The burly man in the lead bent down and rubbed his toes, his eyes practically spitting fire.

"Surround them! Don't let them escape!"

The burly men continued to tighten the encirclement.

Niannian squeezed through the gap between the two people, tripping the person on the left in the process.

The man didn't watch his step and stumbled forward a few steps before regaining his balance.

"Oh dear, Uncle, please be careful when you walk. Even if you don't bump into anyone, it's still my fault if you step on the flowers and plants!"

She was spouting nonsense with a straight face.

Xiao Xiao was surrounded by two people. She squatted down, and the two people's hands grabbed at empty air.

As he stood up, he plopped down on the ground, hugged his knees, and shouted:

"Oops, I fell down..."

The two burly men instinctively reached out to help her up, but she quickly scrambled to her feet, dusted herself off, and said:

"It's okay, it doesn't hurt at all."

Luo Nannan was blocked by a person who reached out to grab her shoulder. She didn't dodge; she just stood there staring at the person.

The man was a little confused by her gaze and paused for a moment: "What are you looking at?"

You have a mole on your face.

"What?"

There is a very small mole above the right eyebrow.

Luo Nannan thought for a moment, then made conversation by saying, "Your mole is very well-placed."

The person's hand hovered in mid-air, unsure whether to grab or not.

He scratched his eyebrow and took a step back.

Xiao Jin wasn't so polite; he was chased by a burly man for half an alley, shouting as he ran:

"Can't catch up, can't catch up, nyah nyah nyah..."

The burly man, panting heavily, stopped and braced himself against his knees to catch his breath.

Xiao Jin ran back and gave him a light kick in the backside:

"Uncle, your shoelaces are untied."

The big man looked down and saw that the cat hadn't loosened its grip; when he looked up, Little Jin had already run far away.

Qiqi was the slowest runner and someone grabbed her arm.

Just as the person was about to pull her towards him, Qiqi suddenly squatted down:

"Uncle, there are ants on your feet."

The man glanced down instinctively, but saw nothing.

While he was looking down, Qiqi slipped under his arm and hid behind Qianqian.

Qianqian stood in front of him, glanced at the person, who was stunned for a moment, blinked and shook his head, as if he had been blinded by the sun.

The leader, watching from the side, grew increasingly grim.

He had previously thought that they were just a few kids and he could subdue them in no time.

After chasing them for almost the time it takes to brew a cup of tea, they hadn't caught a single one, and their own men were left breathless from being outmaneuvered.

The one who was chasing Xiao Jin was already leaning against the wall, panting, while the one who was chasing Qi Qi was squatting on the ground, looking at something.

There was another person who had been stared at by Luo Nannan for a long time and stood there in a daze, completely bewildered.

"Get serious, all of you!" the leader roared. "You can't even catch a few kids? Aren't you ashamed?!"

He rushed towards Niannian, opening his arms to try and scoop her up.

Niannian didn't run away. When he got close, she suddenly squatted down, squeezed through the gap between him and another burly man, and gently pushed his knee from behind.

The leader's legs buckled, and he almost knelt down, only managing to steady himself by bracing himself against the ground.

"Uncle, your legs aren't very good."

Niannian stood behind him, smiling innocently, and said:

"You need to train more."

When the leader turned around, his face was already flushed. He stood up, twisted his knees, and said, "Again!"

They chased each other for a while longer, with Xiaoxiao weaving between the two like a slippery fish.

Xiao Jin shouted from another direction:

"Over here, over here!"

After the two strong men ran past, he disappeared to the other side.

Luo Nannan neither ran nor hid. She would shun anyone who came near her and squat in the corner, panting.

Qianqian walked over and blocked the person chasing her. The person stood in front of Qianqian, not knowing what was wrong, unable to take a step, as if he had forgotten where to go.

The leader chased Niannian for most of the alley, sweating profusely, his short-sleeved shirt soaked through the back.

As he leaned on his knees, catching his breath, Niannian walked back and stood in front of him: "Uncle, shall we continue?"

The leader looked up at her, breathless, and said, "...I..."

"How about we call it a day? We're all starving," Niannian said, pointing to the sweat on his forehead.

"You're sweating, go back and take a shower and rest."

That iron rod incident wasn't our fault at all; he fell on his own. There's moss on the ground; you can go check it out later.

The leader didn't speak, he was breathing heavily.

The men he brought with him were also exhausted; some were leaning against the wall, while others simply sat on the stone steps by the roadside.

The one chasing Xiao Jin was still panting, while the one chasing Qi Qi was squatting on the ground, seemingly genuinely looking for ants.

Luo Nannan walked over to the leader and pointed to the cigarette tucked behind his ear:

"You haven't lit this cigarette, is it because you don't have a lighter?"

The leader remained silent for a while, took the cigarette off his ear, looked at it, and then decided not to go back.

He opened his mouth and said, "You guys..."

"Um?"

"...Let's go."

Niannian smiled and said, "Then we're leaving. Bad Uncle, you should go home early too."

She turned around and led a group of people out of the alley.

Xiao Xiao walked beside her, while Xiao Jin walked at the very back, glancing back as they walked.

The leader was still standing there, his head covered in sweat, and his short-sleeved shirt was soaked.

Watching them walk away, I looked down at my hands.

I tried to catch him several times, but I failed once.

After Luo Nannan walked out of the alley, she said, "He's actually a decent person; he didn't really hit me hard."

"Mmm," Niannian said with a smile.

"I just can't run very fast, hehe..."

The Venerable Kumu stood up from under the shade of a tree across the street, holding a cup of soy milk that he had bought at some unknown time.

He just sat there watching, doing nothing, not even moving from his spot.

Seeing them come out, he walked over, followed the group, and took a sip of soy milk.

"Finished?"

"It's over."

He told us to leave.

"Hmm." Venerable Kumu offered no comment, continuing to walk behind with his soy milk.

The sun had fully risen, and the road was brightly lit.

Niannian glanced at the street ahead; that direction led to the Martial Arts Academy. She quickened her pace.
