Some of them had their limbs bent backwards, some had their heads turned upside down, and some had a large hole torn in their bellies. One by one, they twisted and crawled out from the shelves, from the ground, and from the ceiling.

Yun Ziang's smile froze on his face.

He looked down at the wooden stick in his hand, then looked up at the ghostly figures that were closing in on them from all directions. He silently took a step back, then another, until his back hit the wall, leaving him nowhere to retreat.

He swallowed hard, his voice trembling, "Little...little auntie, we won't be attacked by them, will we?"

Li Yifa got up from the ground, his neck covered in blood, his face smeared with dust, and a ferocious smile on his lips.

He picked up a rusty brass bell from somewhere, held it in his hand, and shook it gently. The sound of the bell echoed in the narrow basement.

Upon hearing the bell, the ghostly figures simultaneously stopped crawling and then slowly turned towards Xiao Jin and Yun Ziang.

He said bitterly, "These are all the ghosts I've collected over the years. Some I dug up from graves, some I stole from hospitals, and some stillborn babies I picked up from crematoriums."

"These are my wife's food supplies. Now that you've ruined my wife, I'll use her food to take your lives!"

Xiao Jin looked at the densely packed ghostly figures, then at the bell in Li Yifa's hand, snorted, and slightly spread her short legs, assuming a steady horse stance.

She clenched her fists, closed her eyes, opened her mouth, and took a deep breath.

All that could be seen in the basement was a thick, black mist.

Everything on the offering table, on the ritual implements, and on the vengeful ghosts that crawled out of the jars was seized by an invisible force, turning into several streams of black energy that swirled and surged toward Xiao Jin's open mouth.

The vengeful ghosts let out terrified howls, desperately trying to escape, but their bodies were being pulled away one by one, as if being swept into a vortex, turning into black smoke, and entering Xiao Jin's mouth.

Even the black aura swirling around the copper bell in Li Yifa's hand was sucked away. The copper bell fell to the ground with a clatter, rolled twice, and then stopped moving.

The black aura in the entire basement was swept away.

The vengeful ghosts had vanished, leaving only a few blurry, transparent shadows huddled in a corner, trembling.

Those were souls that Li Yifa had imprisoned in the jar and had not yet been fully refined. After the black energy was absorbed by Xiao Jin, they returned to their original form.

Xiao Jin closed her mouth, patted her round belly, and let out a small burp.

A wisp of black smoke rose from the burp, and she quickly covered her mouth, smiling sheepishly.

Li Yifa knelt on the ground in despair, as if his bones had been removed, staring blankly at the empty basement.

The altar he had painstakingly built up over a decade, the ghosts he had kept, and his wife—all were gone.

His face is aging at a visible rate.

His hair turned white strand by strand, his eye sockets became deeper and deeper, and the skin on the back of his hands began to wrinkle, like a withered tree that had lost all its nutrients.

"Impossible...impossible...impossible!"

He abruptly raised his head, glaring at Xiao Jin, his eyes bloodshot. "What exactly are you? No one could do this! An ordinary person would die instantly from just one bite of demonic energy, you couldn't possibly be!"

"Xiao Jin is no good at all."

Xiao Jin walked up to him, looked down at the man who had completely broken down, and said earnestly with a serious expression:

"No, Xiao Jin is something... well, that's the gist of it."

"You and I are both born with the ability to see these things."

"God gave you this ability, not so you could use it to harm others."

"My master said that everything has a price, whether you pray to gods or ghosts."

"When you use ghosts to harm people, you are also sacrificing your own life. Your wife became like that because of you; and you are the way you are now because of your own choice."

Li Yifa knelt on the ground, his whole body trembling violently. After a long while, he suddenly let out a hoarse roar, then sprang up from the ground and pounced on Xiao Jin:

"I kill you!"

With lightning speed, Yun Ziang grabbed his collar from behind, pulled him back, twisted his arm behind his back, pinned him to the ground, and pressed his face against the cold tile floor with his knee.

"You still dare to move? I've told you so much, and you didn't listen to a single word, did you?"

Xiao Jin slowly walked over, looked down at Li Yifa's face, and then gently tapped the back of his head with her little fist.

Li Yifa's eyes rolled back, and he completely fainted.

Xiao Jin clapped her hands, turned around and walked to the room where Li Yifa had cast the spell. She pulled out the seven bamboo strips stuck in the dark soil from the copper basin, broke them one by one, and with each break, a wisp of extremely thin black smoke rose from the bamboo strip and drifted into the air and dissipated.

She poured the bottle of corpse oil into the aluminum pot, along with the rotten wood chips and ashes from the coffin lid. She then pasted three talismans on top and recited a short incantation.

The talisman ignited into a bright yellow flame, which licked the mixture in the aluminum pot, burning it clean.

Yun Ziang walked over, saw the transparent sealed bag containing hair and gauze on the table, and hesitated:

"Could this be my dad's hair and blood?"

Xiao Jin looked up, nodded her little head, and said sweetly, "Yes."

"If you burn it, your nephew's curse will be lifted."

Without saying a word, Yun Ziang took out a lighter from his pocket, squatted down, and lit a corner of the sealed bag.

The flames licked the plastic, burning the hair and gauze inside. The hair curled and turned to ash, while the bloodstains on the gauze quickly turned black and dried in the flames, eventually melting into a charred mess along with the plastic.

The firelight illuminated his face, and also the small face of Xiao Jin standing beside him, looking down at the flame.

"It's over," Yun Ziang said with a sigh.

He turned to look at the basement, which had been smashed to pieces. It was just as Xiao Jin had said earlier, that she would tear the whole place down.

He hesitated for a moment, "But what should we do with this old man?"

Should we call the police? What charge should we pursue?

Xiao Jin blinked. "Huh? What do you mean?"

"Are we just going to leave him here and ignore him?" Yun Ziang frowned.

"This is his home. If we don't put him here, where else can we put him?" Xiao Jin looked confused and scratched her head.

Yun Zi'ang met Xiao Jin's clear, bright eyes and chuckled for a moment, "What if he retaliates against us?"

"Isn't it said that if you don't nip the weeds in the bud, there will be endless trouble later?"

Xiao Jin tried to understand Yun Ziang's words, but after a moment, she shook her head. "Xiao Jin doesn't know what to do either."

Yun Ziang clicked his tongue lightly, "Why don't we go up first?"

"I called Yun Ziqian and asked him to come up with a solution."

This is a hot potato; it's better to ask his brother to handle it.

Yun Zi'ang put the longevity jade back around Xiao Jin's neck, then took Xiao Jin's hand and walked upwards.

Before leaving, Xiao Jin took Li Yifa's bell. She shook it in her hand and muttered to herself, "Without this, he probably won't be able to get revenge on us, right?"

Yun Ziang was looking down at his phone and didn't hear it.

The two walked out of the basement, and Yun Ziang started calling Yun Ziqian.

Seeing this, Xiao Jin released Yun Ziang's hand, walked to the steps outside the tea room, sat down, and waited for Yun Ziang.

She patted her tummy. "I ate so much today!"

"very nice."

She smacked her lips, as if savoring the memory.

Suddenly, a pair of legs appeared in her field of vision.

Xiao Jin paused for a moment, looked up, and saw a familiar face.

It's an empty struggle.

Xiao Jin asked in surprise, "Ah, what are you doing here?"

Kong Zheng hadn't expected to see Xiao Jin here. "I'm looking for someone. What about you?"

"Xiao Jin is also here to find someone," Xiao Jin said frankly.

Kong Zheng looked up at the tea room behind Xiao Jin. "You're not here to see the owner of this tea room, Li Yifa, either, are you?"

Xiao Jin looked at Kong Zheng with some confusion, "Also?"

"I'm here to see Li Yifa," Kong Zheng replied.

Xiao Jin became wary and stared at him seriously. "What do you want with him? You're not planning to do anything bad, are you?"

Kong Zheng was stunned for a moment, then realized what was happening. "He's selling ghosts. I'm here to investigate this."

When Xiao Jin heard that he was also here to catch bad guys, she immediately breathed a sigh of relief and laughed, "So you're here to catch bad guys too."

"That bad guy has been defeated by Xiao Jin."

Kong Zheng's expression froze instantly, staring blankly at Xiao Jin.

Defeat?

Is it the one he's thinking of defeating?

Xiao Jin once again shattered Kong Zheng's worldview. He gasped, "Are you all alone?"

"And there are also great-nephews and great-nieces," Xiao Jin replied, pointing behind her.

At this moment, Yun Ziang also came out, looking down as he sent a message: "My brother didn't answer the phone."

After sending the message, he looked up and noticed Kong Zheng. "Wow, that's strange, what are you doing here?"

"Have you dealt with Li Yifa?" Kong Zheng asked urgently for confirmation.

Yun Ziang couldn't figure out Kong Zheng's intentions, so he didn't dare to answer for a moment. Instead, he looked down at Xiao Jin.

Xiao Jin smiled and explained, "He's here to catch the bad guys too!"

Yun Zi'ang was a little confused and replied vaguely, "Ah, if you're looking for Mr. Li, he's sleeping in the basement right now."

He was indeed sleeping; he really wasn't lying.

Upon hearing this, Kong Zheng bypassed Yun Zi'ang and went to see for himself.

Yun Zi'ang watched Kong Zheng's retreating figure, "Holy crap, is this guy friend or foe?"

"Should we run or stay?"

Xiao Jin followed Yun Ziang's gaze and said earnestly, "Xiao Jin doesn't think he's a bad person. He's very kind and has helped many people."

Yun Ziang looked down at Xiao Jin, raised his hand and touched Xiao Jin's head. Suddenly, his phone vibrated. It was Yun Ziqian calling him back.

Yun Ziang walked to the side and answered the call.

He was on the phone when Kong Zheng, who had just gone downstairs, rushed back up. He looked at Xiao Jin and asked breathlessly:

"Did you do this?"

"Yes! It was Xiao Jin who made it!" Xiao Jin nodded vigorously.

Kong Zheng looked at Xiao Jin with complicated emotions. He knew that Xiao Jin was very talented and capable, but he did not expect her to be this powerful.

He came today simply to gather some information, following his master's instructions.

They had been keeping an eye on Li Yifa for a long time, and there had been new progress in the last few days. They never expected that such a big fish would be taken down by a four-year-old child all by himself.

Kong Zheng opened his mouth hesitantly, "Then, then you guys go first, I'll come and find someone to handle this."

"Really?" Xiao Jin's eyes lit up. "Then it's up to you. Xiao Jin is going to have breakfast now."

Kong Zheng nodded slightly. Xiao Jin tugged at Yun Ziang, who was engrossed in the phone call, and said, "Grand-nephew, let's go back. We can leave this to him."

Upon hearing this, Yun Ziang paused, turned to look at Kong Zheng, and only then did he notice that Kong Zheng had already come up.

Kong Zheng met his gaze and said, "You guys leave first. I'll arrange for someone to handle this."

"Won't we get into trouble?" Yun Ziang asked tentatively.

"No," Kong Zheng answered with certainty.

Yun Ziang hesitated for a moment before pulling Xiao Jin away.

Before leaving, Xiao Jin waved to Kong Zheng, "Bye-bye, Kong Kong."
