Hunting 81: Gathering Goods in the Mountains, I Spoil My Ex-Wife to the Extreme

It didn't take long to get back from the supply and marketing cooperative. Before long, Director Liao and his tricycle stopped outside Hou Guifen's yard.

As soon as he entered, Director Dou saw that the courtyard was packed with villagers, several layers deep. Peering through the open windows, he could hear women sobbing and men cursing coming from inside. Director Dou's old face twitched several times involuntarily.

With so many people witnessing this, it won't be long before rumors spread throughout the entire commune. People will then talk about it over tea and after meals, saying that Zhou Xishun, who was having illicit affairs, was a purchasing agent for the supply and marketing cooperative. This will have a certain impact on the reputation of state-owned units like the supply and marketing cooperative.

However, since what's done is done and things have progressed to this point, there's no point in saying anything now.

"Director Liao, we've produced such a disgraceful scoundrel as Zhou Xishun in our supply and marketing cooperative. I'm sorry you had to see that."

Director Dou couldn't help but show a slightly embarrassed smile.

"Director Dou, let's go in and handle this matter properly, and give Comrade Li and his sister an explanation."

Director Liao pointed inside the house, and then led two police officers into the house.

A cold glint flashed in Director Dou's eyes, and he went inside with Li Yunshi shortly afterward.

The villagers who were crowding outside to watch the spectacle instinctively parted to the sides and made way for Director Liao and his entourage, who were dressed in police uniforms.

Director Liao and his entourage quickly entered the house.

After Director Liao and the others went inside, the villagers glanced inside and couldn't help but huddle together and mutter, "We didn't expect them to actually call the police and even bring the officers here."

"The one walking at the very front just now is Chief Liao from our commune's police station."

"Director Liao, I know him. He's a retired soldier, upright and incorruptible, and he never lets anyone break the law go unpunished. He's an excellent police officer. The improvement in public security in our commune over the past two years is all thanks to him."

"Zhou Xishun, the purchasing agent from the supply and marketing cooperative, and Widow Hou are in deep trouble this time. Even the police have come. They'll at least be convicted of hooliganism and thrown in jail for a few years."

"..."

Regardless of what the people outside were grumbling about, when Director Liao and Director Dou entered the house and saw Zhou Xishun wearing only a pair of underwear and Hou Guifen completely naked, especially after seeing that they were covered in injuries and had bruises all over their faces, they immediately turned their faces away.

"Put your clothes on first."

Director Liao looked down at his feet and said.

However, when Zhou Xishun and Hou Guifen saw that the police had actually arrived, their faces turned ashen.

When Zhou Xishun saw that the newly appointed Director Dou of the supply and marketing cooperative was also there, his heart sank instantly.

"Director, I...I..." Zhou Xishun tried to explain, but after stammering for a long time, he couldn't come up with a coherent explanation.

"Didn't you hear Director Liao tell you to put your clothes on first?" Director Dou looked down at his feet, but he almost said it through gritted teeth.

When he first took office at the supply and marketing cooperative, he discovered that there were problems with the cooperative's procurement. He never expected that Zhou Xishun, the procurement officer, was not only dishonest, but also had a dirty crotch.

Upon hearing Director Dou's words, Zhou Xishun glanced at Li Yunshan; he was truly terrified of being beaten by Li Yunshan.

Seeing that Li Yunshan was just standing there with his arms crossed and not saying a word, he hurriedly put on his clothes.

After putting on his clothes, Zhou Xishun finally felt warmer.

"Take Zhou Xishun and this woman to the station."

At that moment, Chief Liao gave an order, and the other two police officers each pulled out a pair of gleaming handcuffs.

"No, no, I don't want to go to the police station..."

"Officers, you can't arrest me! You can't handcuff me and take me to the police station!"

Upon seeing the two pairs of handcuffs, Zhou Xishun and Hou Guifen panicked immediately, trembling as they shrank into the corner, their faces filled with terror.

"Zhou Xishun, you are a married woman, yet you cheated on your wife with Hou Guifen, engaging in illicit sexual relations. If you don't go to the police station, who will?"

Director Liao glared at him and said sternly.

Then he gave a wink to the two policemen, who grabbed one of Zhou Xishun and Hou Guifen's wrists, unlocked the handcuffs, and prepared to cuff them.

Unexpectedly, Zhou Xishun and Hou Guifen, as if they had eaten the gall of a bear and the heart of a leopard, pushed away the police officers.

"I'm warning you, don't handcuff us or I'll beat you to death."

Zhou Xishun pointed at the two policemen.

"Resisting arrest and threatening police officers are considered aggravated offenses."

Despite his threats, the two police officers grabbed his wrists and twisted them, causing Zhou Xishun to turn pale with pain.

Then, the gleaming handcuffs cuffed Zhou Xishun's hands.

When Hou Guifen saw Zhou Xishun being handcuffed, she was terrified and had no choice but to cooperate obediently and let the police put handcuffs on her.

"Take them to the station first before we start the investigation."

Director Liao gave the instructions.

Then, two police officers escorted Zhou Xishun and Hou Guifen out of the house, and under the watchful eyes of a crowd of onlookers, they got into a sidecar motorcycle and left the village.

"Comrades, please come with me to the office."

Director Liao said.

None of the three, including Li Yunshan, had any objections.

Soon, they arrived at the police station. Chief Liao personally took Li Yunmei's statement. She recounted everything from how she discovered Zhou Xishun was having an affair, to how the conflict between the two broke out, and how Li Yunshan, Li Yunshi, and she followed him and went to his home to catch him in the act.

When Director Liao learned that Li Yunshan and Li Yunshi had discovered she was being abused by her husband, they braved the wind and snow overnight to come from the neighboring commune. He was greatly impressed: "It's rare to see such a good relationship between you siblings!"

After all, it was the dead of winter, the temperature was below zero, it was dark at night, and the roads were covered in snow. It was truly remarkable that someone could travel more than twenty miles from the neighboring commune to come here.

"But your brother's name is Li Yunshan, is he the Li Yunshan who killed the tiger in Guapigou Village?"

"Yes, that's my third brother."

Li Yunmei nodded.

"Alright, Comrade Li Yunmei, the statement is complete. You can go and discuss the divorce with Zhou Xishun now. We'll let you know if anything comes up later."

"Okay, thank you, Director Liao."

Li Yunmei thanked her and left.

When she went outside, she found that Li Yunshan and Li Yunshi had already finished giving their statements.

"Big brother, third brother, I need to go find Zhou Xishun to discuss a divorce."

……

After being arrested by the police and taken to the police station, Zhou Xishun was immediately locked in the interrogation room.

During this time, no police came to interrogate him, and no one asked him if he was hungry or needed to use the restroom.

So, more than an hour had passed, and Zhou Xishun's bladder was about to burst.

Finally, he couldn't resist any longer, and in the small interrogation room, he could hear a series of dripping water sounds.

Zhou Xishun couldn't hold it in and peed in his pants.

After emptying his bladder, Zhou Xishun breathed a long sigh of relief.

However, before he could recover, Li Yunshan and Li Yunmei came in. Li Yunmei was holding two pieces of paper with fresh handwriting on them.

Li Yunmei slapped two pieces of paper on the table in front of Zhou Xishun.

"Give me those two sheets of paper to wipe my butt?"

Upon seeing Li Yunmei, Zhou Xishun scoffed. In his eyes, Li Yunmei was just a country bumpkin who only got a good life after marrying him.

"This is a divorce agreement. As long as you sign it and my second sister completes the divorce procedures, we will have nothing to do with each other afterward."

Li Yunshan said calmly.

These two divorce agreements were written by Li Yunshan in advance after Li Yunmei had given her statement. The handwriting was strong and powerful, and the ink penetrated the paper.

"real?"

But Zhou Xishun's eyes lit up immediately upon hearing this.

He thought to himself, since Li Yunmei can't have children anyway, and things have already gotten this far, it's better to get a divorce sooner rather than later.

As long as this matter doesn't escalate, his position as a purchasing agent at the supply and marketing cooperative will be secure. With that status, plenty of women will be eager to marry him, and he can find another woman to marry sooner and have two big, healthy sons.

"Do you think it's fake?" Li Yunshan sneered, pointing at the divorce agreement on the table. "Sign it quickly, I don't have time to waste with you."

Now, all Li Yunshan is thinking about is getting Li Yunmei and Zhou Xishun divorced as soon as possible so he can bring his second sister home and never have to see that bastard Zhou Xishun again.

"Okay, I'll sign."

Zhou Xishun picked up the divorce agreement, thinking that as long as he signed it, he could leave this awful place, the police station.

However, when he saw the contents of the divorce agreement, Zhou Xishun's swollen face twitched.

The divorce agreement contained only four clauses, but the last three clauses were particularly scathing.

First, Zhou Xishun and Li Yunmei voluntarily divorced;

Second, of all the family's property, including cash and credit union deposits, totaling more than 880 yuan, 70% was transferred to Li Yunmei and the remainder to Zhou Xishun.

Third, Zhou Xishun intentionally beat and committed domestic violence against Li Yunmei, causing her to be injured and hospitalized. He should compensate her for hospitalization fees, medical expenses, mental distress damages, and lost wages, totaling RMB 220.

Fourth, Zhou Xishun voluntarily signed this document. If he later reneges on his decision, Zhou Xishun will bear all the consequences.

Upon seeing the contents of the divorce agreement, Zhou Xishun trembled with anger.

It's bad enough that 70% of the family's property went to Li Yunmei, but they also demanded compensation for her hospitalization fees, medical expenses, and some kind of mental distress damages.

And this is another 220 yuan in compensation? They're trying to empty my wallet!

"I won't sign."

Thinking of this, Zhou Xishun threw the divorce agreement aside.

"You won't sign? Then you can wait to be convicted of marital adultery and having illicit relationships, and go to jail."

Li Yunshan sneered. The initiative was now in their hands; Zhou Xishun had no choice.

Upon hearing that he would go to jail if he didn't sign, Zhou Xishun panicked.

"I'll sign, I'll sign."

He quickly grabbed the divorce agreement and pen, and signed the divorce agreement.
