The Secret of the Yoga Club: The Women's Identity is Not Simple
Chapter 6 has a premeditated feel to it.
Lin Feng suddenly realized that he seemed to have never seen Shen Qianqian walk with anyone before.
She ate alone in the cafeteria, occupied a seat alone in the library, and even during breaks between classes, when the girls around her gathered to chat, she would just wear headphones and read books.
I followed Shen Qianqian out of the classroom, keeping a distance of about five or six meters. There were quite a few people in the corridor. My gaze passed over the people in front of me and settled on that light blue figure.
After leaving the teaching building, Shen Qianqian turned onto a tree-lined path. The path was lined with sycamore trees, their leaves thick and lush, allowing sunlight to filter through.
This path leads to the back door, and not many people usually use it.
Lin Feng quickened his pace and, when he was about two meters away from her, finally mustered up the courage to open his mouth.
"Um... Shen Qianqian."
The sound was quieter than I expected.
But Shen Qianqian heard this, stopped walking, and turned around to look at him.
The other person's expression was calm, not in a cold way, but more like they were waiting for him to say something.
Lin Feng walked up to her, but the words he had prepared suddenly vanished when they reached his lips, and he stammered.
"Um... about what just happened..." He scratched the back of his head, his gaze unconsciously drifting to the side. "It really wasn't on purpose. I was running upstairs too fast, and when I turned the corner I didn't see you, and... and we bumped into each other."
Shen Qianqian didn't say anything.
Lin Feng had no choice but to continue, "I... I really wanted to lean against the wall, I definitely didn't mean to take advantage of you."
His ears turned bright red after he said that.
Shen Qianqian looked at him for two seconds.
"Um."
Just one word.
Then she turned around and continued walking forward.
Her ponytail swayed gently behind her head. After taking a few steps, her pace seemed to slow down a little, as if she wanted to turn to look at Lin Feng, but she didn't turn around and quickly returned to her normal speed.
Lin Feng stood there, watching her back turn as she turned the corner and disappeared at the end of the tree-lined path.
He then let out a long breath.
A simple "hmm" should be considered... an acceptance of the apology, right?
Lin Feng rubbed his cheeks, turned around and walked towards the cafeteria, finally feeling relieved.
When I got to the cafeteria entrance, I habitually touched my pocket.
The left side is empty. The right side is also empty.
My phone and keys are here, but my meal card is missing.
He took off his backpack, opened the compartment and rummaged through it, but there was no meal card.
That's strange. Where did they go?
Lin Feng thought about it for a moment. When he hit the corner, he fell to the ground, and the things in his pockets could indeed have slipped out.
Turn around and walk back along the path I had just taken, keeping my head down and staring at the ground. I walked along the tree-lined path all the way to the entrance of the teaching building, and then from the entrance of the teaching building to the stairwell.
still none.
When I got to the third floor, the corridor was empty. The morning classes were over, and it was lunchtime, so most of the students had left.
He walked to the corner where he bumped into Shen Qianqian, squatted down, and carefully searched the ground.
There was nothing there.
What if it fell into the classroom?
Lin Feng pushed open the classroom door and went inside.
I bent over and walked along the row where I had sat. When I got to the corner, I squatted down and looked under the chair.
The meal card lay in the gap between the chair leg and the wall, the blue side facing up.
Lin Feng reached out to grab it, his fingertips just touching the edge of the meal card.
The front door of the classroom was pushed open.
Then came the sound of leather shoes hitting the floor.
Someone has come in?
Lin Feng was squatting under the table, his fingers holding his meal card, and hadn't had time to get up yet.
After the other party entered, they glanced around and, seeing no one was there, made the call with peace of mind.
"Young Master Wang, it's me, Yongwei!"
The sound wasn't loud, but the classroom was too empty, and the echoes clearly reached Lin Feng's ears.
Lin Feng didn't move. He squatted behind the chair and, using the table and chair as cover, peeked through the gap towards the front door.
A man in a dark blue shirt stood by the podium, his back to the window, his phone pressed against his ear.
He was rather thin, with his hair neatly combed and the hem of his shirt tucked into his belt.
Lin Feng recognized this person.
Fu Yongwei, Director of the Business School Office.
At the welcome party, the other party sang a Cantonese song. When we met, they spoke slowly and deliberately, giving the impression of being a very kind teacher.
"Young Master Wang, the venue is set: Boston Grand Hotel, second-floor private room." Fu Yongwei's voice was low, glancing around every now and then. "The time is as we agreed before, 7 PM. The private room I booked is in a secluded spot, not next to the main hall, so there aren't many people passing by, making it absolutely safe."
After hearing what was said on the other end of the phone, Fu Yongwei chuckled, his tone carrying a hint of flattery!
"Don't worry, several teachers have confirmed it, and I've also spoken to Teacher Zhou; she'll definitely be there."
Lin Feng squatted behind the chair, his fingers tightening slightly as he held the meal card.
Teacher Zhou?
Could it be... counselor Zhou Mei?
Fu Yongwei paced back and forth by the podium, the sound of his leather shoes clicking on the floor echoing in the empty classroom.
I listened to the person on the other end of the phone for a while, and then lowered my voice.
"I've made all the arrangements in advance, there won't be any problems."
"Young Master Wang, the matter of the vice dean... there's no rush! We'll talk about it after everything is settled."
He chuckled again as he spoke, but there was something about his laughter that made Lin Feng uncomfortable.
"Okay, that's settled then. See you tonight."
Fu Yongwei hung up the phone and put it in his pocket. He stood by the podium for a few seconds, his gaze sweeping over the empty classroom.
Lin Feng quickly shrank back behind the chair leg.
Fu Yongwei tapped the table a few times with his phone before turning around and pushing open the classroom door. The sound of his leather shoes gradually faded away down the corridor.
The classroom fell silent again.
Lin Feng slowly stood up and put his meal card in his pocket.
The Boston Grand Hotel.
He knew that hotel; it was just two streets away from the north gate of the school, and it was the most expensive hotel in the university town area.
I had a customer who worked here before, and I often heard her talk about how scary the prices were.
How high could Fu Yongwei's salary be, as the head of a department office? How could he possibly invite several teachers to dinner at a place like that?
And then there's that line, "Vice Dean...we'll talk about it after it's done..."
It sounds like a conspiracy no matter how you look at it.
Lin Feng stood in the empty classroom, analyzing what Director Fu had just said in his mind.
Something felt off. Although Zhou Mei was usually fierce, she was actually the kind of person who was cold on the outside but warm on the inside.
Upon learning that there were several students in the class who were from impoverished families, she handled all the applications for financial aid herself, and would occasionally call them to her office to inquire about their living conditions.
at night?
Should we go to the Boston Hotel, just in case it really is a premeditated plot...?
Then Teacher Zhou is in big danger!
