away."
"Hey Chen An, do you have a girlfriend?" Eve asked.
Those present were taken aback at first.
For some reason, Ada also listened with curiosity, while Jarvis, who had been paying close attention to Ada's situation, clenched his fists even tighter!
Why should an Asian kid get Ada's attention so much? What does he have that I don't? He doesn't have as much money as me, his background isn't as powerful as mine, he's just the boss of a lousy security company, I'm not even worthy of carrying his shoes.
"Haha, Eve, I can tell you this: my brother still doesn't have a girlfriend, he's a bachelor for life!" Chen Wan said.
"Oh! Really? Chen An is quite something too, he doesn't even have a girlfriend!" Eve's tone was slightly surprised, but also a little delighted.
Chen An slowly replied, "We've all been busy with our careers and haven't thought about that yet. We really haven't."
"Okay, I've finished asking," Eve said.
Booth then gave Jarvis a fairly standard dare as punishment, which made him feel a little better.
But then, as if he were plagued by bad luck, he always ended up with the lowest hand, and no matter what tricks he used, it was no use. It was as if the cards in his hand could change.
All the previous preparations were in vain; he had hoped to use this to show off in front of Ada.
He subjected himself to numerous punishments, playing Truth or Dare over and over again, until he became a laughing stock.
"Fuck! I'm not playing anymore!" Jarvis finally couldn't hold back anymore, angrily throwing his cards on the table, getting up and leaving in a huff. If this weren't a banquet, he would have punched Chen An long ago.
The other person's smug look was infuriating. Although I didn't know how he did it, he must have been the one causing all this trouble!
After Jarvis left, Ada spoke up, "That's it, there's no more alcohol. But Chen An, how did you manage to make Jarvis keep drawing the lowest cards?"
Jarvis's unusual behavior was obvious to anyone.
And the only person capable of doing all this is Chen An, a somewhat mysterious man.
Chen An didn't hide anything and admitted, "It's just a simple magic trick. Who told Jarvis to be dishonest and cheat in a game by switching cards beforehand? We had to teach him a lesson."
Booth and the others stared wide-eyed in surprise.
"Chen An, Jarvis's bad luck is all your fault. No wonder Jarvis looks at you with such hatred," Booth said.
"Ann, how did you do that? We couldn't figure it out at all. You never seem to even get close to Jarvis!"
Everyone present was very curious.
"Magic loses its charm if you explain it." Chen An smiled mysteriously and didn't say much more, after all, revealing it would only bring trouble.
The safest thing about a system is to keep it inside your own brain!
"Alright, it's about time. Let's go back." Ada glanced at the time on her watch and slowly stood up.
He then led the group back into the birthday banquet hall.
Then they saw Brandon and the others come out of the private room and walk towards them.
Chen Wan lagged a few steps behind and said to one of her henchmen, "John, after the banquet, follow that Jarvis and find a chance to beat him half to death. Let him bully my brother!"
John nodded expressionlessly. "Yes, miss."
Having received a reply, Chen Wan continued walking.
On the other side, Brandon also arrived with some important figures such as Lance Ron and Lance Caddie.
"You little guys, have a good time and come back," Brandon said.
Eve responded, "Yes, I'm quite happy."
At this moment, Katie's gaze also fell on Chen An. He extended his hand and smiled, "Hello, Chen An."
Chen An shook hands with the other person naturally: "Hello, Mr. Katie."
"I have a deep impression of you. You were the first person to give my beloved granddaughter a gun as a gift. I also heard that you started a security company. You're quite accomplished at such a young age."
Faced with Lieutenant General Lance Cady's praise, Chen An did not lose his composure and replied calmly, "Not at all, it was all good luck to meet Director Brandon. Without his guarantee, things would have been quite difficult."
