Pei Jin placed Bai Tao on the bed, looked down at her, and patted her bottom through the blanket.

"Go inside to sleep, baby."

Bai Tao obediently moved a couple of steps inside, then pulled the blanket up to cover her nose, leaving only her bright, sparkling eyes showing.

Pei Jin went to turn off the lights and casually lowered the temperature of the air conditioner fan.

"What's wrong?"

Hearing the beeping sound of the appliances, Bai Tao looked up and asked.

Pei Jin shook his head. "It's nothing, I just bumped into it by accident."

Pei Jin paused as he passed the floral fabric, his hand stopping the instant it touched the edge.

He glanced at the floral fabric that had been hanging there for months, then lowered his hand without putting it down.

Finally, we don't need to put up curtains anymore.

Bai Tao was almost asleep, but now lying in bed with the mattress next to her slightly sunken, she was so nervous that she didn't dare to move at all, and even her breathing became light and slow.

Pei Jin lay down and didn't move again, as if he had fallen asleep.

He truly kept his word; he said he wouldn't do anything, and he didn't do anything.

There's no condom in the basement; if things get out of hand, he'll be the one who suffers.

Bai Tao kept suppressing her breathing until she was sure Pei Jin really wouldn't do anything, then she slowly relaxed.

The moment Bai Tao's breathing became even, Pei Jin opened his eyes, taking a few moments to adjust to the darkness.

Then he gently lifted one side of his blanket and covered a corner of Bai Tao's blanket.

He slowly moved a little further to the middle of the bed, filling the gap between the two blankets.

The trap is all set, just waiting for the silly baby to take the bait.

In the early hours of the morning, Bai Tao turned over in her sleep and slowly crawled into Pei Jin's bed through the crack.

I've been waiting for you for a long time.

Pei Jin opened his eyes in the darkness, the excitement and anticipation in them swallowed up by the night.

He stretched out his arm and pulled Bai Tao into his embrace, while using his other hand to push Bai Tao's own blanket to the side of the bed, leaving it piled up alone on the edge.

Bai Tao felt a little cold and subconsciously moved closer to the heat source next to her.

Pei Jin embraced her contentedly, his chin resting on the top of her head, his breath falling between her hair strands.

Now I can sleep with my wife in my arms without any problem.

When Pei Jin's alarm clock rang, Bai Tao frowned and stirred.

It's such a strange feeling. Half of my body is on a mattress, and the other half feels like human flesh, warm and rising and falling slightly with my breathing.

She looked up and found herself lying on top of Pei Jin, their bodies pressed together tightly through the thin fabric.

Pei Jin tilted his head back, then leaned down and kissed her before she was fully awake. His lips brushed against her forehead, his voice hoarse from just waking up.

"What's wrong, baby?"

Can someone explain this?

Why is she sleeping in the same bed as Pei Jin?!

Even though we both used separate blankets before going to bed last night!

Pei Jin turned off the alarm clock, gently supported her waist, and lowered her off him. He then casually covered her shoulders with the blanket again and patted her gently.

"Go back to sleep, baby, I'm going to make dinner."

Bai Tao lay on the bed and looked down at the blanket covering her.

It belongs to Pei Jin, not hers.

So, she accidentally ended up in someone else's bed last night while she was sleeping, right?

She closed her eyes and sighed silently in the darkness.

White Peach, White Peach, even if you've had those dreams a few times, you should still be a little more reserved!

While the rice was cooking in the pot, Pei Jin came over and started to kiss Bai Tao.

Bai Tao dodged away while covering her mouth with one hand.

"Pei Jin, I haven't brushed my teeth yet."

Her voice came through her palm, muffled.

"I'll carry you there."

Pei Jin bent down, his arm passing under her, as if to lift her up completely.

Bai Tao lightly punched him, her fist landing on his shoulder with little force.

"I want to sleep!"

"Kiss and then sleep."

After saying that, he picked her up, and Bai Tao's legs instinctively wrapped around his waist, hanging on him like a koala.

As it turned out, she couldn't sleep after the kiss, especially since Pei Jin had coaxed Bai Tao to finish her meal.

Waking up so early, Bai Tao suddenly found herself with nothing to do.

She leaned on the sofa armrest, her chin resting on her crossed arms, looking at the gold chain Pei Jin had given her on her wrist.

Pei Jin's workplace is too far away, so I can't spend too much time with her in the mornings. It seems I need to find a place nearby and move there as soon as possible...

Everyone could sense Pei Jin's good mood today, and the one who felt it most clearly was Chi Shibao.

He had only five days left until his defense, and he made a really stupid mistake.

Pei Jin didn't point out the mistakes as he usually did, and then he said that the Chi family was doomed because the Chi family was not paying attention.

Instead, after listening, she paused for a moment, then calmly comforted him.

"Take another look at this part, no rush."

In truth, Pei Jin genuinely felt that there were only two days left and there was no hope.

Chi Shibao was stunned for a moment after hearing this. "Wow, so gentle?"

"Teacher Pei, did you succeed in confessing your feelings?"

"Um."

Upon hearing Chi Shibao mention this, Pei Jin's voice carried a hint of barely concealed amusement.

"Then why don't you post on WeChat Moments?"

Chi Shibao's voice came through the earphones, sounding very anxious.

"How am I supposed to know you confessed your feelings and got a girlfriend if you don't post it on your WeChat Moments?"

I don't have WeChat Moments.

"How can that be? The trend now is to post about your relationship on social media, letting everyone know you have a partner, understand?"

Pei Jin frowned and thought for a moment.

Chi Shibao's words make a lot of sense, but Bai Tao didn't mention it.

Chi Shibao didn't hear a reply for a while, and thinking it was a bad signal, he shouted loudly in the living room.

"If you don't go public, are you trying to bait people into thinking you're single so they'll keep pursuing you? You jerk!"

Pei Jin moved the headphones further away; it was too noisy.

He glanced at the time; it was time to call, so he hung up.

As Chi Shibao was speaking, he heard a "beep" sound. He looked at his phone and saw that the other party had hung up.

He stared at the screen for two seconds.

"6"

Pei family —

The sound of porcelain shattering came from the study.

Hearing the noise, the maid outside paused, her heart skipped a beat, and then she lowered her head and took half a step back, pretending she hadn't heard anything.

The next second, Pei Che pushed the door open from the inside, making a big movement, and the door slammed against the wall, making a loud noise.

As he walked out, he turned back and shouted into the study, his voice filled with barely suppressed anger.

"If you like your other son so much, why did you bring me back? That's all I'm capable of!"

He practically roared it out, the veins on his neck bulging slightly and clearly visible.

He joined the company this week, and Pei Shengli assigned him the job of an assembly line worker.

He couldn't even get an internship at the company, under the pretext of letting him learn about their products first.

On the assembly line, everyone can point fingers at him. He stands next to the conveyor belt for ten hours a day, repeating the same action, without even a place to sit down and rest.

He'd really had enough.

After a week of work, Pei Shengli called him back to share his insights.

What insights could he possibly gain?

I'm exhausted every day, and all I want to do after work is sleep.

He couldn't explain it, and Pei Shengli coldly remarked that he was not as good as Pei Jin.

Yang Man stood downstairs and, hearing the commotion upstairs, gently placed the coaster she was holding onto the table.

She looked up and saw her own son coming downstairs, looking upset. She went to greet him with tears in her eyes.

She always felt indebted to this son.

Pei Che saw his mother walk forward, the anger in her eyes not completely dissipated, but then she suddenly turned her head, as if she had thought of something.

He stopped, his voice lowered, and there was a hint of pleading in his tone.

"Mom, could you help me find out what Pei Jin is doing?"

Yang Man looked at him, her gaze lingering on his face for a moment, but she didn't answer immediately.

She pulled his hand to hers, held it in her palm, and gently patted it.

"You're tired, take a rest first."
