Upon arriving at the dormitory entrance, Qin Zheng placed his belongings by the door.

The female members all leaned over the railing and looked down.

Qin Zheng was handsome, dressed in a suit, and exuded a noble air.

"I'm Zhou Nan's cousin, and I brought some delicious food for everyone," Qin Zheng said upstairs.

The female members whispered among themselves.

"He even brought us some delicious food? This cousin is so thoughtful."

"I wonder if he's married yet?"

Shen Tang came down the stairs and glared at Qin Zheng.

"Cousin Zhou Nan, thank you." Shen Tang emphasized the word "cousin".

Qin Zheng smiled and said, "Of course, after all, you're a matchmaker. This bag of rose cakes is for you."

Shen Tang didn't stand on ceremony and said in a low voice, "Hurry up and leave, don't cause trouble for Nan Nan."

Zhao Wenjing followed her downstairs, picked up her things, and went upstairs.

Shen Tang gave Qin Zheng a warning look and went upstairs as well.

"You should go back now," Zhou Nan said softly.

"Okay," Qin Zheng looked at her with reluctance, gently touching her hand, "Have you fallen for any soldier?"

"No, not at all," Zhou Nan quickly replied.

"That's good," Qin Zheng leaned closer to her, "You can only like me."

Zhou Nan felt flustered by his breathing and turned around, saying, "Let's go back quickly."

She turned and walked upstairs. When she got to the second floor, she looked down from the railing.

Qin Zheng looked up at her and smiled.

Zhou Nan glanced next to Qin Zheng and was startled. She quickly said:

"Cousin, you should go back now!"

Qin Zheng smiled and waved his hand, saying, "Remember to miss your cousin."

Qin Zheng turned around and a cold, sharp gaze was fixed on his face.

Commander Zhang, his face cold, sized Qin Zheng up and down. "Who let you in?"

"You must be Commander Zhang?" Qin Zheng asked, his eyes wide. "I've long heard that you're responsible for your members and have strict management skills. Seeing you today confirms it. My Zhou Nan is truly blessed to have a commander like you."

Commander Zhang's expression softened somewhat, and he coughed lightly:

"This is the female members' dormitory. It's not convenient for a man like you to come here."

"Commander Zhang, how do you take care of yourself? Your skin is so good," Qin Zheng said earnestly.

"Leave after you've delivered the goods," Commander Zhang said in a deep voice.

"Okay, I'm leaving now." Qin Zheng said, turning and walking towards the door.

Commander Zhang lowered his head, raised his hand to gently stroke his cheek, and curled the corners of his mouth into a smile.

He then raised his head with a cold expression and said to the person upstairs:

"Go back, everyone. What are you looking at?"

The female members quickly pulled their heads back.

Qin Zheng brought Zhou Nan a lot of things, and Zhou Nan distributed some to each of her dorm rooms.

They stuffed a lot of apples into Shen Tang's and Zhao Wenjing's mouths, and Zhao Wenjing kept saying:

"Zhou Nan, your 'cousin' is so good to you. You can let him come visit you more often in the future."

As Shen Tang ate the rose petal cake, she smiled and said, "For the sake of the rose petal cake, I'll agree to let him come more often."

Zhou Nan smiled sweetly.

Recalling his bold behavior at the door, she couldn't help but blush again.

Shen Tang looked out the window; the soldiers in the neighboring courtyard were training.

She couldn't help but think of Huo Xiuyuan.

I wonder when he'll be back?

"Shen Tang, I believe you." Someone called out from the doorway.

Shen Tang went out to receive the letter—

From Xinjiang.

She tore open the letter, and a small, neatly pressed flower fell out.

The letter paper carried a faint fragrance of flowers.

The letter was written by Huo Xiuyuan.

He was transferred to Xinjiang.

He said it was beautiful there, with endless grasslands covered in flowers.

He said the night sky there was very bright, and the stars were so clear that it seemed you could reach out and pluck one from the sky.

He said he had learned to ride a horse and wanted to take her to gallop across the grasslands.

He said it was cold at night because he missed her...

Shen Tang looked at the words on the paper.

She had never experienced the emotions expressed in writing, word by word.

In this fast-paced era, people are used to voice and video calls. Even when they say "I love you," they don't need to think it through and just blurt it out. How much of that is genuine?

"A short letter carries deep feelings. Wishing you peace."

The final signature consisted of only one "H".

Shen Tang held the letter in her hands and read it over and over again.

Zhao Wenjing woke up and saw that Shen Tang was still reading the letter.

"The letter was written in English? Is it that hard to understand? How long have you been reading it?" Zhao Wenjing asked, lying on Shen Tang's bed.

Shen Tang folded the letter. "Yes, it was written in Russian."

"Huh?" Zhao Wenjing rubbed her eyes in confusion. "Don't lie to me."

She walked toward the restroom with her eyes half-closed.

After a while, Zhao Wenjing returned, looking much more energetic.

"Li Meihua—" Zhao Wenjing called out from the doorway, hands on her hips.

Li Meihua was knitting a scarf when she looked up at her.

"What's wrong?"

"You didn't clean the toilet, it stinks in there."

Li Meihua gripped the knitting needles in her hand tightly. "What are you yelling about? I'll go later."

"It's almost dark. Go and turn on the lights later, okay? Don't be blind and step in poop."

"It's none of your business. I'm a man of my word. I'll just swipe the card." Li Meihua was trembling with anger.

She thought that since no one was chasing her, she would just symbolically sweep the floor and rinse the water.

Who knew that Zhao Wenjing would insist on her going?

"Then I'll have to keep an eye on you. You have to go before the 12th."

Zhao Wenjing plopped down on the bed and looked up at the clock on the wall.

"You!" Li Meihua angrily grabbed her knitting needles and continued knitting.

She bent down and knitted a few stitches, but made all the mistakes. She threw the scarf on the table and stormed out the door.

Shen Tang smiled slightly.

Zhao Wenjing chased after him out the door, craning her neck and calling out with a smile:

"Li Meihua, go clean the toilets!"

Zhao Wenjing's voice sounded particularly loud in the empty corridor.

People were already craning their necks to look down.

Li Meihua walked faster and faster, and almost fell when she reached the bottom of the stairs.

"Be careful, hold the lamp, don't fall in," Zhao Wenjing kindly reminded her.

Li Meihua clenched her fists tightly and glared at her from behind.

Zhao Wenjing, you just wait!

If I can't handle Shen Tang, I can certainly handle you!

After cleaning the toilet, Li Meihua returned to the dormitory, and Zhao Wenjing waved goodbye.

"What does it taste like?"

Geng Yan also covered her nose and said to Li Meihua:

"Meihua, go wash up."

"I've already washed," Li Meihua said irritably.

"But...why does it still smell?" Geng Yan frowned.

Li Meihua glared at Geng Yan, then took the basin of soap and water and walked out of the dormitory.

The bathroom was empty; there wasn't a single person in it.

Li Meihua mustered her courage, quickly took off her clothes, and stood in the water. As she washed, she looked around.

She always felt that a blue-faced, fanged monster might suddenly emerge from somewhere.

Even when water got into her eyes, she didn't dare close them.

She quickly took a shower, ran back to her dormitory, and immediately crawled into bed.

"Are you seeing a ghost?" Zhao Wenjing looked at her sideways.

Li Meihua stared coldly at Zhao Wenjing for a few seconds, then turned and lay down in bed.

Her eyes were full of calculation.

A plan took shape in her mind.

Zhao Wenjing, I'm going to teach you a lesson!
