Are there labels here that can be copied?

Li En was somewhat surprised, not expecting to find a tag with special effects while walking on the street.

However, he was in a hurry to go to school for worship and didn't have time to linger on the streets.

"Jeremy."

"Yes, sir," Jeremy said, somewhat confused. "Sir, have I mentioned my name to you?"

Lee En shook his head. "That's not important. Besides this one shilling, do you want more?"

Upon hearing this, Jeremy immediately perked up.

For these homeless children, besides working as child laborers, another source of income is doing shameful or unacceptable things for the seemingly glamorous people of London.

For example, stealing things or searching for lost items in the sewers—in short, the pay was usually much higher than that of child labor.

"Sir, is there anything you need?"

Li En pointed in the direction of Big Ben. "Wait for me at the entrance of the London Library at 2 PM. I'll come find you then, okay?"

Jeremy nodded solemnly. "Understood, sir. Approximately how long will it take?"

Li En estimated the time, "If I don't show up within half an hour, then wait until four o'clock and come again. I'll choose a time to come."

"Yes, sir."

After agreeing on a time with Jeremy to meet and copy the labels, Lee got up and left, continuing his journey towards the University of Michigan.

With the wanted criminal label, Li En spent significantly less time traveling, even faster than by horse-drawn carriage in crowded city areas.

Running quickly causes rapid breathing, resulting in inhaling more smog pollution, which is even more uncomfortable than inhaling secondhand smoke.

After arriving at the University of Michigan campus and attending a service in the chapel, Lee stood outside the chapel, searching for a familiar figure.

Before long, Li En saw Ruby coming out of the chapel, chatting and laughing with her classmates.

"Miss Ruby... Miss Linda," Li En only managed to utter the "L" sound before realizing she had almost mispronounced the name, quickly correcting herself to Ruby's pseudonym, "Can we talk?"

Ruby was surrounded by several daughters of noble birth, who looked at Li En with curious eyes.

"Linda, who is he? Is he your boyfriend?"

"Hey, I know you! You're Lee En Wales, a favorite of Professor Thorne and Professor Osborne!" A girl approached Lee En, the scent of roses wafting over her, probably from applying some perfume.

Although it was a bit pungent, it was still much, much better than the lung-burning smog of London.

Upon hearing Li En's name, the girls around her immediately became quite interested in him.

"I heard Professor Thorne recommended you to participate in the Golden Dawn Open, is that true?"

"How are your grades in occult studies? If you have time, could you tutor me?"

"Hey, we're going to the Royal Opera House on Trulli Street to see Shakespeare's *The Merry Wives of Windsor*. Do you want to come along?"

What an outrageous name...

Li En gave a wry smile. Before she could refuse, Ruby spoke up, "Ladies, have some self-respect. You are noble ladies. How are you any different from those women in the marketplace who make money by flaunting their charms?"

Upon hearing Ruby's words, the noblewomen could only restrain themselves.

"You guys go ahead, I'll chat with Li En for a bit, I'll catch up soon."

After calling the other students away, Ruby turned to Li En and said, "You're quite popular with the opposite sex, Mr. Li En. There must be quite a few women around you who like you."

"Really?" Li En's face was full of question marks. "I don't think so."

Ruby's smile froze slightly, but she quickly steered the conversation back on track, "What did you want to see me about?"

"You said it before," Li En leaned closer to Ruby and whispered, "If I want to find you, I should just go to Money Cat."

As they drew closer, a faint scent of musk, mixed with a subtle hint of orris root, lingered around Lee En's nose.

Compared to the rose-scented balm from the previous girl, Li En preferred this fragrance.

Ruby, unaware that Lee En had a strong impression of her scent, nodded slightly. "I remember."

"I looked into it yesterday; Money Cat is an invitation-only high society salon," Li En continued in a low voice. "It's basically impossible for me to get in. How could you say that?"

Upon hearing Li En's words, Ruby immediately guessed what Li En was thinking.

"You want to go inside the money cat, right?"

Li En thought she had asked very tactfully, but she didn't expect Ruby to see through her so quickly.

As expected of a woman labeled a con artist, she's skilled at deceiving others and has considerable ability to see through their rhetoric.

"Yes," since he'd been exposed, Li En decided to stop pretending. "Do you have connections?"

Ruby touched her lips with her slender fingers, thought for a moment, and then said, "Okay."

real or fake?

Lee En is now even more curious about Ruby's true identity.

Although his father was only a baron, he had made a lot of connections and relationships by selling voting rights in the House of Lords.

Even so, the father still couldn't get an invitation from Money Cat.

Ruby could conjure up an invitation to a high-society social salon with a single utterance.

"Go home early tonight, don't stay out too long."

Ruby smiled gently, her long reddish-brown hair half-down and half-up, making her look even more refined and gentle.

After leaving those words, she left directly, not giving Li En much of a chance to ask questions.

What does "go home early tonight" mean?

Li En felt that this sentence sounded strange, more like something a newlywed wife would say to her husband.

Could it be that an invitation will be delivered to my door tonight?

Somewhat confused, Lee decided to do as Ruby said for now.

After copying Jeremy's label today, I'll go straight home.

Li En glanced at the time and, finding it was still early, went to Professor Osborne's laboratory.

As soon as Li En passed through the shady corridor covered with ivy, he saw Estelle sitting on a stone bench in the corridor, kicking her legs.

Sunlight filtered through the dense ivy and thick gray fog, casting faint beams of light onto her slightly pale face. Estelle kicked at her ill-fitting boots, which seemed about to be kicked off.

"Aishie," Li En called out.

Hearing the familiar voice, Estelle immediately perked up, jumped off the stone bench, and hopped over to Li En's side like a dirty rabbit.

"Li En! You're here!"

Just as Li En was about to ask her why she wasn't in the lab, he heard the sound of a wooden door being pushed open coming from the direction of the lab.

A tall figure walked out of the laboratory, with Professor Osborne following closely behind, though he seemed to be half a head shorter than him.

This person's appearance is nothing special, but his eyes are quite aggressive, like a venomous snake ready to bite its opponent's neck at any moment.

He was wearing a dark, thick, double-breasted wool coat, which from a distance looked like a cape. There were only three brass buttons on the front, and one of them seemed to be missing.

More importantly, the man was wearing a top hat made of soft felt with a metal police badge embedded on it.

He's from Scotland Yard!

Li En raised her gaze slightly.
