Wizard: I Have a Nightmare World

Chapter 52 The Troublemaker Squad

A clear, crisp sound suddenly rang out in the quiet hall, like someone ringing a string of silver bells.

Du Wei had just finished clapping and was about to turn around when he heard this voice. He froze for a moment, then turned his head sharply, his gaze sweeping towards the source of the voice: Lynn's inner breast pocket.

Cullen turned his head at the same time, and even Scarlett, who was leaning against the corner of the wall, opened her eyes. All three of them looked at Lynn.

Lynn's heart skipped a beat.

Amber! Why did this girl speak up at this crucial moment?!

But he remained expressionless, only glancing down at the slightly bulging pocket on his chest.

A small tuft of emerald green hair and a bright little eye peeked out from the edge of the pocket.

Amber poked half her head out, looking excitedly toward the doorway, clearly unaware of the trouble she had caused.

"Lynn".

"There seems to be something talking in your pocket?"

Du Wei raised his eyebrows slightly, a half-smile on his face.

Lynn paused for two seconds, then reached out and gently patted his pocket.

Amber then realized what was happening, her whole body stiffened, and she quickly shrunk back into her pocket, but it was too late.

Cullen's burly figure had already moved closer, like a curious bear, bending down and staring into Lynn's pocket with eyes as big as copper bells.

"What is it? It can talk? A pet?"

Kulen's voice was full of curiosity.

Lynn sighed, knowing he couldn't hide it any longer, and simply reached into his pocket and pulled the amber out.

He held Amber by the scruff of her neck and lifted her into the air. Her four transparent wings fluttered involuntarily, and her emerald green skin shone with a soft luster under the light.

Its bright, sparkling eyes blinked twice, and it looked timidly at the faces of the three strangers in front of it. It shrank back and clung to Lynn's fingers.

"A garden fairy?!"

"Alive? And a living garden fairy at that?!"

Du Wei's pupils dilated suddenly, his voice filled with disbelief and shock.

"You've seen it before?"

"Lynn asked."

Du Wei took a deep breath, suppressing his shock, and slowly walked up to Lynn, carefully examining Amber.

"I've seen it recorded; I saw it in the Astral Creatures Atlas in the Academy Library."

"Garden fairies are native to the secondary elemental planes and are extremely rare. Because they have a natural affinity for herb cultivation, they have been captured to near extinction in the wizarding world."

He looked up at Lynn, his eyes filled with a hint of respect.

"You actually managed to contract one? And she's even willing to follow you? How did you do that?"

Before Lynn could answer, Cullen couldn't resist reaching out his finger to poke Amber's little face.

Amber screamed in fright and flew behind Lynn's shoulder, only half of her head showing as she warily stared at Cullen's thick finger.

"Don't touch her, she's shy."

Lynn slapped Cullen's hand away.

Kulen wasn't annoyed; instead, he chuckled.

"Interesting, very interesting. We've already encountered a garden fairy before this expedition has even begun. It looks like our seventh logistics team's luck is about to turn around."

No sooner had he finished speaking than a figure appeared silently beside Lynn.

Scarlett, the usually taciturn, statue-like archer girl, had somehow left the corner and walked over to Lynn's side.

Her deep gray eyes stared intently at the amber behind Lynn's shoulder, a light that defied description.

Then, she did something that surprised everyone present.

She stretched out her finger, her movements very light and slow, as if afraid of disturbing a butterfly, and took a feather from her quiver. It was a bird feather with a pale blue sheen, and it was very well maintained.

Scarlett handed the feather to Amber.

Amber initially shrank back warily, but was quickly drawn to the luster of the feather.

She carefully reached out her little hand and touched the edge of the feather, then her eyes lit up, and she hugged the feather to her chest, letting out a pleasant hum.

Scarlett's lips curled up slightly at that moment.

Although the smile was extremely brief and fleeting, Kuren, standing to the side, stared wide-eyed as if he had seen a ghost, and stammered:

"Scarlett... Scarlett, you just... laughed?"

Scarlett ignored him, simply withdrawing her hand and saying something to Lynn indifferently.

"She likes sparkly things. In the totem world, there is a totem beast called the Lightfeather Bird, whose feathers suit her very well."

After saying that, she turned around, walked back to the corner, sat down again, and closed her eyes, as if nothing had happened.

Lynn looked at Amber, who was holding a feather in her arms and looked satisfied, and then at the seemingly indifferent but actually meticulous archer in the corner. He gained a deeper understanding of this team.

Du Wei watched this scene, stroked his chin, and suddenly laughed:

"Since Amber is your contracted partner, then she is a member of our Seventh Logistics Team."

Hearing this, Amber peeked out from behind the feathers, glanced at Du Wei, and whispered:

"Hey chubby, you're actually a pretty good guy."

Du Wei's smile froze for a moment, and Kuren immediately clutched his stomach and burst into laughter.

"Little fatty! Hahahaha! Du Wei, you've finally met your match!"

Du Wei's lips twitched slightly. He quickly stuffed the amber back into his pocket and warned her in a low voice not to say anything out of line.

Amber muttered aggrievedly, "He's clearly a little fatso," then shrugged back into her pocket and fell silent.

After Amber's outburst, the atmosphere in the hall actually became much more relaxed.

Lynn seized the opportunity to ask the question that had been lingering in his mind:

"Speaking of which, what exactly were those three disciplinary actions you mentioned earlier?"

Upon hearing this, Du Wei's lips curled into a playful smile.

He walked to a table, sat down, crossed his legs, and said slowly, "You really want to know?"

Lynn nodded.

Kulen put down the kettle, grinned, and spoke before Du Wei could:

"Let me say it!"

"First, before our last expedition, we severely injured the captain of a Steelscale Academy squad. That bastard provoked us first; we were just retaliating."

"Secondly, during our last expedition, we seized a resource point from the Moon Ring Academy. It was unclaimed land; whoever got there first got it. But they were dissatisfied and went to the academy's higher-ups to complain."

"third……"

Du Wei picked up the conversation, his tone still relaxed and casual, as if he were talking about a trivial matter.

"Third, during a battle for a dimensional portal, Cullen, Scarlett, and I beheaded the leader of the native inhabitants of another medium-sized plane and threw the head at the entrance of the Steel Scale and Moon Ring joint squad's camp as a warning to them not to try and take it."

Linn was silent.

He now finally understood why the crew-cut youth from Steel Scale Academy had turned pale when he heard about the "three punishments".

The Seventh Logistics Squad is not some kind of logistics errand boy, but rather a blade in White Raven Tower's hand, a sharp weapon specifically used to deal with rival departments.

These four people are all real troublemakers.

He himself seemed to have been drawn into this group of troublemakers.

Lynn didn't care about this at all; on the contrary, she enjoyed it.

……

Time flies, and three days passed in the blink of an eye.

On the morning of the third day, the atmosphere at the outpost became tense.

All the apprentices were summoned to the central square of the outpost and stood in a neat square formation.

In the center of the square, six silver-white dimensional portals have been completely stabilized, like six mercury mirrors floating in mid-air, emitting a deep, eerie light.

"The first team to enter the Totem World, step forward!"

In front of the square, a formal wizard dressed in a dark blue robe shouted loudly.

Du Wei took a deep breath and whispered to the four people behind him, "Let's go, time to get to work."

The five members of the Seventh Logistics Team—Du Wei, Ku Lun, Scarlett, Fei Qing, and Lynn—stood tall as they walked out of the crowd and headed toward the central dimensional portal.

Lynn stood in front of the passageway, glanced back at the gray-brown sky behind him, and a strange feeling suddenly welled up in his heart.

Du Wei, who was standing next to him, patted him on the shoulder and grinned.

"Welcome to the Seventh Logistics Squad, the most troublesome team at the Sotal Holy Mystic Academy."

Lynn's lips curled slightly as he stepped into the silvery-white light.

The light overwhelmed him.

At the edge of the plaza, the apprentices who had just joined forces with the Moon Ring watched the Seventh Squad disappear, their expressions varying. Some were uncertain, some looked fearful, and some gritted their teeth in secret.

But everyone knows one thing:

Those troublemakers have entered the Totem World, and the native inhabitants of the Totem World are going to be in big trouble!
