Chapter 49 Eat More, Dry More

"Holy crap, what are you doing?" Halfway through the meeting, before Master Bi had even finished speaking and everyone was discussing the pros and cons, the martial monk turned his head and saw Wang Aiguo muttering to himself, looking like a madman.

"I can skip the 3,000-meter run and eat whatever I want, plus an extra dish. Isn't that wonderful?" Wang Aiguo was completely absorbed in his own world and didn't hear the monk's words at all.

Looking at Wang Aiguo, the monk felt a pang of emotion. He didn't know Wang Aiguo's family background, but judging from his physique, he guessed that Wang Aiguo had a powerful background.

And yet this pampered young master has now reached the point where he can eat rice casually and go crazy if he misses a 3,000-meter run. Thinking about it carefully, this military unit is truly terrifying.

"Okay, it's settled then," Grandpa Bi said calmly.

"Okay, it's settled then!" Wang Aiguo's eyes blazed with anger as he stood up and loudly supported Grandpa Bi.

And so, until October 8th, everyone began their "two-front" operation.

....

On the evening the meeting ended, Grandpa Bi looked at Wang Aiguo and suddenly felt that his decision that afternoon might have been somewhat hasty.

"Wang Aiguo, um, I need to talk to you about something. You need to lose weight, so you can't eat so much rice. The most important thing is, I'm worried you'll eat too much."

"Overeating is bad for your stomach." Grandpa Bi looked at Wang Aiguo, who had already started eating his sixth bowl of rice, and felt conflicted.

Although rice doesn't cost much, and the food expenses won't be exceeded because of it, the food cart only has a limited capacity, accommodating a maximum of five boxes of rice at a time. With Wang Aiguo eating half a box by himself, the rice suddenly seemed insufficient.

"Don't worry, Captain, I'm not full yet. I can eat two more bowls," Wang Aiguo said to Grandpa Bi while eating.

Grandpa Bi's expression was complicated. "You can still eat two more bowls? That's eight bowls of rice! Were you a glutton in your past life?"

"You can't do this. Eating so much is bad for your stomach. Starting tomorrow, you can eat no more than three bowls per meal. Don't eat more." Grandpa Bi said this and left, not giving Wang Aiguo a chance to argue.

Wang Aiguo was stunned at the time, but then he thought, "I can eat at most three bowls, but it didn't say how big the bowls are."

So the next day at noon, Wang Aiguo went to the canteen with a "rice bowl" in his hand.

Upon seeing the rice bowl in Wang Aiguo's hand, Grandpa Bi nearly fainted.

"Wang Aiguo, what are you holding?" Grandpa Bi yelled at Wang Aiguo.

Wang Aiguo looked at the bowl in his hand, and said with a blank expression, "My rice bowl!"

"What the hell do you call that a washbasin?" Grandpa Bi couldn't help but roar.

Wang Aiguo shrugged and said somewhat helplessly, "Captain, didn't you say I was only allowed to eat three bowls? I can eat three bowls with this bowl."

"I...I think I'll apply for a transfer to civilian work." Grandpa Bi closed his eyes in anguish, refusing to look at Wang Aiguo. He was afraid that if he looked any longer, he would suffer a heart attack and die.

.......

Seeing that it was almost impossible to get Wang Aiguo to eat less, Grandpa Bi could only make up for it by having him do more work.

The new battalion was right next to the Chenyang recruit camp. Because the camp was so large, all the recruits from the Chenyang recruit camp had to work there.

Although it's called "work," it's really just cleaning or moving tables, chairs, and beds. The new recruits aren't capable of installing toilets, televisions, or floor tiles.

However, in Grandpa Bi's opinion, none of these tasks were particularly tiring, because even moving the bed was something Wang Aiguo could carry by himself.

After much deliberation, Grandpa Bi finally found a job suitable for Wang Aiguo.

So one day before National Day, Wang Aiguo was taken by Grandpa Bi to a "small mountain" full of woven bags.

Accompanying Wang Aiguo were martial monks.

"You don't need to do any other work. Just deliver this yellow sand to the entrances of the various buildings these next few days," Grandpa Bi said happily to Wang Aiguo and the others.

Wang Aiguo and the martial monk looked up at the small mountain of woven bags and concluded that Grandpa Bi must have gone mad.

"Captain, have you considered that it might be impossible for me and the monks alone to handle so much sand?" Wang Aiguo said with a complicated expression.

Grandpa Bi smiled "kindly" at the two of them, then patted Wang Aiguo on the shoulder and said, "It's alright, take your time. You still have about ten days. Just make sure you finish moving before the National Day holiday."

Wang Aiguo chuckled at this moment. There were more than a thousand bags, and he still had to walk through the entire brigade. My name is Wang Aiguo, not Robert Bruce Banner!

Seeing the utterly hopeless looks on Wang Aiguo's and the monk's faces, Grandpa Bi felt that he might have gone a bit too far. So, after thinking for a moment, he called over another person.

Wang Aiguo and the martial monk were very familiar with each other; this man was You Jiang.

You Jiang was bewildered when Grandpa Bi called him over. Then he saw Wang Aiguo and the martial monk, who were also bewildered. The three of them looked at each other, not knowing what to say for a moment.

"Alright, the three of you can work together. I have something to do, so I'll be leaving now." After saying that, Grandpa Bi patted You Jiang's shoulder and left.

After Grandpa Bi left, the three of them looked at each other for a long time. Finally, Wang Aiguo shrugged and said, "Very well, it seems the three of us are now bound together; none of us can escape. So, let's make some arrangements, how should we proceed?"

"What else can we do? You two are 'Hulks,' and I'm just an 'Iron Man' without armor. Of course, you guys carry the load, and I'll just cheer you on!" You Jiang shamelessly uttered these words.

The monk rolled his eyes at You Jiang, but didn't say anything. Instead, he walked directly to the front of the woven bag and made a request.

"It weighs at least 80 pounds, and it's not easy to carry on your shoulders. So I suggest that the two of us work together to lift the woven bag onto our shoulders first, and then the person on the right can help from the side. Three people carrying one bag shouldn't be a problem."

"Alright, let's give it a try." Wang Aiguo thought for a moment. Since things had already come to this, he had no choice but to give it a try.

However, while the idea was appealing, Wang Aiguo discovered that the woven bag was really too heavy, and it seemed difficult for one person to carry it on their shoulder.

After much deliberation, the monk decided to use the pose he had seen at the construction site.

"Okay, I'll grab one corner of the woven bag first, then you and I will roll over together and put the bag on my shoulder. Then you can lean forward and carry the rest of the bag."

"Okay, let's give it a try." Wang Aiguo nodded; he understood the monk's plan.

So he and the monk walked up to a woven bag, grabbed it with both hands, and shouted, "1, 2, 3, let's go!"

The two rolled over at the same time, their movements perfectly synchronized.
