Sherlock Holmes is not a warp god.
Chapter 9 Yuri Blair
Fren felt he saw a smile in Mycroft's eyes, an expression his brother rarely showed.
"How did you do it?" Mycroft asked casually, leading Fren and Chief Wilke out of the air-raid shelter.
Only then did the six or seven "sacrifices" inside the air-raid shelter dare to move, staring in horror at the five cultists lying dead on the ground in various ways.
Several people were so scared they broke out in a sweat.
However, this didn't include the young girl; she kept her eyes glued to the figures of Furen and the other two as they disappeared into the bunker's passage. A divine light flashed, firmly memorizing those figures.
Fren, dressed in rags, followed Mycroft, unconcerned about the hostages' situation. Mycroft always handled everything perfectly. "It's simple," he said, "write down the structural composition and tissue strength, then try to make my body tissue grow in the same way."
"Hmm." Mycroft nodded, looking as if it really was a simple matter.
Chief Welman Wilke: "..."
Although he wasn't a flesh-and-blood type ability user, he still knew common sense. For this young person who hadn't even reached a certain level, could such a thing be considered simple?
If I give you a piece of paper with words like "eye," "ear," and "nerve" printed on it, memorizing these words is indeed easy.
But the difficulty of memorizing vocabulary is only equivalent to knowing that a person has a few organs on their head.
What Fren did was memorize every pixel of the text printed on the paper, as well as every fiber of the paper itself. He even went so far as to boast that he would replicate an exact copy of the paper.
Is this what you call simple?
Seeing the brothers' nonchalant expressions, Chief Wilke, a trendy old man, was momentarily speechless.
As the head of the National Security Service, there are very few things he personally oversees. However, given Mycroft's unique circumstances, it was still worthwhile for Director Wilke to personally investigate the young man upon his joining the company.
During the home visit, Chief Wilke and the Holmes talked about many things, including why they chose to adopt the young child.
"Raising a genius is not very fulfilling. We hope to raise an ordinary or even a little slow child to satisfy our sense of accomplishment as parents."
These are Mrs. Holmes's original words.
His years of experience as a secret police officer kept Director Wilke calm, though he was utterly speechless inside.
The boy in front of them was clearly no different from an ordinary person.
Flesh-based abilities can at most improve physical constitution. Intelligence is neither a flesh-based ability nor the domain of a benevolent father.
Thinking ability can be said to be cultivated, but memory is something that can only be innate.
Being able to easily memorize such a massive amount of data...
Chief of Staff Wilke remarked that the Holmes family certainly had something special about them.
The Holmes couple had three children and adopted one, and all of them turned out to be SSR cards.
After climbing about three flights of stairs, Furen finally saw the long-awaited sunshine.
Outside the abandoned air-raid shelter, there were two lines of police officers, a total of sixteen people, who were secret police officers under the National Security Bureau.
Upon seeing the bureau chief emerge, they saluted in unison.
At first glance, Jin Jue was struck by the sharp, ruthless aura emanating from the young man leading the group, who appeared to be the same age as him. This gave Furen a strong sense of crisis.
Like a sharp sword.
If this young man were to face Stanislavsky, even if he didn't win as easily as Chief Wilke, he wouldn't have too much trouble winning.
"Yuri, I'm counting on you." Director Wilke was very approachable when dealing with his subordinates. His authority over his employees never came from words or threats, but from genuine ability.
As long as one has the ability, no matter how down-to-earth one is, in the National Security Bureau where only the strong prevail, Director Wilke will always be the absolute authority, and his orders will always be carried out without fail.
"Yes, Chief!" The young man acted swiftly and decisively, leading two teams of police officers into the air-raid shelter with a wave of his hand.
The bureau chief went down once, so there can't be any more threats inside. All that's left is to handle the aftermath.
This young man is extremely devoted to his sister; his sole belief is to protect her and everything related to her. His poison resistance and regenerative abilities have been greatly honed through past experiences, making him a rising star in the Security Bureau.
Looking at the entries above Yuri's head, Furen felt that Yuri's appraisal seemed to have a lot of words.
"Yuri Blair, 18 years old, is currently a junior in college. He has excellent grades and has been admitted to the Security Bureau for an early internship. He will officially join the company next year."
Director Wilke's introduction surprised Fren. Yuri, like himself, was 18 years old and almost ready to graduate from college.
The old man snorted inwardly; he also had geniuses under his command.
Seeing that Mycroft showed no sign of leaving, Furren could only wander around. Placing his hand on the car's hood, feeling its cool texture, Furren narrowed his eyes. "Chief Wilke, I'd like to ask you, when did my brother ask you for help?"
"Last night," Director Wilke said without hesitation, directly betraying Mycroft. "It wasn't me they asked, but Lieutenant Curtis and Yuri were supposed to help. However, Curtis had something come up, so this old man had to take his place."
While they were setting up the ceremony for that shipment, Mycroft and I were already inside the air-raid shelter.
In his words, Chief Wilke portrayed himself as a helpful leader who personally covered for his subordinates. As for whether he was just bored and had simply taken the job from his subordinate... the truth was completely irrelevant.
Perhaps feeling a bit embarrassed after selling Mycroft, Chief Wilke took the opportunity to make amends for Mycroft at the end.
They were indicating that they had arrived long ago and that there was no way something could have happened to you.
Of course, being shot in the head was purely accidental.
"Should I bait the hole...?"
Fren let out a deep breath. He already knew the truth, and he phrased it as a question using the tone of a declarative sentence. He strongly suspected that Mycroft was responsible for the leak of information about his Level 4 self-healing ability.
Mycroft froze; he could feel his brother's sinister gaze without even turning around.
Director Wilke, a veteran agent whose abilities are so profound that their depths are unfathomable, pulled a pizza from an open car window and ate it while watching intently.
The most interesting thing is when brothers fight amongst themselves.
Mycroft, with his exceptionally high IQ and profound understanding of human nature, devised a solution in a flash: "My credit card disappeared at the family party celebrating your early graduation two weeks ago."
Sherlock stole my ID, and you stole my credit card. You two worked together pretty well.
His choice was to turn the tables, which can be described using the military strategy of a country that has been buried in history for countless years: "besieging Wei to rescue Zhao".
Since I made a mistake and you made a mistake, roughly speaking, neither of us made a mistake.
