Before Shen Yue could react, Shen Quan had already made his move.

Five fingers gripped his neck, the force precise and ruthless, dragging him back two steps until his back slammed against the low railing. A dark, sinister glint flashed in Shen Quan's eyes. He roared towards the doorway.

"Since you're here, come out!"

The iron gate was suddenly pushed open.

Shen Mingxiao and Shen Yanhe appeared at the door at the same time. When their eyes fell on the hand that Shen Quan was using to choke Shen Yue, their pupils contracted simultaneously.

They both took a step forward simultaneously, but were stopped at the same time by Shen Quan.

"Don't come any closer!"

Shen Yue's face was flushed red, and he was having difficulty speaking as his neck was being choked, but he turned his head to look at his two sons.

"How...how did you find this place?"

Shen Quan smiled, then shifted his gaze to a small object that had sprung out of the joint of the cane after it hit the ground.

"Brother, you didn't even know you had your location tracked. You've wasted all these years."

Shen Mingxiao clenched his fist, his voice deepening, "Let my father go. We'll talk about anything else."

Shen Quan gave a sinister laugh, his gaze sliding from Shen Mingxiao's face to the empty doorway behind him, then back to his own.

"I want his life, how do I say it?"

"You've pushed me to this desperate situation, leaving me no way out. How can I accept this?"

Although Shen Yue's neck was being choked, his voice remained cold and hard.

"You brought this on yourself!"

"Yes, I brought this on myself. Didn't you drive me to this point?" His gaze swept back and forth between Shen Mingxiao and Shen Yanhe, the smile in his eyes growing deeper.

"But it's okay, I'm looking forward to the future."

Shen Yue's neck was already red from being strangled, and his breathing became increasingly rapid.

Shen Quan's face turned cold, and he said indifferently,

"Now, prepare a car and five million in cash for me to leave. Otherwise, I'll make sure he doesn't leave this rooftop alive."

Shen Yanhe took half a step forward, her expression serious, but her tone steady.

"Calm down. We'll prepare what you want. But if you really hurt my father, I guarantee you won't get away with it."

Shen Quan's gaze fell on Shen Yanhe's face. He narrowed his eyes, as if he were sizing something up.

"You must be Shen Yanhe."

"You should thank me. If it weren't for me, you probably would have been born half a month later."

Shen Yanhe was stunned for a moment.

He remembered his mother saying that her due date was originally at the end of the month, but she was frightened at the beginning of the month and gave birth to him prematurely. He looked up, the gentleness in his eyes fading.

"Is the shock your mother mentioned because of you?"

"Yes," Shen Quan answered frankly.

"It's me. I haven't seen Sister Shuyun in a long time. I just greeted her, but I didn't expect to scare her."

Shen Yue's eyes were slightly red, and his voice was a little hoarse.

"You bastard... Shu Yun has always treated you like a younger brother. How could you do this to her?"

Shen Quan sneered.

"It's her own fault for being timid, who else can she blame?" After saying that, he turned his gaze back to Shen Yanhe.

"Speaking of which, you really do look like your mother."

He leaned forward and looked at him carefully. "It's said that the second young master of the Shen family is meticulous, gentle and kind."

He chuckled softly. "But I don't think so. Shen Mingxiao's personality is just like my older brother's—cold on the outside but warm on the inside. But Shen Yanhe, you and I are the same kind of people. Your gentleness is just a disguise; you are cold and indifferent than anyone else."

Shen Yanhe curled the corners of her lips into a smile, but it lacked warmth.

"If my eyes are dirty, everything I see will look dirty."

"Don't believe me?" Shen Quan seemed to have expected him to say that.

"It seems you haven't seen yourself clearly yet. A meticulous person only weighs the pros and cons." His gaze swept around.

"Why are we still missing one person?" he asked with a smile, as if he had suddenly remembered something amusing.

"Where's Shen Jicheng? Why didn't he come with you?"

Shen Mingxiao and Shen Yanhe exchanged a glance, both trying to decipher the meaning in each other's eyes.

something wrong.

Shen Quan's smile deepened.

"If you still want your brother, go and get everything I want. Otherwise..." He didn't finish his sentence, but the threat was clear.

"I'll go," Shen Yanhe said first, turning and walking towards the iron gate.

Not long after, Shen Yanhe returned with the items.

Two men followed behind him, each carrying a black safe, which landed with a dull metallic clang. Shen Yanhe's gaze swept across the rooftop, finally settling on Shen Quan.

"The money is here, the car is downstairs."

Shen Quan's gaze lingered on the two safes for a moment. He loosened his grip on Shen Yue's arm slightly, pushed Shen Yue forward half a step, and gestured with his chin towards Shen Yanhe.

"Open."

Without hesitation, Shen Yanhe walked over, bent down, and pressed the latch on the safe. The lid popped open, revealing stacks of cash neatly stacked inside.

He closed the lid of the box, stepped back half a step, and let Shen Quan see clearly. Shen Quan's gaze lingered on the pile of money for two seconds, then he smiled with satisfaction.

He pushed Shen Yue in front of him to block him, and retreated step by step towards the rooftop exit.

Shen Mingxiao and Shen Yanhe stood still, their eyes fixed on him, their expressions tense.

Just as Shen Quan was about to retreat to the door, one of the people who delivered the money suddenly made a move.

He launched a sudden attack, precisely grabbing Shen Quan's wrist that was gripping Shen Yue's with one hand, while simultaneously pressing down on his shoulder with the other, catching everyone off guard.

Shen Quan reacted quickly, abruptly releasing Shen Yue and pushing him away. Shen Yue lost his balance and tilted over the railing, half of his body already over the edge of the rooftop.

Shen Mingxiao rushed out almost simultaneously.

"Father!"

His body lunged at the railing before Shen Yue fell, one hand gripping Shen Yue's wrist tightly, the other hand holding onto the edge of the railing.

Shen Yue was suspended in mid-air, while Shen Mingxiao's arm was so taut from the sudden force that his knuckles turned white, and he was pulled so hard that he almost flipped over the railing.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Shen Quan break free from his restraints and pull something out of his waist; the black gun barrel reflected a cold glint in the sunlight.

Shen Mingxiao did not let go. He pulled Shen Yue up half an inch, tightened his fingers, and breathed heavily and rapidly.

"Bang—!" A gunshot rang out.

The bullet grazed Shen Mingxiao's left arm, leaving a burning wound from which blood immediately seeped out and dripped down his elbow. He did not let go.

"Big brother!" Shen Yanhe exclaimed in surprise.

Shen Mingxiao gritted his teeth and pulled Shen Yue up a little further. Then Shen Yanhe rushed to the railing, bent down, and grabbed Shen Yue's other arm.
