Game of Thrones: Dance of the Dragons

Chapter 25 Attempting to Contact Silverwing

"You want to use a dragon to fight a dragon?"

"Don't joke around. You're just an ordinary wizard who knows a little magic. You can't even touch a dragon, let alone get close to one."

Allison couldn't help but find it amusing.

Dragons belong only to the Targaryens; this is basic common sense in Westeros. That this witch from Asherah doesn't even know this makes Alison seriously doubt whether this woman is trustworthy at all.

"The flame will guide us."

"Your Majesty, please be patient and witness the miracle."

Having said that, the witch stepped back towards the dark figure behind her, and then miraculously disappeared before her eyes.

……

Inside the dragon's lair.

The Dragon Guard fluently called out to the Silverwing, who had just fallen asleep, in ancient Valyrian.

Renilla and Damon turned around, mounted their dragons, and waited by their side.

"Roar—"

After flying all night, Silverwing, irritated by the noise, climbed up, but only let out two symbolic roars without spitting out dragon flames or even issuing a warning.

The Dragon Guards were already used to this and did not back down. Instead, they continued to call out in Valyrian.

"Prince, Silverwing has arrived at the dragon's lair. Please come forward."

The Dragon Guard Captain respectfully stepped aside, not forgetting to signal Renilla and Damon to control the dragon and step back a little so as not to disturb the displeased Silverwing.

Once everything was ready, the Dragon Guard gestured for Prince Beile to step forward.

Silverwing truly lives up to its reputation as the second greatest dragon after Vormisor. Its silver scales are dazzling, and its roar and posture are so graceful, unlike Vaghar, whose wings have holes of varying sizes.

"What a magnificent dragon!" Baylor exclaimed in amazement.

Take a deep breath, walk slowly forward, and prepare to try the first contact.

Look at me, Silverwing!

As Baelor spoke in the High Valyrian language, he suddenly smelled a strange fragrance.

But with the dragon right in front of him, he had no time to think and could only reach out and approach step by step.

Silverwing also noticed the presence of a golden-silver-haired boy, sensing the same bloodline as his first master, Alexandra, and curiously lowered its dragon head to examine him.

"That's great. Silverwing didn't reject Beller, which means the first contact went smoothly." Renilla couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

"We still need to be careful. Just because they don't reject it doesn't mean they'll be tamed easily." Damon was extremely vigilant, glancing around every now and then.

That bitch Alison hasn't made a move yet; either she's holding back, or she has other plans.

"Oh no! Silverwing has lost control! Quickly protect the prince and get him out of the dragon's lair!" the dragon guard captain roared.

Suddenly, the previously calm Silverwing raised its dragon head, aiming directly below where Beile was, preparing to unleash its dragon flames.

Damon reacted the fastest, immediately instructing Koraksh to assume an attack stance, blocking and drawing Silverwing's attention.

"Brother, come with me!" Renella dismounted from the dragon's back, quickly stepped forward, took Beller's hand, and prepared to lead him away.

But Baylor stopped him.

"I'm fine, sister."

"If I run away, a dragon battle is inevitable."

There is a precedent of Dreamfire going out of control.

Baylor knew perfectly well that Silverwing wasn't angry because he was incompetent, but because he already possessed the Glutton, that infamous wild dragon.

It's obvious without even thinking that the guy must have come to Dragonstone a lot to hunt or harass others in order to get food.

As the saying goes, every wrong has its perpetrator and every debt its debtor. If we can't catch that cunning glutton, can't we take our anger out on its master?

Beller patted Rhaenyra's hand, signaling her not to worry, then calmly extended his right hand and called out in Valyrian:

"Calm down, Silverwing!"

"Obey my orders!"

"roar--"

Silverwing twisted its body in frustration, and as expected, it withdrew its action of breathing dragon flames. Then, it slowly lowered its dragon head and cautiously approached Beile.

If it were anyone else, running away would be their best option, because the dragon was already aggressive.

But instead of running away, Beile stared at Silverwing with a confident and sharp gaze, and boldly stretched out a hand and placed it on the dragon's head that was approaching.

Immediately afterwards, as if they were telepathically connected, the two closed their eyes at the same time.

A few seconds later, Silverwing reopened its eyes, the anger gone, replaced by a hint of regret. It turned and crawled back to its dragon lair.

Beller did the same. After opening his eyes, he waved to Renilla and the others behind him, indicating that he was unharmed.

The scene before them left the dragon guards behind them dumbfounded, completely unable to believe that the prince would act so boldly.

But he was also afraid that rushing forward would disturb Silverwing, whose emotions had calmed down, so he did not get close.

"That bastard, I'll deal with you when we get back!" Renilla patted her chest, trying to calm her racing heart.

At the same time, they were delighted by Beller's safety and boldness.

She knew that her brother Baelor was no ordinary Targaryen, but the prince prophesied in the legends of Ice and Fire!

"Brother is so amazing!" Helena was protected at the back by the guards, but the expression on her face showed no surprise that Baylor had succeeded.

"Spare me, sister, I barely made it back alive." Just as Beller was about to walk to Renilla's side, he suddenly took a step back.

"Enough with the nonsense, come over here and let me take a look!" Renilla commanded sternly.

Beller dared not resist and could only obediently step forward, allowing Renilla to inspect him at will.

After confirming that Baylor was safe and sound, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, tapping Baylor's forehead with one hand. "You, you! If you dare let go of my hand again, I'll lock you in the Red Castle and never let you out again!"

"Okay, I understand."

Beller shrank back, not daring to utter a word of resistance, letting Renilla take him back.

"Uncle, I'll take Baylor back to see the maester first. I'll leave the Dragon's Lair in your care," Renilla called out, turning her head.

"Understood," Damon replied, his gaze remaining fixed on Baylor as he left.

It must be admitted that his nephew was incredibly brave; faced with the dragon's rampage, he didn't lose his composure at all...

I don't know if he's great or just a madman.

"Besides feeding the sheep, what else have you fed them? Or rather, has anyone approached the dragon's lair?" Damon looked down at the dragon guards.

Just as Baylor was taming the dragon, Damon also smelled that strange odor.

His experience traveling the continent in his youth told him that it might be perfume from a free trade city-state, or it might be a very stimulating poison.

In short, this is definitely not the smell of a dragon's lair or a dragon.

The Dragon Guards looked at each other, asking one another what was going on.

Seeing that no one spoke, Damon had no reason to hesitate. He slowly stepped off the dragon's back, drew his sword "Dark Sisters," and planted it on the ground.

"Fine, since none of you will talk, we'll interrogate you one by one until you open your mouths!"
