Sherlock Holmes is not a warp god.

Chapter 30 The Lights in the Second Half of the Night

Furen felt it wasn't his imagination; Professor Olsen had warmed up and felt better after using his elemental abilities, and his steps weren't as heavy anymore.

But what remains unchanged is the deep-seated sense of exhaustion.

The old man stood there quietly, watching all the written records being destroyed. All he could do now was erase all the records about these children.

Their abilities are their greatest value, and the fewer people who know about them, the better.

Only by doing this can we prevent others from coveting the child to the greatest extent possible.

The lab headquarters is just one part that needs to be cleaned up.

Charlotte and Watson were in the dormitory area, providing psychological counseling to the children. Fren, sitting next to Professor Olsen, glanced at the time and realized it was unlikely he'd get a good night's sleep.

"I'm sorry to have made you, a useless piece of trash, waste so much time here with me." The old man quietly watched the soldiers carrying paper figures and said to Fren with a hint of apology, "This is my third time here. This time, I stayed overnight because the test ended too late, to experience the nighttime environment. The children here probably don't remember me much, but they are all good children."

"I hope the rest of the children can embrace the right way of life." The old man thought for a moment. "I will prepare a thank-you gift for you, Charlotte, Dr. Watson, and Major Watkins."

"I don't need mine," Fren declined. "I just stayed up all night; Charlotte and the others really put in the effort. They've settled several children and will probably head to other, more remote areas to finish up the rest of the lab work."

Professor Olsen remained silent, only nodding.

At that moment, Major Watkins also walked over, his shoes splattered with a few drops of blood.

Professor Orson was in charge of keeping an eye on the documents on paper and in the machines, while Major Watkins was responsible for ensuring that the intelligence stored in other people's memories did not leak out.

It's still a physical formatting process, except this time it's formatting the brain.

"Professor, let's forget about it," Major Watkins said with a smile. "We'll receive corresponding military merits from the government."

"Besides, this is the responsibility of the military and the security bureau." Major Watkins' eyes narrowed slightly as he said this. "After Mr. Holmes goes to other cities, I will report to Major General Richard and have the nearby local garrison bases provide assistance."

"We never expected that the detective would be the one to take the lead in this matter; this is a serious dereliction of duty on our part."

Major Watkins felt somewhat ashamed.

"Major Watkins, this is not your responsibility. Some people from the church and the scientific community... were also involved. It was because of their cover-up and endorsement that it was hidden so well."

"It's called the headquarters, but it's really just the headquarters of Ostonia. This laboratory, which has been around for less than ten years, has a presence in Vistalis, the New World, and some third-world countries." Professor Olsen lowered his eyes. "Speaking of which... we old guys are the accomplices of the real culprits."

Before leaving, Professor Olsen hesitated for a moment but still did not go to the dormitory area to see the children.

I took a deep look at this copper mine that was on which high hopes were placed. In the external plan, after this laboratory was hollowed out, it would be built into a larger and more fully equipped welfare laboratory.

Perhaps after removing this cancer, we can take over these mines with some old friends.

"Mr. Holmes, please take me back to Berlin University." Professor Olsen looked out the window, still feeling very uncomfortable.

He can't control church affairs, and he can't control things abroad.

However, his limited influence and methods can still be used in the scientific community.

This matter has left a thorn in his heart, and he must remove it before he can feel at ease.

Sigmund Olsen's face was his pass, and despite it being late at night, he was allowed to pass directly.

"Go to the medical school," Professor Olsen said.

Fren had never been here before, but with Professor Olsen's directions, he was able to find a building that read "Department of Medicine, Neurology".

The University of Berlin covers a vast area; the medical school buildings alone almost form a residential complex. Even late at night, some rooms still had lights on.

"Professor, take care of yourself." Fren got out of the car and watched Professor Olsen go upstairs. He breathed a sigh of relief after getting back into the car.

This day was quite tedious.

Professor Olsen has a dormitory and several offices at the University of Berlin, with the neurology office being the most frequently used.

I sat quietly in the office without turning on the lights.

In a little over an hour, the spring sun would rise in Berlin, and he was waiting for some old friends to go to work.

-

After leaving Berlin University, Fren checked the time and realized that once he returned to Holmes Manor, he wouldn't be able to stay long before going to work, let alone sleep.

After hesitating for a few seconds, Fren drove towards his parents' house.

Compared to the suburban estate, this house is very close to the city center, less than half an hour's drive away.

To Fren's surprise, the lights were still on in his parents' bedroom on the second floor and in the living room on the first floor at 4 a.m.

As if hearing the sound of a car engine, Fren parked the car and entered the yard, only to see his mother smiling at him from the open gate.

"Mother, aren't you resting so late?"

"I'm used to it." Mrs. Holmes stepped aside to let Fren in, and only after not seeing Sherlock did she close the door.

As soon as Floren took off his coat and hung it up, and sat down on the sofa, his mother brought him a pot of hot drink.

"As you know, Wanda and I don't need much sleep." Timothy looked at his youngest son's face, unable to hide his smile. "This is your favorite green tea."

"Thank you, Mother." Floren poured himself a glass, savored it, and found it to be a flavor he liked.

Even when she was still in the womb, she liked tea, a relatively uncommon beverage in this world, which suggests it was indeed a trait she inherited from her past life.

At this moment, Wanda Holmes also came down from the second-floor bedroom, sat down next to Fren, and patted Fren on the shoulder.

Timothy and Wanda, standing on either side like two gatekeepers, quietly watched Floren drink tea.

It might seem a bit horrifying at first glance, but it was actually Fren's usual behavior. Fren used to dislike socializing and was quite insensitive to situations that most people would find awkward.

"Father, Mother, after Sherlock and I went out today..."

After finishing a cup of tea, Floren didn't hide anything and told his parents about what had happened that night, focusing on the important points.

These parents are not ordinary people, and Fren felt there was nothing he couldn't let them know.

To be honest, it's quite comforting to come home late at night and find the lights on and someone waiting for you.

At least in his previous life, Fren did not have such an experience.
