At 12:10, Aunt Li's loud voice rang out from the cafeteria entrance, "Lunch is served!"

Chen Ping walked to the door of Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan's dormitory and knocked on it.

The door opened, and Zhou Jie had changed into a light gray thin sweater. Her hair was tied up again, and she looked much more energetic than before.

Sun Xiaoyan followed behind her, still wearing the same clothes, but with her sleeves rolled up, revealing a slender, white wrist.

"Let's go eat."

Chen Ping led the two men toward the cafeteria.

The cafeteria was already half full. Wang Tao was sitting in the seat closest to the door. When he saw Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan come in, he quickly stood up, pulled the chair next to him outwards, and smiled broadly.

Aunt Li came out of the kitchen carrying a large clay pot. Seeing two new faces, she paused, placed the pot on the table, wiped her hands on her apron, and said, "Oh, are these the newcomers?"

"Aunt Li, these are the newly recruited nurses, Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan," Chen Ping said.

Aunt Li looked the two girls up and down, her eyes crinkling into slits with a smile, her face crinkling into a deep wrinkle. "Good, good, good! Our clinic finally has some new hires. This young lady is really pretty. How old is she? Is she married yet?"

As she spoke, Aunt Li glanced at Wang Tao twice, the meaning of which was self-evident.

These words made Zhou Jie blush deeply, and she lowered her head, not daring to speak.

Chen Ping quickly tried to smooth things over, "Aunt Li, let's eat first, and we'll talk after we finish eating."

They've all arrived one after another.

Wang Jianguo strolled in slowly, glanced at the two girls, nodded, and sat down in his usual spot.

Liu Wei walked in, glanced at the two of them, nodded slightly, and said nothing.

At this moment, Wang Tao stood up, puffed out his chest, and solemnly said to the two of them, "My name is Wang Tao, and I am an intern doctor at our health center. If you need anything in the future, you can come to me directly. Although I haven't been at the health center for long, I am very familiar with this place. You can also ask me for help with laundry and meals."

Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan looked at Wang Tao and nodded slightly.

Li Fang, holding a bowl, smiled and asked the two girls, "How old are you? Do you have a boyfriend? Where did you intern before?"

Zhao Guosheng walked in carrying a jar, sat down in the main seat, glanced at Li Fang, and said, "Don't get so close, you'll scare her."

Li Fang chuckled and moved to the side, but her eyes were still fixed on Zhou Jie.

Zhao Guosheng cleared his throat, his tone the same as when he announced important documents at meetings.

"Let me formally introduce Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan, our newly recruited nurses at the health center. They are both recent graduates from nursing school and have six months of internship experience at the county hospital. With more patients coming, they will mainly be responsible for nursing care. Li Fang, you will be in charge of dispensing medications for now."

Zhou Jie stood up, her voice not loud but clear, "My name is Zhou Jie, the 'Jie' of 'clean'. Please take care of me from now on."

Sun Xiaoyan also stood up, only saying three words, "Sun Xiaoyan." After saying that, she sat down, her face still showing that indifferent expression.

Wang Tao clapped first, making a loud clapping sound. Liu Wei also clapped twice, and Li Fang tapped the rim of her bowl with her chopsticks, making a tinkling sound.

Chen Ping then pointed out the people in the room to them one by one, "Dr. Wang Jianwang, he's a senior doctor here, he's been doing this for over twenty years. If there's anything you don't understand, you can ask him."

Wang Jianguo smiled and nodded, gesturing with his chopsticks as a greeting.

"Dr. Liu Wei is your senior in the same department. Ask him if you don't understand anything."

Liu Wei blushed, nodded slightly, and didn't know what to say.

"Li Fang, you two are senior students, the head of the pharmacy. You should learn a lot from her when you're dispensing and preparing medicine."

Li Fang grinned, "If you need anything in the future, just ask me. Unlike some people who only know how to talk big."

As she spoke, she glanced at Wang Tao unintentionally.

Wang Tao's face flushed red, and he glared at Li Fang but dared not retort.

Chen Ping then pointed to Aunt Li at the door, "Aunt Li in the cafeteria, she takes care of our meals. You can tell Aunt Li what you want to eat in the future."

Aunt Li smiled and replied, "If you want to eat anything in the future, just tell me privately, don't be shy."

Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan nodded repeatedly.

When it was Cui Ying's turn, she took the initiative to speak: "My name is Cui Ying, and I'm the accountant at the health center."

"Sister Cui Ying is a wealthy woman in our health center," Wang Tao said.

Cui Ying glared at Wang Tao, who chuckled twice.

At this moment, Zhou Jie looked at Zhou Xiaohe with obvious confusion in her eyes, wondering how there could be a child in the health center's canteen.

"This is Zhou Xiaohe, my relative's child, who will be staying here for a while."

Chen Ping explained that Zhou Xiaohe was not a patient, but rather a relative's child.

He did this to take care of Zhou Xiaohe's feelings and to prevent others from treating Zhou Xiaohe as a patient.

Zhao Guosheng waved his hand and said, "Alright, we're all family, no need to be so polite. Let's eat quickly, we have a lot to do this afternoon."

Only then did everyone pick up their chopsticks.

Wang Tao picked up a piece of braised pork and pushed the plate toward Zhou Jie, saying, "Zhou Jie, you should try this. Aunt Li's braised pork is amazing. You won't find another place in Siping Township that can make it taste like this."

Zhou Jie smiled and said, "Thank you."

Sun Xiaoyan sat beside her, picked up a piece of green vegetable with her chopsticks, chewed it slowly, and didn't say anything.

Seeing her like that, Li Fang leaned close to Chen Ping's ear and whispered, "That Sun Xiaoyan seems a bit unsociable, doesn't she?"

Chen Ping smiled and lowered his voice, saying, "Young people all have their own personalities. They're not familiar with each other yet, but they'll get used to it over time."

After the meal, Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan helped clear the dishes, but Aunt Li chased them out of the kitchen, saying, "It's the first day here, how can you let the guests do chores?"

After finishing his meal, Chen Ping returned to his dormitory, lay on his bed, and closed his eyes, preparing to take a nap.

The sunlight streamed in through the window, warming my skin.

He turned over, his mind racing through the events of the morning. He wondered if the girl with the growth in her uterus would go to a major hospital for a checkup.

As I thought about it, my eyelids grew heavy.

Just as I was drifting off to sleep, there was a knock on the door.

He sat up, rubbed his face, put on his slippers, and went to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan stood in the doorway, both looking a little embarrassed.

Zhou Jie spoke first, a slightly apologetic smile on her face, "Dr. Chen, I'm sorry to disturb your rest. We'd like to go out and buy some things, but we don't know where the supermarket is. Could you take us there?"

Chen Ping checked the time; there was still more than half an hour before his afternoon shift. He nodded and said, "Okay, let's go."

After closing the dormitory door, Chen Ping led Zhou Jie and Sun Xiaoyan toward the entrance of the health center.

As Chen Ping passed by Cui Ying's dormitory, he unconsciously glanced at the window and discovered that Cui Ying was also looking out the window.

The two looked at each other, then quickly looked away.
