Cheng Lei pulled out a rope from under his seat and looked around.

A few steps to the right, there is a protruding boulder. Water flows down from both sides of the boulder, forming a relatively calm surface.

"Master Zhou, move the car as far to the right as possible! There are two big rocks over there that will block the car," Shen Tang shouted loudly towards the driver's seat.

Mr. Zhou leaned half his head out of the car window and glanced back.

"Okay!" Master Zhou shifted into gear and revved the engine a few times. The wheels spun in the mud and water, the car shook violently a few times, and slowly moved half a meter to the right.

"Go forward!" Shen Tang patted the carriage wall. "Keep close to the stones!"

The engine roared, and the wheels rolled over the gravel, finally moving forward two steps.

A wave of floodwaters swept down from afar, and the car was violently thrown between two rocks.

The carriage was tilted by the water flow, but thankfully it stopped sliding down.

Yilan gripped the edge of the carriage, swallowed hard, and asked, "Has the carriage stopped?"

"Things are stable for now," Shen Tang said.

"Master Zhou, come out quickly, don't worry about the car right now." Shen Tang pounded on the driver's side door.

Mr. Zhou leaned half his body out of the car window, holding a crowbar in his hand, and was prying down the car door.

The water had already reached the bottom edge of the car windows.

Cheng Lei carefully moved over. "Master Zhou, climb out of the car window."

He reached out his hand to Master Zhou, who grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the car window.

Everyone was sitting in the back of the truck.

"Let's go to the rock first. It's too dangerous in the car. We could be swept away at any moment," Shen Tang said.

She pointed to a crooked tree above the rock, "Once you're on the rock, tie the rope to that tree, and then you'll be safe."

"This young lady is right. Take it easy, one by one, and get off the bus quickly," said Master Zhou.

Yilan looked down at the car and frowned, saying, "The water is too strong."

"I'll go over first, then I'll pull you back. Move back a little!"

Cheng Lei put the rope around his body, stepped onto the edge of the carriage, and with a strong push, jumped onto the rock.

He turned around, tied one end of the rope around his waist, and threw the other end over.

Shen Tang tied the rope around Yilan's waist. "Hurry up, grab the rope, let's go!"

Yilan gritted her teeth and went into the water, which was already up to her waist. She moved forward with all her might.

"Relax, I'll pull you over." Cheng Lei pulled Yilan over with force.

Cheng Lei threw the rope back again. "Quick!"

"You go first!" Master Zhou said.

Shen Tang didn't refuse. Master Zhou was taller than her, and the water level was rising faster, so it was the best option for her to leave first.

The water had reached Shen Tang's chest. Cheng Lei shouted, "Relax, I'll pull you up!"

Shen Tang tried her best to stay afloat, and Cheng Lei gritted his teeth and dragged Shen Tang onto the rocks.

Shen Tang quickly untied the rope. "Hurry up!"

Master Zhou can swim, and after catching the rope, he quickly swam over.

All three of them climbed onto the stone.

The water was still rising. The water level around the rocks was getting higher and higher, and within seconds it had submerged the surface of the rocks beneath their feet.

"We need to get to higher ground quickly," Master Zhou said.

Shen Tang pointed to a crooked tree above, "Put the rope on, and we'll climb ashore."

"I'll try!" Cheng Lei tied a slipknot on his hand, swung his wrist, and tried to loop the rope several times but failed.

Cheng Lei felt a little flustered.

"No rush, calm down," Shen Tang said.

Cheng Lei took a deep breath, flicked his wrist, and finally hooked the tree trunk.

"It's done!" Cheng Lei turned around and smiled.

"Master Zhou, please go up first," Shen Tang said.

Master Zhou frowned. "Let the young man go up first. He's strong. Once he's up there, he can hold onto the rope."

Master Zhou is in his fifties, and his strength is no less than Cheng Lei's.

He felt guilty because he had taken the wrong path and caused everyone to be in danger.

"Master Zhou, hurry up! If we delay any longer, we won't be able to leave!" Cheng Lei shouted.

Master Zhou gritted his teeth and grabbed the rope.

"I'll hold onto the rope, and you climb forward by pushing off the cliff face," Cheng Lei said.

Master Zhou gritted his teeth and climbed up little by little.

He turned around and wrapped the rope around his hand a few times. "Go, I'll pull."

"Yilan, you go first," Shen Tang said.

Cheng Lei tightened the rope around her waist, and Yilan gripped the rope tightly with both hands.

"Open your feet and keep your balance," Shen Tang instructed.

Yilan was successfully pulled up.

"Shen Tang, hurry up!" Cheng Lei said.

Another wave of floodwaters rushed in, causing the car to shake violently a few times. The water level was getting higher and higher.

"Hurry up!" Cheng Lei tied the rope around Shen Tang's waist.

"Pull!" he shouted at Master Zhou, "Quickly!"

Shen Tang turned and glanced at him. "Cheng Lei, hold on tight!"

The current grew increasingly rapid, and Cheng Lei swayed, almost slipping off the rock. He clung tightly to the edge of the rock.

"Cheng Lei!" Yi Lan cried out in fear, clinging to the shore. "Hold on tight!"

Shen Tang looked back and said, "Master Zhou, put me down! I'll pull Cheng Lei up first."

"No need! I can manage, you go up quickly," Cheng Lei said through gritted teeth.

Master Zhou frowned. "No, the water flow is too strong!"

He loosened the rope, and Shen Tang slid down quickly, struggling to move to Cheng Lei's side. "Master Zhou, don't hold on anymore, tie the rope tightly to the tree."

Fearing the weight was too great, Shen Tang pulled Master Zhou down.

"Okay!" Master Zhou wrapped the rope around a few more times with force.

"Hold onto my waist!" Shen Tang slid down to Cheng Lei's side.

Cheng Lei hesitated and didn't move. "Hurry up!" Shen Tang urged.

Cheng Lei gritted his teeth and hugged Shen Tang tightly, while Shen Tang gripped his waistband with both hands.

"Is your belt sturdy?" Shen Tang asked.

Cheng Lei was both amused and exasperated. "It should be sturdy."

"What time is it? Stop laughing. Hurry up and climb up," Shen Tang said sternly.

Cheng Lei composed himself. "Hold on tight."

He gritted his teeth, strained his hands, and climbed up the mountain.

Seeing that the two had stabilized, Master Zhou also pulled them up from above.

Shen Tang clung to Cheng Lei and glanced back. The car had been swept more than ten meters away by the water and was now stuck in a pile of rocks downstream, its interior deformed from the pressure.

The two of them moved up little by little.

However, everyone had exhausted too much energy. Master Zhou gritted his teeth, his hands turning purple from the tightness of the brace.

Yilan wanted to help, but she couldn't muster the strength.

"Quick! Everyone, hurry!"

Shen Tang looked up and saw Huo Xiuyuan running over with several young men.

Tears immediately welled up in her eyes.

"Hold on tight!" Huo Xiuyuan grabbed the rope, gritted his teeth, and pulled upwards.

She looked up at him, her face showing a mixture of rain and tears.

Huo Xiuyuan stared into her eyes, which were red-rimmed and his brows were tightly furrowed. He wasn't wearing a raincoat, and rainwater was streaming down his hair.

The others came over and pulled, and the rope quickly went up, and they were soon on the shore.

When Cheng Lei saw Huo Xiuyuan, he remembered that Shen Tang was holding him tightly, and he panicked, so he loosened his grip.

"Rip—" Cheng Lei's belt made a snapping sound.

"Ah—hold on tight!" Shen Tang had barely finished shouting when Cheng Lei had already fallen!

"Cheng Lei!" Yi Lan leaned over the edge of the platform and looked down, her voice trembling.

Shen Tang was quickly pulled up, and she looked back—

The water was murky, covered with mud, sand and gravel, and no one could be seen.

"Cheng Lei—" Shen Tang frowned and looked down.

No one answered her, and Cheng Lei fell into the water.

"Give me the rope!"

Huo Xiuyuan untied the rope from Shen Tang's waist and jumped down.

"Huo Xiuyuan!" Shen Tang's blood rushed to her head.

She panicked completely.

Shen Tang felt a little dizzy, and Yi Lan quickly helped her up.

Shen Tang lay on the ground, looking at the rushing river, the water swirling with mud and sand.

The soldiers held on tightly to the rope, and Shen Tang stared at the taut rope, not daring to blink.

The rope loosened and tightened, tightened and loosened again, but Shen Tang lay there without crying.

Staring intently at the water's surface, her mind went completely blank.
