Magical Cat

Weber looked speechless and sighed as he gazed at the scenery outside the carriage.

Barbara sat down next to Elaine, still fuming.

Sojourn smiled broadly, seemingly enjoying the atmosphere inside the carriage.

In the end, the three girls sat on one side, with Elaine in the middle.

There were only two boys opposite, so the space was much more spacious.

Li En stood on Elaine's shoulder, observing Barbara with great curiosity.

Such an eccentric girl was rare even in his era of brilliant stars.

The atmosphere in the carriage was very tense because of Webber and Barbara.

Elaine felt a little uncomfortable, while Safina and Sojean didn't seem to care at all.

Sojourn took the initiative to break the ice and ease the tension.

"Eleanor, I heard you performed exceptionally well in the two practical classes. It seems you're a real practitioner," Sojeen said.

This guy is very outgoing and has an innate sense of friendliness. Plus, he's good-looking, so it's easy for him to win people's favor.

"It was just good luck," Elaine said modestly, as was her habit.

Sojern chuckled, glancing at Elaine and Safina's shoulders with a puzzled look: "You two both brought magical beasts with you, don't you find that troublesome?"

"Li En is very well-behaved, she won't," Elaine answered first.

Safina nodded in agreement: "My little lark is very well-behaved too."

Safina's magical beast is a small blue bird belonging to Little Joe. Its feathers are beautiful, and it is round and cute, hidden in the middle of her collar.

The little lark seemed very curious about the outside world, but because it was timid, it only dared to hide in Safina's collar and observe secretly.

Especially when she sees Li En, she always hides even deeper into her collar, as if afraid that this wooden cat might do her a harm.

Sojeen's confusion did not completely disappear after hearing their answers.

Seeing that they were chatting amongst themselves and no one was paying attention to her, Barbara muttered smugly, "Tch, show-offs."

Barbara, not wanting to be left out but also unwilling to stoop to participate, awkwardly sulked on the sidelines.

As the carriage moved along, Li En listened to their conversation while gazing at the scenery outside the window.

The city they were in was Falling Star City, the capital of the Kingdom of Marches.

The city of Falling Star was bustling with activity, its streets were vibrant, lined with shops, and the pedestrians were dressed in all sorts of different styles.

But all they saw were humans; no other races were found.

When Li En and Elaine were reading in the library, they learned that there were many other intelligent races in this world.

The existence of elves and various animal-eared girls really bothered him.

I thought I'd see something on the street this time, but all I saw were humans.

Li En felt she couldn't see clearly from Elaine's shoulder, so she climbed down and peered out the car window.

Seeing Elaine's intense curiosity about her magical beast, Sojaen and Waver also became interested.

"This cat seems a bit special."

Sojeen could tell that Lee En wasn't as dull as he looked.

Weber simply watched without saying a word.

After all, it was he who abandoned Li En before, and every time Weber saw Li En, he would always think of this and feel a little uncomfortable.

Safina saw that Li En was very close and reached out to try to grab Li En's tail.

But it was as if Li En had eyes on the back of his head; his tail seemed to move unintentionally, but he always managed to avoid Safina's little hands.

Safina became increasingly defiant the more she tried to catch him, but she just couldn't succeed.

Seeing this, Elaine and the others laughed.

Yet, even in this harmonious atmosphere, there are always some people who don't fit in.

"Hmph, country cat, just as ignorant as its owner!"

Barbara seems to have a special talent; her words and actions are so infuriating.

Safina and Webber both frowned, already finding Barbara increasingly unbearable.

Seeing the atmosphere suddenly turn cold, Sojeen looked outside and said, "It seems we're almost there."

As soon as Sojeen spoke, the carriage slowed down and soon came to a steady stop.

Outside, Melina's voice came: "Everyone get out of the car, we've arrived at our destination."

The car door opened, and several people filed out.

Li En jumped onto Elaine's shoulders.

After getting off the carriage, they came to a clean street.

They were at the end of the street, where a modestly decorated but sizable pub stood.

One tavern occupied three storefronts in the entire area.

Since it was morning, the tavern was open, but there were only waiters cleaning inside; there were no customers.

Seeing the sign that read "Blue Jazz Bar," they knew this was the place for the special lessons.

Melina alighted from the carriage, instructed the driver to wait there, and then led Elaine and the others into the Blue Jazz Bar.

Seeing a group of people arrive, the waiter quickly came over to greet them: "Excuse me, gentlemen, it's not business hours yet."

Melina waved her hand and said, "Find your boss and tell him we're from the Royal Magic Academy."

Upon hearing this, the waiter became even more respectful, despite his already polite demeanor.

"So it's you magicians. The boss instructed me to ask you to sit down and wait a moment while I go and fetch him."

The waiter set up a table for them to sit down, and then served each of them a cup of iced tea.

The herbal tea smelled somewhat bitter, causing Li En to frown.

"They serve tea here too, but the taste is really not good."

Li Enzheng was muttering to himself, but Melina was already enjoying her tea: "This is bitter ginseng herbal tea, it has a refreshing effect, you can try it too."

Elaine and the others then tried taking a sip.

As soon as they took a sip, they all frowned, clearly because the taste was almost the same as the smell.

But soon they all felt a glimmer of hope, their minds clearing and their mental strength slightly enhanced.

When Elaine saw that Lee En, who hadn't shown much interest before, was suddenly staring at her expectantly, she had no choice but to pour some cold tea into her hand and let Lee En lick her palm.

Li En wasn't greedy; he just wanted to try it out.

A bitter taste spread through his mouth upon entry, but then the bitterness rushed into his brain, making even his breath feel cool.

The magic power that was originally absorbed automatically due to magic perception suddenly became more active, and the absorption speed quietly increased.
