Lin Tinghan stood at the door, ringing the doorbell repeatedly with a blank expression, as if he wouldn't let go until the door was opened.

Si Nian asked through the monitor, "Why are you here?"

"I'm bringing you lunch."

Lin Tinghan held up a food packaging bag. "Open the door, Niannian."

Si Nian opened the door. "Why did you bring me lunch all of a sudden? I was planning to go out to eat with Shu Yi at noon."

"I had to queue for quite a while to buy the Fook Kee Archway that you liked."

Lin Tinghan handed the things in his hand to Si Nian, and then did not intend to leave immediately. Instead, he glanced around and walked in on his own.

"Where's your friend? Didn't Song Shuyi come over?" Lin Tinghan's gaze swept around.

The living room was empty.

He then turned his attention to the side-lying room behind the door.

"Call your friends out."

Si Nian frowned. "She doesn't want to come out right now."

Lin Tinghan stood at the door. He showed no intention of leaving.

He stared at Si Nian's lips, a half-smile on his face, and said, "Is it that you don't want to come out, or that it's inconvenient for you to come out? Is your friend male or female?"

Hearing his question, Si Nian finally realized that Lin Tinghan hadn't come to deliver food to her; he had come to ambush her.

He assumed that her hurried return to Yunjin Mansion was not to see Song Shuyi, but to meet with another man.

"You said it was Song Shuyi, and I know her, so of course I should meet her and say hello."
