Lin Manni had already started drinking, and when she saw Shen Tang coming over, she quickly greeted him:

"Come on, after fighting for so long, how much do you have to say?"

Shen Tang sat down in her seat, feeling utterly exhausted.

"What's wrong?" Lin Manni leaned closer.

Shen Tang pouted, "He won't let me drink..."

Lin Manni chuckled. "It's alright, just drink it. He's not here anyway."

Shen Tang looked at the wine glass on the table, feeling extremely conflicted.

I'm craving it, but I can't drink it.

"Ring ring—" The phone in the corner rang.

The Paramount employee answered the phone and shouted in this direction:

"Sister Shen Tang—she's looking for you."

Shen Tang stood up in confusion and went to answer the phone.

"Feed?"

"It's me," Huo Xiuyuan said on the other end of the phone.

"I didn't drink it," Shen Tang quickly said.

Huo Xiuyuan was silent for a moment, then said, "You can drink, but don't drink too much. I'm afraid no one will take care of you if I'm not by your side."

Shen Tang's nose tingled, and she bit her lip without saying a word.

"Uncle Chen and I have decided to head to Diancheng right now. It's quite remote there, so communication might be difficult. Take good care of yourself."

Huo Xiuyuan's voice slowly flowed into Shen Tang's heart. Shen Tang held the microphone and nodded, saying:

"Okay. Be careful."

Shen Tang hung up the phone, feeling depressed.

She suddenly remembered what the old Taoist priest had said—a great calamity was coming from the southwest.

Diancheng is located in the southwest!

Will Huo Xiuyuan be alright?

Shen Tang picked up the phone and dialed back, wanting to give a few more instructions.

Upon answering the phone, Shen Tang hurriedly said, "Huo Xiuyuan, you must..."

"Hello," an old voice rang out, "Are you looking for that young man? He's already gone."

"Beep beep—" The phone call ended.

Shen Tang felt empty inside and sat there in a daze.

Song Zhiyi ran over, "Sister Shen Tang, what's wrong?"

Song Zhiyi had drunk some wine and was already tipsy.

"It's nothing," Shen Tang said with a smile as she turned around.

The two sat down together. Lin Manni looked at her, her expression turning serious.

"What happened? Has something happened?"

Shen Tang smiled and said, "No, Huo Xiuyuan allowed me to drink, but not too much."

"What are you waiting for? Come on, have a drink!"

Lin Manni handed Shen Tang a glass of wine, and they clinked glasses.

Shen Tang slowly took a sip of wine, the familiar sensation spreading across her tongue.

This feels amazing!

She leaned back in her chair, her gaze fixed on the stage, where Song Cheng'an was singing.

Song Cheng'an was tall and looked great in any clothes. He had one leg on a bar stool and one hand on the microphone stand, looking relaxed and carefree.

The song, seemingly hummed casually, has a melodious and moving tune, excellent pitch, and easy high notes, giving a very comfortable feeling.

Song Cheng'an also looked at Shen Tang, a slight smile playing on his lips.

Shen Tang squinted her eyes as she got lost, and she really was quite charming.

Lin Manni leaned closer, gesturing with her chin towards the stage: "How was it?"

Shen Tang raised her glass and took a sip. "Very good."

"I think so too." Lin Manni leaned on Shen Tang's shoulder and smiled.

Gu Siming sat opposite Lin Manni, frowning, and said, "You two are so blatantly commenting on other men right in front of me?"

Lin Manni's gaze did not leave him. "Look at his hands, long and strong, and... the veins are very prominent."

Shen Tang bit her lip and smiled, "Really?"

"Of course it's true. If you don't believe me, wait until he comes down and you'll see for yourself."

"What are you doing? What are you doing? I'm still alive!" Gu Siming shouted in dissatisfaction.

"Don't make a sound, we're talking about serious matters!" Lin Manni rolled her eyes at him.

"Alright, alright, let's get down to business. I'll go get you two more dishes." Gu Siming stood up and walked out.

Song Zhiyi, her cheeks flushed from drinking, slumped on the table, her eyes glazed as she looked at her brother on the stage, mumbling indistinctly:

"My brother has been a good singer since he was little... My dad says he's a star whose talent was wasted. There are girls who like him, they've circled the grasslands several times..."

She looked at Shen Tang and smiled, saying, "You...you like it too?"

Shen Tang looked at Lin Manni, "This has potential."

Lin Manni nodded, their eyes met, they smiled knowingly, and raised their glasses to clink.

After singing a song, Song Cheng'an strode off the stage with his long legs.

He walked to the table and sat down opposite Shen Tang.

He looked at her with a smile and said, "What are you two looking at me about?"

His gaze shifted back and forth between Lin Manni and Shen Tang.

"Are you interested in becoming a star?" Lin Manni asked.

"A celebrity?" Song Cheng'an frowned and asked.

"Yes, I want to start a company that specializes in cultivating stars. Would you be interested in becoming my first protégé?"

Lin Manni looked at him and said.

Song Cheng'an asked, somewhat puzzled, "Me? To become a star?"

"Do you think you can't do it?" Shen Tang asked with a smile.

Song Cheng'an looked at her, "Do you think I can do it?"

"Of course. Tall and long-legged, good-looking, and most importantly, a great singer. He's very relaxed on stage; a natural-born star."

Upon being praised by Shen Tang, Song Cheng'an's lips curved into a smile, and his eyebrows and eyes relaxed.

"Really?" He tilted his head to look at Shen Tang, his deep eyes filled with a smile.

Shen Tang looked away and picked up the wine beside her.

"Don't try to flirt with me. I've already told you there's no future for us."

Song Cheng'an pursed his lips regretfully and shrugged. "I feel regretful."

"Sister-in-law, you have to be my sister-in-law..."

Song Zhiyi suddenly sat up straight from the table and pointed at Shen Tang.

Song Cheng'an turned to look at her. "How much did you drink?"

Lin Manni chuckled softly and held up one finger. "One cup."

Song Cheng'an rubbed his forehead. "This is a complete mess."

"Can you drink alcohol?" Shen Tang asked Song Cheng'an.

Song Cheng'an tilted his head and laughed, "Don't forget where I'm from."

"How about a contest?" Song Cheng'an raised his wine glass to Shen Tang.

"No, my man isn't here. I can't drink too much; no one will take care of me if I do."

Song Cheng'an looked at her with a deep gaze, "Can I take care of this?"

"Don't come here. We're all smart people. Don't get messed with like that," Shen Tang interrupted him.

Song Cheng'an raised his wine glass, took a big gulp, and nodded, saying, "Understood."

Shen Tang turned to Lin Manni, "How's the equipment procurement going?"

Lin Manni leaned back on the sofa, gently swirling the wine glass in her hand.

"We should be there soon."

Shen Tang nodded. "The dismissal notice from the performing arts troupe should be coming down soon. We'll have time to deal with it properly then."

"Are you serious?" Song Cheng'an still couldn't quite believe it.

"Of course, you think I'm kidding you?" Shen Tang said. "Once the equipment arrives, I'll record one for you to see."

Song Cheng'an nodded and said, "Okay! But let's drink first today."

He raised his glass, and the three glasses clinked together.
