Journey to the West Arrives: Start by becoming an apprentice of the Tongtian Sect Leader!

Li Xuancang was completely stunned after hearing these words.

I rely on!

High-ranking positions and generous salaries right off the bat?!

The God of Justice also has a deputy marshal of the Heavenly Army?!

Is this how the Jade Emperor tests his officials?!

You know what, I actually fall for that!

Originally, Li Xuancang thought that the Jade Emperor would assign him a sinecure, that is, a position that he would hold but not actually do anything.

But now it seems I was completely wrong!

Whether it's the God of Justice or the Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Army, these are positions with absolute real power.

The God of Justice goes without saying; he is in charge of the heavenly rules and regulations, and theoretically, he can manage all the gods in the Heavenly Court!

The position of Heavenly God of Justice is currently vacant, and Erlang Shen Yang Jian has not yet assumed this position, but it should be soon.

Needless to say, he was the deputy marshal of the Heavenly Army.

This position is even more terrifying than the God of Justice!

Besides Li Jing, the Grand Marshal of the Army, the Jade Emperor, the Great Celestial Venerable, also held supreme power over the Heavenly Army.

The deputy marshal can mobilize as many heavenly soldiers and generals as he wants!

Most importantly, Li Jing tried to mess with me last time!

Since that's the case, then I'll become a deputy marshal and give Li Jing a good piece of my mind.

Having thought this through, Li Xuancang already had a goal: to become the Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Court's Army!

Then we can directly win over Nezha and sideline Li Jing.

The Jade Emperor was not in a hurry, giving Li Xuancang plenty of time to think.

There are actually quite a few vacant positions in the Heavenly Court, but most of them are minor, insignificant official posts.

As Li Xuancang was the direct disciple of his senior brother, the Tongtian Sect Master, he came to seek refuge with his uncle. As his uncle, he couldn't possibly assign his nephew some insignificant, lowly official position.

So after the Tongtian Sect Leader talked to the Jade Emperor about Li Xuancang, the Jade Emperor thought about it carefully.

The position of the God of Justice is definitely a powerful department in the Heavenly Court.

The Heavenly Court is filled with disciples of the Jie Sect. Having Li Xuancang, a direct descendant of the Jie Sect wielding the Qingping Sword, as the God of Justice would be a perfect thing.

In addition to the God of Justice, the Jade Emperor also established a new position: Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Army.

The Jade Emperor had a lot of personal motives behind this position…

As the supreme celestial being of the Three Realms, how could the Jade Emperor not know that Li Jing, the Grand Marshal of the Heavenly Army, was greedy and always looking for something better?

He holds an official position in the Heavenly Court, but secretly works for the Buddhist sect!

Therefore, the Jade Emperor had long harbored resentment towards Li Jing.

Li Xuancang's arrival in Heaven provided the Jade Emperor with an opportunity.

That means letting Li Xuancang share Li Jing's power!

Li Xuancang was no fool, of course. If the position of the God of Justice was meant to allow Li Xuancang to better manage the disciples of the Jie Sect, then...

Therefore, the position of Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Army is something that deserves serious consideration...

On the one hand, the position of Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Army carries more power than that of the God of Justice; on the other hand, there has never been any mention of a Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Army in the Heavenly Court.

So, thinking of this, Li Xuancang looked at the Jade Emperor with a somewhat inexplicable expression.

"Uncle-Master... This disciple has never heard of the Heavenly Court having a Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Army before."

"This disciple knows that the Grand Marshal of the Heavenly Army is the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King. Now that you, Uncle, have created a Deputy Grand Marshal, I wonder if you have any other plans?"

Upon hearing this, the Jade Emperor smiled broadly.

"Hahahaha... Nephew, you were right!"

"As your senior martial uncle, I won't hide anything from you. The reason I gave you the position of Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Army is that I hope you can share Li Jing's power!"

"Nephew, you were not in the Heavenly Court before, so you may not know that the positions of gods in the Heavenly Court are all determined by the Investiture of the Gods. Each position occupies an important part of the Heavenly Court's fortune, incense offerings, and even merits."

"Therefore, these divine positions cannot be moved lightly, even if I am the Great Heavenly Venerable of the Three Realms..."

"But Li Jing was not pure of heart from the moment he entered the Heavenly Court."

"Nephew, as you know, this Heavenly Court belongs to our Xuanmen sect; it is the Heavenly Court of the East!"

"However, Li Jing studied under Dipankara Buddha and has been doing a lot for Western Buddhism by using the name of the Heavenly King of Heaven."

"Such a two-faced person, nephew, tell me, can your uncle, as the Great Celestial Venerable, really be trusted with him?"

"Moreover, we are currently in the midst of the Great Tribulation of Journey to the West, and within this tribulation, tremendous changes have occurred. No one can predict where the primordial world will go in the future..."

"Li Jing wields immense power in Heaven, so naturally he must be restricted!"

"I won't hide it from you, my nephew. One of these two positions was prepared for you, and the other was prepared for my nephew Yang Jian."

"If you, my nephew, wish to become the God of Justice, then the position of Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Army will belong to my nephew, Yang Jian."

"If you, my nephew, wish to become the deputy marshal, then the position of the God of Justice will one day belong to my nephew..."

Upon hearing these words, Li Xuancang immediately understood.

The Jade Emperor clearly wants to place his own people in important positions in Heaven.

His master, the Tongtian Sect Leader, must have reached some kind of consensus with the Jade Emperor during their previous conversation, which is why the Jade Emperor was so close to him.

As for Yang Jian, needless to say, although Yang Jian obeys orders but not summons, he is still the Jade Emperor's nephew!

After thinking for a moment, Li Xuancang smiled confidently.

"Since my senior uncle has made things so clear, I, as his junior, can't let him down!"

"Uncle-Master, I want the position of Deputy Marshal of the Heavenly Court's Army!"

Upon hearing Li Xuancang's words, the Jade Emperor clapped his hands hard.

"good!!!"

"I knew you'd choose this, my junior apprentice."

"I will announce this matter at the court assembly in the Lingxiao Palace tomorrow."

"At the same time, we will select a site in Heaven to build a Marshal's Mansion for you, my nephew!"

Just as the Jade Emperor finished speaking, Li Xuancang had a sudden inspiration.

"Uncle-Master, I think we don't need to choose any other place. Just build a Marshal's Mansion for me next to Li Jing's Heavenly King's Mansion. After all, I am the Deputy Marshal, and I will need to communicate with Marshal Li Jing more often if anything happens."

Upon hearing this, the Jade Emperor was taken aback for a moment, and then burst into laughter.

"Hahahaha!!!"

"Excellent! It's right next to Marshal Li Jing's residence!"

As the Jade Emperor, how could he not understand the thoughts of such a disgusting person as Li Xuancang?

Originally, the Heavenly Court did not have any deputy marshals.

But now a deputy marshal has suddenly been parachuted in, and this deputy marshal's residence is right next to Li Jing's Heavenly King's Palace.

What's this called?

Isn't this just like a toad on your foot—it doesn't bite, but it's still annoying!

Moreover, Li Jing couldn't utter a single word of dissent.

And so, the Jade Emperor and Li Xuancang, one old and one young, the two foxes, looked at each other and smiled…

Hehehehehehehe…………
