Mr. Liang, you mustn't covet other people's fiancées!

Chapter 52: Was he kicked out by Wen Li?

"But she should have known these things in the first place," Jiang You said.

Liang Chaoxu became serious: "I will explain my affairs with her myself. As for you, instead of focusing on investigating others, you should first think about the path you should take."

After saying that, he turned and walked towards Wen Li's direction.

Jiang You stood there, watching his back pass through the crowded people and walk to Wen Li, who was standing in front of the roasted chestnut stall.

Wen Li looked up and saw him, then handed him the peeled chestnuts she was holding: "Want to try one?"

Liang Chaoxu's gaze lingered on her face for a moment, then he lowered his head, grasped her wrist, ate the chestnut from her hand, and then took the bag from her hand in a natural and smooth motion.

Jiang You stared for a long time, then slowly withdrew his gaze, turned around, and left in the opposite direction.

Seeing Jiang You leave, Wen Li immediately withdrew her hand, turned around and walked forward: "Let's go."

Liang Chaoxu watched her resolute back as if the person who had just handed him the chestnuts had nothing to do with her.

He acted with me for his sake.

Do you really have feelings for him?

After this ordeal, the two lost interest in continuing their stroll and left the temple fair with the flow of people.

On the way back to the private sanatorium, both of them were preoccupied with their own thoughts and remained silent.

Back in the room, the nurse came to change Wen Li's dressing.

After finishing, Wen Li went back to her bedroom, changed into her pajamas, lay down, pulled the blanket up to her chin, and prepared for a nap. The room was warm and cozy from the heating, the curtains were drawn, and drowsiness overwhelmed her.

Wen Li had just fallen asleep when the mattress sank slightly.

Liang Chaoxu sat down on the edge of the bed, his hand resting on her waist through the blanket. After a while, he lifted the blanket and lay down, moving very gently, his arm slipping behind her waist to pull her into his arms.

Wen Li suddenly opened her eyes and turned to look at him: "What are you doing!"

"Take a nap." As he spoke, his breath fell on the back of her neck, warm and ticklish. His lips slowly moved down the skin behind her ear, kissing her neck little by little, as if he wanted to savor every inch of it.

His hand slid from her waist to her lower abdomen, slowly moving upwards through the fabric of her pajamas, his fingertips pausing below her ribs, gently drawing circles.

Wen Li's breath hitched, and she raised her elbow to shove him: "Liang Chaoxu!"

"Mmm." His lips brushed against the skin of her neck, and he gave a muffled reply, seemingly responding but actually just going through the motions.

Wen Li turned her head away from his kiss, rolled over out of his embrace, and sat up: "Go out, go sleep in another room."

Liang Chaoxu smiled, grabbed her waist with his large hand, pulled her back, and leaned in close, his nose almost touching hers. His gaze was down, fixed on her lips.

"I want to ask you a question," he said, but his palm had already slipped under her clothes and touched the skin on her waist. When his cool fingertips brushed against her waistline, Wen Li flinched slightly.

Liang Chaoxu pulled his arms closer, hugged the person tightly, and lowered his head to kiss them.

Wen Li was a little breathless from his kiss, turned her head away, and lowered her voice: "What... what exactly do you want to say?"

He followed her lips with another kiss before pulling away slightly, his forehead pressed against hers, his voice slightly hoarse: "Do you want to get rid of Jiang You?"

His hand traced her waistline upwards, his fingertips brushing against the contours of her ribs, his palm resting on her chest, feeling the rhythm of her heartbeat.

Wen Li looked at him, her breathing still not completely calm, raised her hand to push him away, and asked, "What do you want to do?"

Liang Chaoxu was pushed back a little by her, his gaze falling on her reddened lips, the corners of his lips curving slightly upwards. He then lowered his head and kissed the side of her neck, his lips brushing against the curve of her collarbone, leaving a trail of faint teeth marks.

He mumbled, "Why don't we pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend and make him give up?"

His kisses traveled down her neckline, lingering there.

Wen Li was fully awake. She looked down at the head buried in the crook of her neck, her voice still trembling with breathlessness: "Are you serious?"

Liang Chaoxu lifted his face from her shoulder, looking directly at her. There was no smile in his eyes, but rather a deep and steady seriousness: "Of course."

As he spoke, he placed his other hand on her ear, leaned down, and nuzzled her cheek with his nose, lowering his voice: "This is the only way to solve this once and for all."

Wen Li turned her head away: "This method is feasible, but I need to find someone else to act with me."

Liang Chaoxu gritted his teeth: "If you go to someone else, Jiang You will definitely interfere. If you come to me, he won't dare to touch me."

"I don't want you." Wen Li straightened her head.

"Be good, I want it." He lowered his head and kissed her again, this time deeper than before. "You can treat me like a tool, use me and then throw me away, I won't mind."

Wen Li was stunned and stared at him with wide eyes.

Liang Chaoxu was captivated by her gaze. He raised his hand to cover her eyes and said in a deep voice, "I have a very good sense of service."

"Liang Chaoxu, I've said it." Wen Li pulled his hand away, looked at him, and said slowly and deliberately, "Even if it's just an act to make Jiang You give up, I don't want you to act with me."

She knew that Jiang You and Liang Chaoxu were both troublesome.

As the saying goes, it's easy to invite a god in, but hard to send him away. What's the difference between having Liang Chaoxu pretend to be your boyfriend/girlfriend and inviting a wolf into your house?

Liang Chaoxu's gaze lingered on her face for a long time. Finally, he didn't speak, but threw back the covers, got out of bed, and stood with his back to her for a moment: "Okay, whatever you say."

The bedroom door was closed, and silence returned.

After listening to the footsteps completely leave the room, Wen Li stared at the ceiling for a while, then pulled the blanket tighter around herself, completely wide awake.

Liang Chaoxu came out of the bedroom, went straight downstairs and got into his car. He called Gu Zhihuai, who answered quickly, and there was laughter in the background, like at some kind of gathering.

"Come have a drink with me," Liang Chaoxu said.

"Why aren't you staying at Wen Li's place? Why are you coming to drink with me?" Gu Zhihuai's voice was clearly teasing. "What, got kicked out?"

Liang Chaoxu remained silent.

There was a two-second silence on Gu Zhihuai's end, then he laughed: "You really got kicked out?"

"I'll send you the address." Liang Chaoxu hung up the phone.

Twenty minutes later, Gu Zhihuai pushed open the door to the private room of the private club that Liang Chaoxu often went to, and saw him sitting alone on the sofa with his coat off and draped to the side, and the wine glass in front of him was half empty.

Gu Zhihuai sat down opposite him, poured himself a glass of wine, and slowly took a sip: "Tell me, what's going on?"

Liang Chaoxu held the cup and twirled it twice before recounting what had happened that afternoon.

After hearing this, Gu Zhihuai didn't put down his wine glass; he leaned back on the sofa and laughed so hard his shoulders were shaking.

Liang Chaoxu looked up at him, his gaze cool: "Have you laughed enough?"

Gu Zhihuai wiped his eyes. "No, I just couldn't help it. You, the dignified young master Liang, are practically offering yourself up as someone's tool, and they don't even want you?"

Liang Chaoxu ignored him and took another sip.

Gu Zhihuai stopped laughing and became serious: "Honestly, your method won't work. She's not stupid; of course she's wary of you. Besides, even if others can't see through your intentions, Wen Li certainly can."

Liang Chaoxu looked up at him and said, "Then what do you suggest we do?"
