The Secret of the Yoga Club: The Women's Identity is Not Simple
Chapter 7 Forest Peninsula Private Club
Lin Feng put his meal card in his pocket and walked out of the classroom, the words Fu Yongwei had said on the phone still echoing in his mind.
As he walked down the stairs and pushed open the door of the teaching building, the midday sun made him squint.
Standing on the steps, I thought for a moment, then took out my phone and took a screenshot of the Boston Grand Hotel's location.
Anyway, I'll go check it out after the interview this afternoon. Zhou Mei may be fierce at times, but she has indeed helped the class a lot.
If there was anything fishy going on, he could at least have given Zhou Mei a heads-up beforehand.
I put my phone back in my pocket and walked towards the cafeteria.
The cafeteria was crowded at the moment, with long queues at the food counters. Lin Feng swiped his meal card, ordered a plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes and a plate of shredded potatoes, and found a corner to sit down with his tray.
The surroundings were noisy, with the sounds of chopsticks hitting bowls and people chatting all mixed together.
After finishing your meal, take your tray to the recycling area and walk out of the cafeteria towards the school gate.
The original yoga studio was in another direction from the school, three streets away. After walking for about fifteen minutes, I pushed open the glass door of the studio. Xiao Zhang at the front desk was looking down at her phone. She looked up when she heard the door open.
"Raymond Lam? Didn't you have no classes today?"
"I'm here to resign." Lin Feng walked to the front desk and handed over the resignation application he had written in advance.
Xiao Zhang took it, glanced at it, opened his mouth as if to say something, but then swallowed it back.
She had worked there for more than half a year and had a fairly good relationship with Lin Feng. Seeing him leave like this, she was still a little reluctant to let him go.
She bent down, pulled a form from the drawer, and pushed it in front of him.
"Fill this out. The manager isn't here today. He said before he left that if you're going to resign, you can just let me handle it, since you were only on temporary assignment anyway."
Lin Feng took the form and lay down on the table to fill it out.
Name, reason for leaving, last working day—these few lines were written quickly. After filling it out, he pushed it back, checked it, signed his name at the bottom, and then put the form in the drawer.
"Alright." She looked up at Lin Feng, a hint of reluctance in her eyes. "What are your plans for the future?"
"I found a new job and I'm going for an interview this afternoon. I wonder if I'll get it!"
"That's good." Xiao Liu smiled. "With your skills, it's a waste of your talent to work here."
Lin Feng smiled and responded, then turned and walked inside.
There were two familiar instructors in the yoga studio who were tidying up props. They both stopped what they were doing when they saw him come in.
I spoke a few words to each of them.
Lin Feng walked around the studio and took one last look at the classroom where he had been taking classes for more than a year.
I really am a little reluctant to part with it.
But no matter how reluctant we are to part with it, life must go on!
Lin Feng waved to the group and went out through the glass door.
I walked out onto the street, took out my phone to check the time: 2:02 PM. I had enough time.
Open the map navigation and enter "Forest Peninsula No. 3 Clubhouse". The route on the screen indicates that you need to take the subway, which will take about 20 minutes.
I put the earphones in my ears and followed the navigation to the subway station.
The subway wasn't crowded, so he found a seat near the door, leaned against the wall, and watched the lights in the tunnel rush past the window.
Twenty minutes later, the subway announced the station: Forest Peninsula Station. I stood up, got off the train, and walked out of the exit. Suddenly, the view opened up before me.
He had only passed through the Forest Peninsula once before and had never been inside.
The most famous high-end consumption area in the western part of Hehai City is built on a peninsula-shaped plot of land, surrounded by water on three sides, with an astonishingly high green coverage rate.
Both sides of the road are lined with plane trees, with thick trunks and neatly trimmed crowns.
There was a faint scent of grass and trees in the air, mixed with the fragrance of flowers that seemed to drift in from somewhere.
Lin Feng walked along the sidewalk. The green belts on both sides of the road were trimmed into various shapes, and the grass on the lawn grew densely.
It took about five minutes to reach the main entrance, a stone gatehouse with the words "Forest Peninsula" engraved on it. Two uniformed security guards stood next to the guardhouse.
Lin Feng walked over, and the security guard looked him up and down before reaching out to stop him.
"Hello, sir! Please show me your work ID."
"I'm here for an interview." Lin Feng showed the address on his phone: "Club No. 3, Ruoxi Yoga Studio."
The security guard took the phone, glanced at it, looked at him again, turned around and went into the guardhouse, picked up the landline and dialed a number.
After a few seconds, the call connected, and the security guard said, "There's an interviewee named Lin Feng." After listening to the other person say a few more words, he hung up.
"Please register me." The security guard pushed over a notebook and a pen.
Lin Feng wrote down his name, ID number, mobile phone number, and reason for visiting. The security guard checked it, took the notebook back, and pointed to something inside.
"This is a commercial street in front, and a clubhouse area behind. There are five clubhouses in total, and the one you're going to is the third one. Just keep walking along this road, and turn right after you pass the commercial street."
Lin Feng thanked him and went inside.
The shops on both sides of the commercial street all had small storefronts but exquisite decorations. He didn't even recognize many of the brands in the shop windows.
There weren't many people on the street, but everyone's clothes looked expensive. Lin Feng looked down at his new sneakers and felt completely out of place compared to them.
I quickened my pace, crossed the commercial street, and turned right into the clubhouse area.
The greenery here is even denser than outside. Tall camphor trees are planted on both sides of the road, their canopies intertwining overhead, turning the entire road into a green corridor.
Lin Feng couldn't help but take a breath.
The fresh scent of grass and trees in the air was even stronger, and it felt cool and refreshing when you breathed it in.
As you walk along the road, passing Club No. 1 and Club No. 2, you see several black and white cars parked in front of them.
He didn't know much about cars, but he recognized the logos of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Porsche. A white Porsche drove past him, its wheels making a low thud as it turned into the underground parking garage entrance towards Clubhouse No. 3.
After walking for about five more minutes, a four-story building appeared at the end of the road.
The entire building is in a European style, with beige stone exterior walls and four white pillars on the porch of the main entrance, the capitals of which are carved with patterns.
The roof is a gray-blue pitched roof with several dormer windows. The windows are all floor-to-ceiling, and the glass is spotless.
Lin Feng stood at the gate for a moment.
A brass plaque hung above the porch, engraved with "Club No. 3". Two security guards in black uniforms stood ramrod straight on either side of the main entrance.
Lin Feng took a deep breath and walked up.
"Hello, I'm here for an interview at Ruoxi Yoga Studio." Lin Feng showed the address on his phone again.
The security guard on the left took the phone, glanced at it, and then picked up the walkie-talkie and whispered a few words. A female voice replied from the walkie-talkie. After listening, the security guard nodded to Lin Feng and stepped aside.
"Sir, please go inside and go up to the third floor."
Lin Feng nodded and pushed the door open to go inside.
The hall has a ceiling that is almost two stories high, and a huge crystal chandelier hangs from the ceiling. The light shines on the crystal and refracts into tiny fragments of light, making the whole hall bright.
The floor is paved with white marble. To the left is the dining area, and to the right is a pair of dark wooden doors that are closed. A small brass plaque hangs on the doorknob and reads "Members Area".
Lin Feng didn't dare to look too long. His gaze swept back and forth between the floor and the chandelier before he looked away and walked quickly toward the elevator with his head down.
I stepped into the elevator and went up to the third floor.
He was the only person in the elevator.
