Chapter 215 Song Yiyang
The two men pulled together, dragging Shen Yue back from outside the railing.
Shen Yue fell to the ground on the rooftop, panting heavily.
Shen Yanhe squatted down and supported his shoulders. Shen Mingxiao loosened his grip on the railing, took a half step back, and stood with his arms hanging down, blood dripping from his fingertips.
On the other side, Shen Quan had already been pinned to the ground.
The gun in his hand was kicked away, its black barrel sliding across the ground and hitting the corner of the wall. His face was pressed against the ground, the scar on his cheek smeared with dust and blood. His gaze passed over the people pressing down on him and landed on Shen Yue. His lips moved, as if he wanted to say something.
Someone crouched down and handcuffed his hands behind his back. The cold metal rings of the handcuffs fastened to his wrists. He didn't struggle; he just smiled coldly.
"Shen Yue, I won."
"Your child will be just like me."
Shen Yue's pupils contracted slightly.
Shen Yanhe was squatting beside him, dialing an emergency number on her phone. Shen Mingxiao didn't say anything more.
When Shen Quan was being led away, he glanced at the figure's back, a slight smile playing on his lips. Before he could speak again, he was already being held down and taken away by the people around him.
The sound of police sirens rose from downstairs, growing louder as they approached, echoing between the buildings. Shen Yanhe glanced down from the edge of the rooftop; the person had already been taken away. He looked away, turned, and walked towards Shen Yue.
"Are you alright?"
Shen Yue sat by the railing, his complexion much better than before. He waved his hand, his voice still a little hoarse.
"I'm fine, don't worry about me. You go find Shen Jicheng right away, he's definitely being watched by Shen Quan's men."
"Okay." Shen Yanhe didn't hesitate, only adding a few words of advice.
"Brother, you and Father go back first."
After saying that, he turned and left.

Shen Jicheng sat in the passenger seat, turning his head to look at the street scene outside the window.
Streetlights flashed past the car window one after another. He watched for a while, then suddenly spoke, his tone as if asking a casual question.
When did you learn to drive?
Song Yiyang's hands paused slightly on the steering wheel, but quickly returned to normal. He smiled, the curve of his lips not quite natural.
"What you learned during your time at the Pei family."
"Is that so?" Shen Jicheng's gaze did not leave the window.
"You drive quite skillfully; it doesn't seem like you've just learned."
"Really," Song Yiyang said casually and relaxed.
"I've been driving a lot lately, and I've gradually gotten the hang of it."
Shen Jicheng did not respond immediately.
His fingers, which were resting on his knees, twitched slightly, his fingertips unconsciously rubbing against a small patch of skin on the inside of his wrist, as if touching something unseen.
After a moment, he spoke softly.
"Song Yiyang, how many years have we known each other?"
Song Yiyang's fingers tightened slightly on the steering wheel. "Why are you suddenly asking that?"
"It's nothing, I just suddenly felt a lot of emotions. Time flies so fast."
Song Yiyang was silent for a few seconds, looked down at the road ahead, and nodded, "Yeah...it's fast."
Shen Jicheng slowly turned his gaze from the window and landed on Song Yiyang's profile.
Then he looked at the fingers gripping the steering wheel. Shen Jicheng stared at him for a moment, then suddenly asked, "So... when did this happen?"
Song Yiyang's back stiffened for a moment. "What?"
"When," Shen Jicheng paused, his gaze unwavering, "when you contacted Uncle Quan?"
The carriage was quiet for a few seconds.
Song Yiyang's fingers tightened around the steering wheel for a moment, then slowly relaxed. His gaze remained fixed on the road ahead, his voice slightly low and hoarse.
"When did you find out?"
Shen Jicheng leaned back in his seat, his gaze fixed on the road ahead.
"When you said you were coming to pick me up."
Song Yiyang did not respond.
"When we chatted last time, I told you I was locked up at home."
"But this time you didn't even ask, you just said you'd pick me up, which means you knew where I was today. Besides," he turned his head to look at Song Yiyang, "I remember you couldn't drive before."
Song Yiyang remained silent for a long time. The car continued to drive smoothly forward, passing through one intersection after another.
The streetlights cast flickering light on his face.
When he spoke, there was a bitter smile in his voice.
"Shen Jicheng... I really envy you sometimes."
Shen Jicheng looked at him but didn't reply.
"What's there to envy?"
"I envy how much your family spoils you." Song Yiyang's gaze fell forward. "You always have someone to shoulder everything for you."
Shen Jicheng pursed his lips. "So... what does this have to do with it?"
Song Yiyang did not answer immediately.
The car turned into a slightly quieter street. He gripped the steering wheel and didn't speak for a while.
"Do you remember about half a year ago, when we went to that private collection and accidentally broke a vase?"
Shen Jicheng thought for a moment, then his brows twitched slightly.
"I remember. We went in to browse and accidentally knocked over a shelf." He paused, "Later, I also killed a fish tank outside. My older brother paid two million in compensation for me and gave me a good scolding."
"Yes." Song Yiyang nodded. "That was that time."
"Back then, your older brother Shen Mingxiao came over and paid out more than 30 million, not two million."
"That vase isn't just any ordinary decoration; it's an antique that someone is going to exhibit. Your older brother was afraid your father would punish you if he found out, so he didn't mention it to you and only told others about the fish."
Shen Jicheng's fingers stopped. He looked at Song Yiyang's profile, and after several seconds, he spoke.
"I don't know about this."
"There's a lot you don't know." Song Yiyang forced a smile, his lips twitching slightly.
"I was partly responsible for that too. We both broke the vase, so I should take half the blame. But I'm not as lucky as you. Even though I'm an only child, my father has always looked down on me. After something this serious happened, I didn't dare tell him at all."
Shen Jicheng remained silent.
"The owner of that company is demanding ten million in compensation. I can't come up with that." Song Yiyang's voice trailed off.
"Later, someone contacted me and said they could lend me money. I thought I would pay it back when I had enough, so I took it. But... that money was loan sharking."
Shen Jicheng clenched his fingers, his knuckles turning white, then slowly relaxed them. He turned his head to look at Song Yiyang.
Song Yiyang didn't look at him; his gaze remained fixed on the road ahead. His fingers gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles pale and bloodless.
"I can't pay you back." His voice was very soft.
"I can never repay this debt in my lifetime."
"I can only... do things for him."
Shen Jicheng sat in the passenger seat without speaking for a long time before finally opening his mouth.
"So... this time you're doing it for him too?"
"Um."
