When I first saw Brother Nan, I was stunned. My mind went blank, and it took me a long time to recover.

The group of thugs behind him all glared at me coldly before quickly following. They walked to the car, jumped on their motorcycles, and with a roar of screeching engines, the group sped off and disappeared from sight.

I stared intently at their retreating figures, my mind a jumble of questions, unable to make sense of it all.

The more I thought about it, the more uneasy I felt. Only Lin Tao could know the truth about this. I immediately took out my phone and dialed her number. The phone rang twice before being answered, and Lin Tao's clear voice came through the receiver: "Feed?"

I quickly pressed on, "Lin Tao, I just ran into Brother Nan from the Hunan gang! He was arrested before, how come he's out so quickly?"

Lin Tao on the other end of the phone was visibly stunned for a moment, then asked me with a hint of disbelief, "You just saw him with your own eyes?"

"Hmm," I replied in a low voice.

After a brief silence, Lin Tao's tone was serious: "I'll check the situation first and get back to you later."

After saying that, the phone call ended. I sat there, my mind racing, pondering the strangeness of the whole thing.

Just as I was lost in thought, I suddenly heard Chen Siqi's timid voice, which pulled me back to my senses.

Her face was filled with apprehension, and her eyes still held lingering fear. She asked in a low voice, "Dazhuang, who was that person just now? He looked so fierce."

Chen Siyao, standing beside me, looked at me with a worried expression, her brows furrowed slightly. "Yeah, Dazhuang, have we gotten ourselves into trouble? Will things get complicated?"

I turned to look at the two girls. Seeing their flustered and uneasy appearance, my heart softened a little. I gently shook my head, suppressed the heaviness in my heart, and reassured them, "Don't worry, it's alright. Let's go."

I didn't want the two girls to overthink things and add to their psychological burden, so I simply said it was nothing.

I quickly walked to the bike shed, pulled out my motorcycle, rode it to the two sisters, stopped it, and waved to them: "Get on."

Chen Siyao glanced at the back seat and instantly recalled how intimately she had been pressed against me yesterday. A faint blush rose to her cheeks, and she hesitated slightly, feeling a little embarrassed.

I was distracted by the two people behind me joking and laughing, and by the time I realized it, the light was already red. I quickly slammed on the brakes.
