Wizard: I Have a Nightmare World
Chapter 51 You don't hit a smiling face, but you'll hit someone if they offer their face.
On the morning of the seventh day, the remaining twenty-four apprentices of White Raven Tower finally arrived at the outpost.
Lynn stood at the entrance of the supply distribution area, gazing into the distance toward the teleportation platform, where he saw a group of apprentices dressed in white robes of the Raven Warriors file out.
Most of them looked tired and nervous, and some even had bloodstains on their robes, indicating that they had encountered some accident during the teleportation.
However, before the apprentices at White Raven Tower could settle in, trouble struck.
A third-class apprentice from Steelscale Academy, the same crew-cut youth who had bumped into Lynn's shoulder earlier, was blocking the entrance to the White Raven Tower Academy's temporary barracks with seven or eight other people.
Several apprentices from Moon Ring Academy stood at a distance, arms crossed, watching the show. Although they didn't directly make a move, their posture clearly showed that they were there to support Steel Scale Academy.
"Yo, the White Raven Tower trash has finally all arrived?"
"I thought you guys got carried away by a totem beast on the way."
The young man with a buzz cut crossed his arms and spoke softly, but loud enough for everyone around him to hear.
The apprentices of White Raven Tower immediately turned pale. A tall male apprentice stepped forward and said coldly:
"Steel-scaled, what do you mean?"
"What do you mean?"
The young man with the buzz cut sneered and took a step forward.
"It means that you people from White Raven Tower are not worthy to stand in this outpost."
"During the last expedition, you seized our plane and killed our people. We haven't settled that score yet."
Among these White Raven Tower apprentices, some clearly knew about this and spoke up to refute it:
"The cause of that conflict and who was right and wrong are still undetermined, so what right do you have to..."
"On what grounds?" The crew-cut youth interrupted the other man, raising his right hand abruptly. A yellowish-brown magical light condensed in his palm, instantly transforming into a half-meter-long stone spear, pointing directly at the male apprentice who had spoken.
"Because I have the biggest fist!"
The atmosphere instantly became tense.
Although the White Raven Tower apprentices outnumbered the rest, Lynn could tell at a glance that the overall quality of these apprentices was indeed poor.
Of the twenty-four people, the vast majority were second-class apprentices, while there were only four third-class apprentices. The mental energy fluctuations of those four third-class apprentices were very unstable, indicating that they had just broken through and had not yet had time to stabilize their spiritual energy.
On the other hand, Steel Scale Academy only had seven or eight people, but three of them were third-class apprentices. Moreover, each of them had a steady and solid mental energy fluctuation, clearly indicating that they were veteran third-class apprentices who had been honed over a long period of time.
If the two sides really fight, White Raven Tower will most likely be crushed.
Sure enough, the conflict escalated into a melee within minutes.
The three third-class apprentices from Steelscale Academy worked together seamlessly. One of them used earth magic to create a shield for defense, another used wind magic to interfere and restrain them, and the third directly charged into the crowd of White Raven Tower, punching several second-class apprentices one by one, sending them flying backward.
Although the apprentices from Moon Ring Academy did not directly participate in the battle, they whispered among themselves and occasionally let out mocking laughter. Those laughs pierced the hearts of the White Raven Tower apprentices like knives.
In less than ten minutes, thirteen of the twenty-four people from White Raven Tower had fallen.
The remaining eleven men were forced to retreat into the barracks, blocking the entrance with tables, chairs, and other debris, looking utterly disheveled.
The young man with a buzz cut stood at the entrance of the barracks, kicked away the wooden table blocking the door, and looked down at the White Crow Tower apprentices huddled together inside, a disdainful sneer on his lips.
"That's it? With this level of skill, you dare to come to the Astral Expedition? You should go back to White Raven Tower and wash bottles!"
None of the apprentices at White Raven Tower dared to utter a sound.
Of the four third-class apprentices, two had already been injured, and the remaining two had ashen faces and were grinding their teeth, but they did not have the courage to rush out again.
Seeing that they dared not fight back, the young man with the buzz cut smiled mockingly and prepared to turn and leave.
But he stopped after taking only two steps.
His gaze fell on the gray-brown building where the Seventh Logistics Squad's supplies distribution center was located not far away.
"The Seventh Logistics Squad?"
He muttered something under his breath, a more malevolent smile creeping onto his lips.
"I heard that team also has a potion master from the White Raven Tower, right?"
An apprentice from Ganglin Academy standing nearby nodded.
"Yes, he's a third-class apprentice named Lynn, who is said to be a disciple of the Bloodvine Wizard."
As the person next to him said this, the young man with the buzz cut narrowed his eyes and immediately remembered the scene from before.
"Then we should definitely pay a visit."
He led his men straight toward the supplies distribution center.
Meanwhile, Lynn had already returned to the hall from the chaotic scene and was looking through the totem herb atlas.
Du Wei was fiddling with a bunch of mechanical parts in the corner, Cullen was lying on a bench with his eyes closed, and Scarlett was still sitting against the wall, like a silent statue.
They had heard the fighting outside long ago, but no one went out to check.
"Aren't you going out to take a look?"
Lynn looked up and glanced at Du Wei.
Du Wei didn't even look up; the screwdriver in his hand was still spinning.
"The Steelscale and Moonring people teach the apprentices of White Raven Tower a lesson."
"This kind of thing has existed since the day the outpost was established, so it's not surprising."
"So we're just going to watch like this?"
"Lynn asked."
"It depends. If the people from White Raven Tower cause trouble and get beaten up, what does it have to do with us?"
"But if they come to our doorstep, that's a different story."
Du Wei's tone was as calm as if he were describing how sunny the weather was today.
No sooner had the words left his mouth than the door to the supplies distribution center was kicked open from the outside.
With a loud bang, the two metal doors slammed against the wall, making a piercing crashing sound.
The half-inch youth strode in, followed by six apprentices from the Steel Scale Academy.
Their gazes swept around the hall before finally settling on Lynn.
"Kid, do you remember me?"
Lynn slowly closed the diagram in his hand, raised his head, and looked calmly at the other person with his dark purple pupils.
"What's up?"
"Something's wrong!"
The half-inch youth walked up to Lynn and looked down at him.
"I heard you're a potion master? Then you must be quite a fighter, considering that Bloodvine wizard was really fierce when he was fighting for a dimension back then."
His tone was full of provocation, and several Steelscale Academy apprentices behind him let out low snickers.
Lynn didn't speak, but his hands slowly clenched into fists.
Seeing that he didn't speak, the half-inch youth thought he had backed down, and arrogantly reached out a hand to push him in the chest.
"What? You're mute..."
Before he could finish speaking, before his hand could even touch Lynn's chest, a larger and stronger hand grabbed his wrist.
Kulen had stood up at some point, and his large hands gripped the young man's wrists tightly, the force so great that the young man's arms made a slight grinding sound from his knuckles.
"Hey, are you in the wrong place?"
Kulen grinned, revealing a set of white teeth.
The young man's expression changed as he tried to break free, but Kulen's strength was astonishing, and he couldn't break free even after two attempts.
"open!"
The half-inch youth roared.
Kulen did not let go, but turned to look at Du Wei.
Du Wei finally put down the screwdriver, stood up, dusted off the metal shavings from his hands, and still wore that gentle, shy smile.
But for some reason, the smile on his face at that moment sent a chill down the spines of all the steel nail apprentices, including the crew-cut youth.
"Gentlemen."
Du Wei walked up to the young man with the buzz cut, his voice still gentle.
"I used to think that since we were all branches of the Sotal Holy Mystic Academy, we would run into each other all the time, so I would just tolerate some things and give you some face."
His smile faded slightly, and his tone became calmer.
"But have you forgotten how our Seventh Logistics Team accumulated those three disciplinary actions?"
The hall fell silent for a moment.
The young man with the buzz cut suddenly narrowed his pupils, as if he had remembered something, and his face turned somewhat pale.
Du Wei didn't give him a chance to speak, continuing in that calm tone:
"Steelscale Academy's seventh seat and Moon Ring Academy's fourth seat are indeed ranked much higher than our White Raven Tower's thirteenth seat."
"But that's just the overall ranking of the academy, not a ranking of your individual abilities."
His gaze swept across the faces of all the Steel Scale apprentices present, and he said, word by word:
"Here, your ranking... is determined by us."
The next second, Du Wei moved.
He didn't chant any magic spells, or even emit any runic glow; he simply delivered a straight punch to the crew-cut youth's chest.
But that seemingly ordinary punch carried terrifying power.
The young man with the buzz cut was sent flying backward as if hit by a battering ram. He smashed through the door behind him, knocked over a Steel Scale apprentice outside the door, and finally crashed heavily into the wall of the opposite building. He slid to the ground, coughed up blood, and fainted on the spot.
"Kullen, close the door!"
Du Wei clapped his hands, his tone still gentle.
Kulen grinned, strode to the door, closed the two doors that had been kicked back, then turned to face the five or six dumbfounded Steel Scale apprentices, crossed his arms, and blocked the doorway like a wall.
"Since you're here, don't be in such a hurry to leave."
Du Wei walked up to a trembling Steel Scale apprentice, patted him on the shoulder, and smiled broadly.
"After all... the Seventh Logistics Squad hasn't stretched its muscles in a long time."
Five minutes later, six people lay sprawled outside the supply distribution center. They were the Steel Scale Apprentices, none of them able to stand.
Meanwhile, the young man with the buzz cut who was the first to be blasted away by a punch was being carried by Kulen like a chick and thrown to the entrance of the supply distribution area.
Du Wei walked out the door, stood on the steps and looked around. More and more apprentices were gathering around him, some from Steelscale, some from Moon Ring, and some from White Raven Tower.
He cleared his throat; his voice wasn't loud, but it reached everyone's ears clearly.
"The Seventh Logistics Squad is not afraid of trouble, they just hate trouble."
He paused, his gaze sweeping over everyone present, then grinned.
"But since someone is practically offering their face to us, it would be too disrespectful of us not to accept it."
In the distance, within the Moon Ring Academy camp, an apprentice who appeared to be the leader changed his expression, and finally waved his hand, quietly leading his men away.
Meanwhile, the apprentices of White Raven Tower, who had previously been bullied and unable to lift their heads, were now staring wide-eyed at the scene unfolding at the entrance of the supply distribution center.
Lynn stood behind Du Wei, looking at the slightly chubby boy who still had a gentle smile on his face, and a strange feeling stirred in her heart.
He had initially thought this logistics team was just a makeshift group of odd jobs, but only now did he realize that none of them were easy to deal with.
Cullen is a muscular yet cunning chariot of brute force;
Scarlett may seem indifferent, but she actually sees through everything.
Fei Qing was in charge of logistics and coordination; she was tactful and experienced.
Du Wei, the seemingly most bullied and gentle captain, is actually the fiercest one. He's an alchemist with one foot in the first ring, who sent a third-class apprentice flying with a single punch. He's also carrying a disciplinary record from the Holy Mystic Academy, yet he doesn't care at all.
Lynn suddenly became curious about what the Seventh Logistics Team had done to deserve those three disciplinary actions.
"Yay! That's it, little fatty, Amber has high hopes for you!"
