Joe was pulled out of the wooden tub in a daze and laid out on the car, looking no different from a newborn lamb.

Both were soaking wet, both were unsteady on their feet, and both had difficulty breathing.

Of course, wizards don't laugh at wizards; severed limbs can regenerate if you pay, so a broken leg isn't a big deal.

Ignoring Qiao Xiaoquan's rock-like physique, Lynn thought he was truly brave. He dared to rush down the river in a wooden bucket, even while surrounded by flying sticks. It was simply unheard of.

This person is either a warrior or a gambler.

Lynn glanced at Ruby, who seemed rather pleased, and recalled that night when she had been just as greedy when she tried to seize the flying rod for greater profit.

For a fleeting moment, Lynn wondered if the true defining characteristic of the wizarding world was gamblers and speculators.

From Joe's perspective, Lynn is practically a monster.

The two flying rods faithfully hovered around Lynn, attacking at the slightest movement, a stark contrast to their unbridled behavior when they attacked them.

Although Joe had completely disregarded the flying stick a few days ago, reality will teach all the arrogant a lesson.

Oh, including him.

These flying sticks, in groups of three to five, can take down two prepared level two wizard apprentices.

Jeremy and Stone should both have died from the mouthparts of the flying rod.

He could no longer afford to be disrespectful.

The man in front of them had tamed the flying staff, and by the standards of a second-level apprentice, he was quite strong.

Moreover, judging from the craftsmanship of the worm-drawn cart and the stone cart, this person was quite intelligent.

He's practically a wizard.

..

The rain kept falling outside. Qiao lay on the stone slab, spat out some river water, and wiped his mouth with his sleeve.

After deciding to give Lynn enough respect, he smacked his lips and found that the water was actually quite sweet.

"Thank you for your rescue."

After saying that, he forced out a smile that could only be described as obsequious.

Ruby pulled out a few packets of worm powder and tossed them over.

Without saying a word, Qiao grabbed the paper packet and started shoveling it into his mouth.

He swallowed hard. After catching his breath and exchanging a few pleasantries, he began by recounting his ordeal and the falling out between his two wizard apprentices.

Then they discovered some kind of red creature attacking.

Ruby crossed her arms thoughtfully.

She remembered a similar incident before her plane crashed. She had noticed that the engine core Lynn brought back had red scratches on it.

However, Joe was not in good condition at the time and did not see clearly. After asking for detailed information, Ruby confirmed that the thing's mobility was probably that of a bilaterally symmetrical worm.

After Ruby finished asking her question, Lynn didn't give Joe a chance to catch his breath and continued with her own question.

"What method are you talking about? Didn't you say there was a way to contact our home planet?"

Joe watched as Lynn expressionlessly lifted his broken leg up, his face twitching uncontrollably.

His leg is very valuable, and the contents of that bucket are also very valuable; the damaged spaceship engine and other things are inside.

Fortunately, Lynn knew his stuff; he used vines to wrap around the bucket and lift it up.

Seeing this, Qiao felt relieved and said

"I can repair the communication equipment; yours is damaged. Once it's fixed, we'll call the professors at the college directly. That's my solution."

Lynn and Ruby looked at each other, shook their heads helplessly, and asked in return...

"The communication equipment was indeed intermittent, but we had actually contacted the college a long time ago."

Joe thought about it and agreed.

He only came here as a hired hand because the academy was too slow. Now it seems the 225 magic stones he paid for the job are definitely gone.

However, the academy was just a general explanation; he had a more perfect and accurate answer in his mind.

This will inevitably bring them endless benefits.

"We can call the pioneering hotline!"

Lynn pulled the car back and turned around to ask

"Pioneering?"

Before setting off, Lynn was just a novice level 1 wizard apprentice.

Pioneering was one of the academy's greatest achievements, a concept he considered almost mythical. He was completely unfamiliar with it.

But Ruby's is different; a level two wizard apprentice is already enough to meet the minimum requirements for pioneering.

For her, pioneering was not so close as to be within reach, but it was still within the realm of "longing" and "hope".

To put it bluntly, no wizard would be uninterested in pioneering.

But Ruby was truly taken aback by Joe's wild idea.

Because pioneering is a term with a strict definition in the wizarding world.

It must meet at least the following conditions.

First, a stable food source is sufficient to support the basic needs of a settlement (based on a standard 24-person scientific research team covering multiple fields).

Second, energy production—sustainable energy—can demonstrate to the Frontier Hotline that this planet has long-term development value. (Same scale as above)

Third, shelters and defensive facilities capable of withstanding local extreme weather conditions. (Same size as above)

Fourth, one has a stable means of transportation, at least by land, water, or air.

First, geological exploration. A complete mapping of the mineral distribution, hazardous species activity range, and atmospheric composition cycles in the surrounding area must be completed.

Their goals regarding exploration, biology, and the atmosphere... are far from being achieved.

"Are you kidding me?"

"You're talking complete nonsense."

Qiao, feigning profundity, propped himself up, trying to find a railing to lean against, and then struck a pose like a master resting his hands on the railing.

Unfortunately, his frail health betrayed him; he was now a lumpy wizard, unable to even stand up, and the more he tried to appear profound, the more laughable he became.

After his attempts failed, Joe gave up resisting, turned his face to the ground, raised his head, and added;

"Don't be so rigid, Ruby. Look at Lynn's reaction, it's much milder."

Lynn's composure improved Joe's impression of him.

"Reality is flexible, Ruby. All sorts of unexpected things happen around us. Like our plane crash."

"Strict pioneering is indeed quite difficult."

"But our goal is to get the wizarding world to notice us. So, all we need is a gimmick."

Lynn listened quietly; attention is a good thing.

If the officials in charge at the academy really cared about those two little Karamis, they would have sent someone over long ago.

"Joe, you speak."

Joe stepped into the barrel, shook it, and straightened himself up.

"The last time we successfully pioneered a new world, it was led entirely by wizard apprentices. There were twenty-eight of us, and it became a bountiful world of vines. Now, including me, there are only three of us."

Do you know what three people means?

"That was unprecedented—three people pioneering a world."

"Such a great achievement, such a milestone report, the Frontier Hotline couldn't possibly refuse our request."

At this, Qiao couldn't help but curl the corners of his mouth.

Even though it's just wishful thinking, getting credit for nothing is still a wonderful thing.

He doesn't ask for much; as long as he has a reputation, he can attract a steady stream of funds.

Lynn and Ruby exchanged a glance.

That's far off; Joe's fantasy likely stems from his phantom limb and doesn't seem very reliable.

But they didn't have any other options.

The two drove back to La as usual.

Joe jolted, and a bottle of medicine fell out.

"Could you please get my muscle replenishment solution, please? I'll start fixing the communication equipment now."

Lynn bent down to pick it up.

A prompt appeared before him.
