Chapter 47, the Right Demotion Chapter, is Here

The monk looked at Grandpa Bi with tears in his eyes.

"Captain, are you kidding me? I just got back, and you want me to march in formation? How am I supposed to walk like this?"

Grandpa Bi glanced at the martial monk, and to be honest, he was also helpless. Basic training is planned, and just because you missed a few days of training doesn't mean everyone has to go through it all over again with you.

"The marching should be alright, right?" Grandpa Bi himself wasn't too sure, after all, it was the first time he had ever seen someone with a torn anus and bleeding hemorrhoids marching.

"I'll give it a try then." The monk scratched his head awkwardly, but ultimately decided to give it a shot.

The goose-step is undoubtedly the most difficult yet most aesthetically pleasing movement in formation training. It is difficult to master because everyone's feet must be raised at the same height, which is also what makes it aesthetically pleasing. As long as the feet are raised in unison, it will look very good.

To help everyone practice marching properly, Grandpa Bi decided to have everyone bring the small stools they usually use in class.

Although it's called a stool, it's made of iron and weighs about three kilograms. As soon as the stool was brought over, the monk's face instantly darkened again.

"What the hell?! You're playing this high-stakes game?" The monk looked at the stool in his hand with a look of horror.

Wang Aiguo and the others were puzzled, so they asked, "Monk, do you know how to use this thing?"

"Is that even a question? It's the same principle as when we at Shaolin Temple make you carry water—tying a stool to your leg to train your leg raises!"

As soon as the monk finished speaking, Wang Aiguo and the others were completely stunned. Marching in formation was already tiring enough; adding a stool on top of that? Was this some kind of torture?

"No, this is corporal punishment! We can't back down, we must fight back!" Wang Aiguo stood up and raised his arms, shouting. "It's better to just kill him than to tie him to a stool and have him march in formation."

"Let's go argue with Grandpa Bi!" Wang Aiguo shouted.

"Okay." Huang Gang and the others also expressed their support, and thus the first "revolution" of Chenyang Recruit Camp began.

Wang Aiguo and his group walked downstairs in a grand procession, joined by many like-minded comrades along the way.

When he got downstairs, Wang Aiguo immediately spotted Grandpa Bi. The moment he saw Grandpa Bi, Wang Aiguo felt a little scared and was about to back down, but when he turned around and saw that there were already more than forty people gathered behind him, he immediately regained his confidence.

"Captain, I protest! You can't make us march with stools strapped to our backs! This is corporal punishment! We protest!"

Grandpa Bi looked at Wang Aiguo with a bewildered expression, while Jia Qu beside him also looked at Wang Aiguo with a strange gaze.

"Wait a minute, who told you to march in formation with stools strapped to your backs?" Jia Qu asked in confusion.

Upon hearing this, Wang Aiguo and the others were taken aback, and then everyone looked at the martial monk.

The last monk looked bewildered, and after a long pause, he scratched his head and said, "You made us bring stools down, wasn't it just to tie them to our legs and increase our load?"

"This is a recruit camp, not the Shaolin Temple. These stools are for you to use as a standard for the height you can lift your legs," Grandpa Bi said casually.

Everyone: "..."

The first revolution at Chenyang New Recruit Camp ended before it even began.

....

However, because of what happened this morning, Wang Aiguo and the martial monk were given special attention by Master Bi. Wang Aiguo was alright; although his physique wasn't great and he couldn't lift his legs very high, at least he was tall enough that kicking his foot to the height of a stool wasn't particularly difficult.

But the monk did something terrible; today he truly experienced what excruciating pain felt like.

At night, the monks, who had finally been able to lie down and sleep, returned to sleeping on their stomachs.

The martial monk lying face down on the bed and Wang Aiguo, half-dead and lying on the bed, were both groaning in pain at the same time.

"Has Grandpa Bi gone mad? My anus is already torn apart, and he still treats me like this!" the monk cursed.

Wang Aiguo stared blankly at the upper bunk bed and said indifferently, "So you finally admit that your anus is torn."

"What can I do if I don't admit it? Now the whole brigade knows I had a torn anus, okay?"

"Serves you right, you're such a moron." Wang Aiguo said irritably. If it weren't for the monk's cleverness today, he wouldn't have been messed up like this by Master Bi.

Xiao Tian had just finished showering when he saw the monk's posture and suddenly asked curiously, "Monk, seeing you in this posture, I'm suddenly curious, what would happen if someone had a circumcision and then had a hemorrhoid flare-up?"

"Hmm, this question is interesting!" Wang Aiguo, who was on his deathbed, suddenly sat up and looked at the martial monk with curiosity.

"How about you get a circumcision, Monk?" Xiao Tian said earnestly.

The monk was completely bewildered, having no idea why this topic had been brought up with him.

"Am I crazy? I'm going to get a circumcision just because of your weird assumptions?"

"You can't say it like that. This matter should be understood like this..." Wang Aiguo said as he walked to the monk's bed and sat down.

Before he could finish speaking, Xiao Tian heard a loud "boom".

"What's wrong? What happened?" Jia Qu rushed over in a flurry upon hearing the noise, only to find dust billowing everywhere as he entered. Amidst the dust, the martial monk lay on the floor, having passed his bed, looking pained.

Beside him was Wang Aiguo, who had also fallen through the bed board and landed on the ground, but whose legs were still hanging on the steel frame of the bed.

"What the hell have you guys done now?!" Jia Qu shouted in shock.

....

This incident solved two major problems at once. One was that the beds in the recruit camp were too old and could only support a maximum weight of 400 pounds. Once the weight exceeded 400 pounds, the bed boards would collapse.

Another question Xiaotian raised was about what sleeping position a person should adopt if they have hemorrhoids after circumcision.

When the monk fell off the bed, his groin hit a screw under the bed.

Although the screw wasn't fully inserted, it still scraped some of the skin, leaving the monk bleeding from both sides.

Then everyone got the answer: bleeding from both ends doesn't necessarily mean you have to sleep on your side. For example, the monk in martial arts sleeps on his stomach with his butt sticking out.

To be honest, this pose is a bit weird.

.........

After several days of commotion, Wang Aiguo and the others finally felt that things were returning to normal. But then one day in late September, a rumor started circulating in the village.

Legend has it that due to the aging facilities at Chenyang Recruit Camp, the authorities decided to fund the construction of a new battalion. All the new recruits would then move to the new battalion, while the original Chenyang Recruit Camp would be renovated and repurposed.

Wang Aiguo was shocked when he heard the news. Could a production brigade be built so easily? Wouldn't it take at least a year and a half?

Just as Wang Aiguo was asking a question in confusion, a figure appeared at the dormitory door and answered his question.

"Comrades, I'm back!" You Jiang shouted excitedly at the gate.
