He ran into her once last semester at the entrance of the administration building. She was wearing a black dress, and her exposed skin was fair and translucent. As she walked down the steps, the hem of her dress was blown by the wind and clung to her thighs.

He stood next to the BMW X7 and stared at it for a good ten seconds, until it turned the corner and disappeared from sight, before turning away.

Later, he inquired around and found out that the person was a business school counselor named Zhou Mei, who was unmarried.

Aside from classes and the office, I rarely participate in any social activities. I decline school-organized dinners whenever possible, and I seldom attend gatherings with colleagues.

He usually acts like he's unapproachable, but the more he acts like that, the more interesting Wang Qingchen finds him.

A woman you can easily pull into your arms with a wave of your hand is no challenge at all!

If a student gets into trouble, money can settle things.

Teachers are different, especially counselors like Zhou Mei who have a good reputation at school; you can't force them.

That's why we have this dinner today.

Wang Qingchen picked up his wine glass and took a sip. His gaze traveled over the rim of the glass and landed on Zhou Mei's collar, where one button had been undone.

After the other person put down the teacup, they placed their hands together on the table with a very elegant posture!

Fu Yongwei was busy pouring drinks.

First, he filled Wang Qingchen's glass, then turned to Zhou Mei and used the decanter to pour the wine into her empty glass.

"Teacher Zhou, please have just a little. Their red wine is imported from France; it's very smooth and has a mild aftertaste!"

The red wine was poured into the glass, about half full. Zhou Mei glanced at the glass, then looked away, still very wary.

Teacher Wu raised his glass and said with a smile, "Come on, let's have a toast. Director Fu has really gone to great lengths today; I usually don't even dare to come in when I pass by this place."

Several people raised their glasses.

Zhou Mei didn't reach for the wine glass, but instead picked up the teacup next to her, took a couple of sips, and drank the tea.

Seeing this, Fu Yongwei felt relieved and gave Wang Qingchen a look, who quietly gave him a thumbs up.

The original plan was to put something in the teacup; Zhou Mei might not drink the wine he poured, but she would definitely drink the tea the waiter poured.

Moreover, this medicine is imported, colorless and odorless, making it difficult to detect. It only starts to take effect after half an hour.

Zhou Mei didn't notice anyone else and didn't touch her teacup, so Fu Yongwei quickly urged everyone to eat.

The conversation at the dinner table was kept abreast by Teacher Wu and Teacher Sun, with Fu Yongwei occasionally chiming in to steer the conversation toward Wang Qingchen, mentioning what kind of investments Wang Shao had been busy with lately, and that his father, Chairman Wang, planned to donate an experimental building to the school.

Wang Qingchen nodded in agreement, occasionally saying a word or two, but most of the time he just twirled the wine glass in his hand with a faint smile on his lips.

His eyes never left Zhou Mei.

Zhou Mei knew he was watching, but she was helpless. She kept her eyelids down and didn't look at anyone while eating.

She would give a brief reply when someone spoke to her, and she was by no means warm or friendly.

The air conditioning in the private room was on full blast, but Zhou Mei felt a bit thirsty, so she picked up her teacup and took a few more sips.

Seeing this, Fu Yongwei turned to Zhou Mei and whispered, "Teacher Zhou, Young Master Wang is genuinely here to make friends today. All that past stuff is in the past. People have to move on, right?"

Zhou Mei put down her teacup and wiped her mouth with a napkin.

"Director Fu," she finally spoke, her voice low, "I've arrived and eaten. Whether I get a spot on the study tour depends on the school's decision. As for today's meal—"

She paused for a moment.

"That's all for now! I have something to do, so I'll be going now."

The private room was silent for about two seconds.

Fu Yongwei's smile froze for a moment, then quickly returned to normal. He'd only been sitting for a dozen minutes before he was about to leave?

I had to stay a little longer no matter what, so I laughed twice, waved my hand and said, "Teacher Zhou, today is just for lunch, purely for lunch."

As he spoke, he gave Wang Qingchen a look.

Wang Qingchen put down his wine glass, leaned forward, and spoke to Zhou Mei directly for the first time.

"Teacher Zhou, I know you have a problem with me." Her voice was calm and measured, with a deliberate sincerity. "What happened in the past was indeed due to my youthful ignorance and foolishness. But everyone needs a chance to change, don't you think?"

Zhou Mei looked at him without saying a word.

Wang Qingchen took his hands off the table, spread them out, and adopted a frank expression: "This meal was arranged by Lao Fu. I just wanted to get to know Teacher Zhou, nothing more. You can eat and drink as you please, order whatever you like."

After saying that, he pushed the menu in front of Zhou Mei. His movements were natural and considerate, and with the expression on his face that had shed his roguishness, he really looked like the person in the picture.

Zhou Mei's gaze lingered on his face for a second before shifting away. She then stood up, picked up her teacup, and finished the rest of her tea.

But the heat in my heart didn't subside much; instead, my cheeks felt slightly flushed.

Wang Qingchen watched her tilt her head back and drink her tea.

Her neck stretched out in a long, slender line, her throat bobbed slightly, her collarbone was faintly visible below the collar of her burgundy shirt, and a blush rose on her cheeks.

Wang Qingchen reached under the table and wiped the sweat from his palms on his thigh.

It's almost here.

In half an hour, I'll be able to completely win over this aloof and powerful woman, and then I'll let her know the might of this young master!

After putting down her teacup, Zhou Mei picked up her bag and stood up.

Fu Yongwei stood up, his smile widening. He rubbed his hands together in front of him and moved half a step in front of her, blocking her path toward the door.

"Teacher Zhou, we've only just sat down, and the dishes haven't all been served yet. Please sit a little longer, please sit a little longer."

Teacher Wu also stood up from her seat, walked to Zhou Mei's side, took her arm, and said with a smile, "Mei'er, it's rare for you to come out, why go back so early? There's no one waiting for you at home." Teacher Sun remained seated, but her mouth was also busy, echoing, "That's right, that's right."

Zhou Mei's arm was being held by Teacher Wu, and Fu Yongwei was blocking her way.

She stood there, her expression shifting from calm to a suppressed impatience.

I don't know why, but a strange feeling is slowly rising in my body, like it's very hot.

Seeing the three of them supporting each other, Zhou Mei took a deep breath, her voice even colder than before. "I...I'm going to the restroom." After saying that, she pulled her arm out of Teacher Wu's hand, stepped aside to walk past Fu Yongwei, and headed for the door.

Fu Yongwei did not stop him this time.

When a woman says she needs to go to the restroom, a man can't follow her, and he's also afraid she'll become suspicious, so he gives Teacher Wu a wink.

Teacher Wu immediately understood and quickly followed, saying, "I also want to go, let's go together," while putting her hand on Zhou Mei's arm.

The two people left the private room one after the other.

When the door closed, the private room was quiet for about three seconds.

Teacher Sun picked up the wine glass in front of her, downed the rest of the red wine in one gulp, wiped her mouth with a napkin, stood up and picked up her bag.

"Director Fu, the matter is settled. May I leave now?"
