I became a farmer in the apocalypse.

What are you babbling about?

She didn't quite understand. The "employee" was already on their way? Who was it?

How can the system directly select employees for her? What are its selection criteria? If she needs employees, wouldn't she find them herself?

There are plenty of people in this world who can't find work, but it's easy to find excellent employees. Chen Ye is a prime example. She sees that Chen Ye is quite efficient at his work, and if possible, she might consider hiring him long-term.

Moreover, the employee training guidelines seemed strange. She could understand providing food and accommodation, and she could understand creating a pleasant working environment, but what was this about buying wood-type nutrient solution? Jiang Li opened the system shop and searched everywhere but couldn't find any wood-type nutrient solution. Where was it?

If I can't find it, I won't look for it anymore.

Jiang Li continued hoeing the ground, and as she hoeed, she unearthed another piece of gold.

Pick up the gold coins, wash them clean, and put them in your money bag.

Yesterday I spent 10 gold coins, leaving me with only 3. Now I've dug up another one, making a total of 4.

Today's task:

After the beverage stalls and agricultural product shops open, the tasks will refresh daily, and the rewards are all gold coins. This is currently the main source of gold coins. You can reliably get 10 gold coins every day through these two sections, which is enough to buy a sapling every day.

Jiang Li could almost see a vast orchard beckoning to her; the future looked bright. Farming was indeed a promising path, and life was becoming more and more hopeful.

Thinking this, Jiang Li couldn't help but go over and tend to the apple tree again, causing it to grow another ten centimeters taller in an instant.

Planting trees is harder than planting vegetables, that's Jiang Li's intuitive feeling. The larger the plant, the more energy it requires. Smaller plants are easier to grow, like grass, which she can easily grow into a lawn with a wave of her hand.

Moreover, my energy levels seem a bit off lately; I feel like I have less energy these past few days, though I don't know if it's just my imagination.

After seeing Jiang Li pull the apple tree up a bit more, Lin An sat up from the lawn and looked at Jiang Li. "Do you think if you're no longer the only wood-type ability user, will the higher-ups cancel my mission?"

Jiang Li: "Were you thinking about this while you were lying on the ground?"

Lin An nodded. "Mm."

She is a max-level speed evolver. Someone like her would definitely be assigned to the front lines where she is most needed, unless absolutely necessary.

Unless there is something more important than the front lines.

Previously, Jiang Li was the only wood-type ability user. The base was not clear about the role and significance of wood-type ability users, so they sent her here. But now the situation has changed, and Jiang Li's uniqueness no longer exists.

"So what do you think the higher-ups will do?" Jiang Li asked her.

"They might send someone else to protect you, someone with a lower evolution level, and then send me back to the front lines."

After all, she originally belonged to the front lines.

Lin An felt this was the most likely scenario.

The thought of this made her feel terrible. Having gotten used to a life of eating big meals every day, she worried that she might not be able to adapt to the environment on the front lines.

"Stop thinking about it, go and till the land, till more land, and I'll plant more lawns," Jiang Li said.

Lin An turned his head away. "I'm not in the mood. I don't want to farm."

After saying that, he closed his eyes and lay down.

Jiang Li: "..."

This reminds me of Article 2 of the employee handbook:

2. Maintaining a positive attitude among employees is crucial for their work performance.

That's absolutely right.

Lin An had already slipped out of control, so Jiang Li had no choice but to push the small tiller herself to till the land, sowing grass seeds as she did so, letting them grow into a lawn. Wherever Jiang Li went, she left behind patches of green grass.

Lin An squinted at her, feeling that Jiang Li was like a walking green rag, leaving everything green wherever she went. Thinking this, he couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Jiang Tang knew what Lin An was laughing at, because when she looked at Jiang Li, she also felt that Jiang Li was like a rag.

Soon, people began to return from the dark alley in carts, carrying bamboo shoots and laughing and talking as they walked.

"I feel very safe today with the patrolling troops protecting me."

"I dug up several mutated bamboo shoots; each one can sell for dozens of points! I'm so lucky!"

"..."

Granny Li followed behind Ji Hong.

Yesterday, she wanted to buy mutated beast meat in the alley, but Ji Hong stopped her. Today, she used her last few points to take a bus out to dig bamboo shoots together.

At first, she didn't believe that bamboo shoots could be sold for money, but since she was already there, she started digging until she arrived at the farm.

Grandma Li looked around curiously and saw apple trees, lawns, potatoes and sweet potatoes all over the farm, as well as pumpkins, eggplants and other crops. They all looked to be growing very well. Some of the pumpkins seemed to be ready to be picked. They were huge, thicker than her waist, and bright yellow-orange.

"Is that pumpkin edible?"

Ji Hong glanced at it and laughed, "Of course it's edible. What's the point of growing it if it's inedible?"

Seeing Granny Li's puzzled expression, she explained, "The farmer is a wood-type ability user; she can cultivate even inedible plants."

Grandma Li nodded. "I see."

She followed Ji Hong to the machine and saw everyone pouring the bamboo shoots they had dug into it.

When it was her turn, she poured in as well, weighing a total of over 80 kilograms.

"112 points credited to your account."

Grandma Li's eyes widened as she looked at the points that had been deposited into her account. "You really earn points?"

112 points can buy two kilograms of grain.

There were still people queuing behind them.

Two people were holding a super-sized, mutated bamboo shoot, which looked like a colossal creature.

Fortunately, the machine has a large opening, so it can be inserted vertically.

The two of them worked together to throw a super giant bamboo shoot in.

Weight: 102 jin (approximately 51 catties).

"Wow, this one bamboo shoot weighs a hundred pounds! You guys are making a killing!"

After throwing the bamboo shoots into the machine, I waited for a long time, but the points didn't arrive.

"What happened?"

[Ornamental crop detected: Giant bamboo shoots!]

[Recycling Price: 1 Gold Coin]

A gold coin slowly fell from below the coin dispenser and landed on the ground.

A group of people stared at the gold coins lying on the ground, puzzled.

"What is this?"

Why did a gold coin fall out?

They want gold coins, but they have no use for them.

Ji Hong went to find Jiang Li, "Boss Jiang, your recycling machine seems to be broken."

broken?

Jiang Li's heart tightened, and she rushed over to check.

Her machine, worth 99999 points, can't just break down like this.
