Game of Thrones: Dance of the Dragons
Chapter 10 The Blessed Prince
"Prince, are you alright?" Ilik strode forward.
He could clearly see that Baylor was starting to breathe irregularly. His face naturally turned like that of an ordinary child, but his hands were far too hot, like mutton that had been roasting over a fire for a long time.
"Sir Illicium, I'm fine, and I've never felt so good," Baylor said with a smile, leaning against a tree trunk.
The Targaryens are naturally immune to fire.
In Sir Illick's eyes, his heavy breathing and irregular fever were extremely dangerous signs.
Only Beller himself knew that only after the white deer's blood entered his body could he clearly feel his previously slow-beating heart regain its vitality.
At this moment, it felt as if there was an inexhaustible flame in his chest, slowly flowing to every part of his body.
"Your Highness, please forgive my intrusion. In my knowledge, your current condition is extremely life-threatening."
"I think we should leave immediately and return to the camp so that the maesters of the Citadel can examine you!" Ilic said seriously, unwilling to believe the young prince's words.
He was a member of the royal guard, ordered by the king to protect the young prince.
If anything happens to the prince, his honor and his family will be severely punished by His Majesty the King!
"Sir Illicium, I agree with your concerns about me. Let's go back." Baylor nodded.
"Thank you!" Ilik was overjoyed, never expecting that the young prince would not act like a child at all.
After expressing his gratitude, Ilik helped Beller onto his horse and they quickly headed towards the camp.
……
As dusk fell inside the camp.
Renilla was covered in blood, and half of her silver-gold hair was dyed red, but she sat down to rest by the campfire with great excitement.
Behind him, Christon Cole beckoned to his servants and ordered that the wild boar be given to the best cook in the camp, but the heart be kept for her.
"Where is Beller? Why isn't he here to greet his dear sister?" Renella looked around and turned to ask the servant beside her.
"Your Highness, Prince Bellor and Sir Illic have gone to the western hillside to enjoy the scenery and are not expected to return until tomorrow morning," the servant replied respectfully.
"Tsk, this brat! How many wild beasts are in this Royal Forest? What if something happens to him?!" Renilla stood up worriedly.
Without bothering to change her clothes, she turned and walked towards a black horse that no one had ever ridden, preparing to go west herself and bring back her beloved younger brother.
"Princess, it's too late now. You might encounter danger if you go out!" Christon Cole hurriedly raised his hand to stop the princess.
"Please step aside, Sir Cole, I'm going to find my brother," Renilla said firmly.
"I'm very sorry, Your Highness, but I cannot let you leave," Cole said firmly.
Just as Sir Illicus protected Prince Baelor, the King entrusted him with the task of protecting Princess Renella at all costs.
"Princess, Sir Cole is doing this for your safety."
"Secondly, Prince Baelor is protected by Ser Illic, so he will not be in any danger," Jason Lannister earnestly advised the princess.
He is the Duke of the Westerlands, a member of House Lannister, and one of Princess Rhaenyra's most ardent suitors.
Before the Kingsguard hunt, Jason had hinted to the king more than once that he hoped to marry the princess to him, making the Westerlands the Targaryen dynasty's most powerful ally!
Viserys did not agree. In his mind, the best husband for his daughter was undoubtedly his eldest son, Baelor Targaryen.
This way, we can both follow family traditions and prevent a repeat of the Valyrian family's situation.
"Since there's no danger, why can't I personally take my brother back to the safer camp?" Renilla sneered, glaring angrily at Jason Lannister.
If Cole acted out of a sense of duty to the Kingsguard, then Lord Jason Lannister intended to use this opportunity to cause a possible accident involving the prince, thereby continuing his marriage plans.
"Princess, I didn't say you shouldn't bring the prince back, I'm just worried it's too dangerous for him to go out alone late at night. If you take me with you..." Duke Jason Lannister's mind worked quickly.
Unfortunately, the Seven Gods will not let his plan succeed.
"Oh, even if I take you with me, your heart might not be with me." Beller said breathlessly, dismounting with the help of Sir Illic.
"Baelor! Why did you suddenly run out? Do you know how dangerous the night is in the Royal Guard?!" Renilla hurriedly stepped forward and carefully examined his body.
"Sister, I wasn't in any danger at all. I even saw the White Deer, the king of the forest, and it healed my body with its blood!" Belle proudly showed off.
"Really?"
"The white deer is a symbol of good fortune and royal power. The fact that it is willing to appear in person to see you is enough to prove that you are a child blessed by the seven gods!"
"Is it possible that my own appearance and qualities have won the approval of the White Deer?" Compared to the ethereal Seven Gods, Baylor preferred to believe in himself.
"Princess, I apologize for interrupting this precious moment, but please allow the prince to undergo the scholar's examination." Ilik summoned the scholar and briefly explained the unusual condition of Prince Beller.
"Prince, please come into the tent with me and undergo a rigorous inspection." The scholar's demeanor was respectful, but his tone carried an unquestionable authority.
Beile entered the tent. He intended to use this opportunity to inform all the nobles from the seven kingdoms who had come to hunt that the king's eldest son had recovered!
Outside the tent, Renilla ordered the maester to send a message to the king via raven and inquired of Sir Illic for details.
"That's how it is, Your Highness. We've been enjoying the scenery the whole way, and we haven't seen the white deer the prince mentioned."
"So you mean my brother is lying?" Renilla questioned.
"Your Highness, I am simply answering truthfully about everything I saw," Ilik replied respectfully, bowing his head.
Renilla looked towards the tent. She believed that Baylor was not a liar, much less someone who would joke about his own body.
Given the current situation, a conclusion can only be drawn after the bachelor's degree examination is completed.
……
The east side of the camp.
As the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, Alison, with her three children, moved among all the nobles and ladies, befriending them and secretly forging alliances.
The nobles were very friendly and, having received benefits from the Hightower family, naturally sided with Allison, praising Prince Aegon as the heir to the Iron Throne.
Helena was having a great time by the fire, hugging her jars and bottles filled with insects.
Suddenly, she released her grip, fragmented images flashing through her mind: "Blood and fire will give the dragon a new life..."
