Night Rose

Chapter 117 It's Better to Give Up

Zhou Zheng woke up on the second day of his deep sleep. He had just moved his fingers when Su Jin, who was resting by his bedside, noticed him.

As if she had discovered a new continent, Su Jin raised his hand and flicked his other fingers as well.

Her brow twitched violently, and she grabbed Zhou Zheng's arm excitedly. "Zhou Zheng, can you hear me? Can you open your eyes?"

"Baby……"

A soft murmur escaped his lips, and Su Jin almost burst into tears. She wiped away the tears that slid down her cheeks and threw herself into Zhou Zheng's arms.

Before Zhou Zheng had even fully opened his eyes, he felt a wet patch on his chest.

"Are you thirsty? Are you hungry?" Su Jin quickly looked up and asked him.

Zhou Zheng received IV drips and nutritional supplements for two days, but he was neither thirsty nor hungry.

But seeing that his lips were a little chapped, Su Jin picked up a cotton swab from the bedside table, moistened it with water, and didn't dare to give him water directly.

The doctor and nurses were called over by the bell and gave him a full check-up. After confirming that there was nothing wrong, Su Jin was relieved and pushed him back to the ward. She first video-chatted with her grandfather to let him know that everything was alright.

Grandpa and the Wang family couple only believed that Zhou Zheng was truly alright after seeing him in good spirits in the video.

Su Jin didn't dare to leave the country. As one of the main people in charge of the convoy, she was afraid to face the concerned looks of their family members and always felt that she had let them down.

Su Jin planned to keep Zhou Zheng's father's visit a secret to avoid upsetting him, as he seemed too indifferent and didn't appear to care about Zhou Zheng at all.

Zhou Zheng moved his arms and legs. They were fine; they were still his body, and he felt no resistance when moving them. There were no fractures or pain.

He tried to stand up, but Su Jin was even more nervous than him and insisted on supporting him, afraid that he would fall.

With his 1.9-meter height pressing down on Su Jin, he was afraid he would be crushed by her if he didn't secretly exert some strength.

"How are you? Does it hurt anywhere?" Su Jin asked him anxiously.

Zhou Zheng shook his head and pulled the person into his arms. "I'm sorry to have worried you. I'm fine, everything's fine."

"You slept for so long even though you're fine. I was so worried about you." Su Jin raised her hand to hit him, but when she saw that he was wearing a hospital gown, she couldn't bring herself to do it.

Zhou Zheng grabbed her hand and lightly punched it on his shoulder. "Alright, it's all my fault for making you worry."

Su Jin couldn't hold back her grievances any longer. She nestled against his chest and hugged his waist tightly. "I was really scared. Luckily, I trusted my car. I knew you guys would be alright."

"It's alright, I can still see another hundred kilometers now, do you want to take a look?" Zhou Zheng deliberately teased her to make her laugh.

Su Jin was both amused and exasperated. She showed him a video of the damaged car, saying, "You can still drive it, but the car might not be able to. Look at how badly it's been wrecked."

The video was filmed by Tu Ying, who was expressing his distress over the car while repeatedly groaning and crying out in pain, creating a strangely immersive experience.

Zhou Zheng fell silent as he looked at the car. It was expensive, and it was all paid for by Su Jin. What was worse, what would they use to win the Schalke Rally? If the car was gone, how difficult would it be to get another one? Did they expect Su Jin to pay for it again?

No matter how much money Su Jin has, she's not here to be a sucker.

"It's okay, it can still be used after some modifications, don't worry," Su Jin quickly comforted him when he didn't speak.

"The car breaking down has nothing to do with you. You were driving very well. It was He Zhangxing who deliberately cut you off and caused the accident. I have already submitted an application to the organizers, and they will definitely investigate."

Zhou Zheng knew that even if the organizers investigated, it would be useless; there were too many reasons to explain the collisions that occurred on the track.

If He Zhangxing dared to do this, he must have a backup plan.

Zhou Zheng really wanted to go back to Nanyuan immediately, find Zhou Chengzhuo, and crack open the intact half of his head again! Without the race car, how could they continue the race?

Su Jin was probably afraid that he would overthink things, so she didn't mention the racing at all, not even Tu Ying, who loved money more than anything. She just came to see how he was recovering.

Three days later, Zhou Zheng and Wang Tianle were discharged from the hospital.

Wang Tianle was actually fine a long time ago, but Tu Ying insisted on keeping him in the hospital for a few days to recuperate, otherwise Tu Ying wouldn't dare to see Wang Tianle's parents.

They headed back home, and the group flew back to Nanyuan.

While waiting for takeoff, Tu Ying suddenly received a message and let out a shout.

Half the cabin was filled with people peering at him.

Tu Ying chuckled and said, "Sorry, sorry to bother you."

"What's wrong, Boss Tu?" Su Jin took off her sunglasses and tucked them into her collar.

"Hey, He Zhangxing is really done for this time! He's been punished, and the Zhuling Racing Team has been penalized too! Two-year ban! That's really gratifying!" Tu Ying handed them her phone.

Su Jin glanced at the notice carefully, somewhat incredulous, "The results came out so quickly this time, they really were punished?"

"He deserves to be punished! That bastard wrecked our car like that!" Tu Ying angrily clenched his fist.

Tu Ying has been so angry these past few days that she hasn't been able to sleep. Her million-dollar race car was just destroyed in the crash.

Not only the race car, but the sponsorship also disappeared. The bosses who had agreed to sponsor the Schalke Rally all withdrew; they were no longer willing to continue.

Even the most promising new racing team is no match for a stable old team. The owners felt it was bad luck to see their own logo tumbling and crushed during the live stream.

During the race, it wasn't just their cars that flipped, but also their emblems.

The team, which was originally ready to compete in the national competition, suddenly fell silent, lacking both funds and racing cars.

Su Jin wouldn't let him mention it. Although Tu Ying knew it was useless to blame anyone, he couldn't help but wonder how all the money he had invested had gone down the drain. Could he ever get his money back? Would Su Jin leave the team and find another team to compete in the Schalke Rally?

Tu Ying considered all sorts of possibilities, but couldn't find a way out for the convoy.

This is truly the end!

Unfortunately, Tu Ying had to swallow these bitter pills all by himself. He looked out the window and felt a little sad. He should have booked a train ticket and gone home.

Those people in Nanyuan were waiting to see him make a fool of himself, and now he really has become a joke.

After the plane landed, none of them were in the mood to talk. Tu Ying returned to the tavern and stayed inside.

Wang Tianle went home, and Zhou Zheng also brought his grandfather home.

Su Jin was the only one without any relatives in Nanyuan. She stood alone downstairs, feeling lonely in the wind for a while, before turning around and going upstairs.

The once bustling room had become quiet. Su Jin opened a can of beer for herself. This beer was bought for her by Zhou Zheng when he last came, saying that it would help her to have some inspiration for repairing cars.

Su Jin sipped her slightly bitter beer, sighed, and looked at the moon outside.

"Moon, oh moon, tell me, what should I do? I don't know where to go."

She called Ling Keke, seeking comfort from her friend.

After hearing all this, Ling Keke took a deep breath. "Should we go back to China right now? I feel like you can't take it anymore."

"Take care of your own affairs before you come back. I'm fine. Luckily, Zhou Zheng is alright this time. If something had happened to him, I really wouldn't have been able to handle it," Su Jin said.

"That race car is totaled, what are you going to do? You haven't even told him the truth yet, saying it can just be repaired. What, you're planning to spend another two million? Sherry, wake up, my darling, that's way too expensive!"

"It would be better to..."

give up.

Ling Keke shouldn't have said those words. She realized her mistake halfway through and quickly shut up.

"Coco, I know what you're trying to say. We're good friends, and I won't get angry because of what you said, but I also won't give up easily because of it. Anyway, let's take it one step at a time. I still want to give it my best!"
