Immortality: Starting with Plundering the Talents of Monsters

"It's coming."

Within his consciousness, a slender, elongated figure emerged.

After careful observation, it was discovered that its body was covered with dark red carapace, and its sickle-shaped forelimbs glowed with crimson firelight, raised high above its head.

"It's not a human... but a Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis at the fourth level of Qi Refining."

Logically speaking, it shouldn't be here.

The Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis is a bloodthirsty beast with considerable cultivation, found on Flowing Cloud Mountain.

However, this race of monsters lives deep in the mountains year-round and almost never comes down from the mountains on their own initiative.

Furthermore, the Golden Scale Lizard clan holds no value for the Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis.

There was absolutely no reason to come to the northern foot of Liuyun Mountain.

"They're here!"

Xu Mo didn't have time to delve into this issue.

Because the Crimson Flame Mantis had already flapped its wings and flew towards him.

Even if my spiritual power hasn't fully recovered, I have no choice but to bite the bullet and go for it.

Golden light swirled, and a sharp streak of light shot out.

At the same time, Xu Mo activated the [Golden Light], and a layer of golden shield formed, covering his body.

With a swing of its twin scythes, the Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis unleashed two fiery blades that, amidst flashes of fire, condensed and surged forth with intense heat.

A blade collided head-on with the stream of light, and the two dissipated.

The other blade slashed straight at Xu Mo's golden shield.

But it only caused the shield to vibrate violently for a few breaths before dissipating into the air.

The green-grade [Golden Light] is comparable to a first-tier low-grade exquisite Golden Light Talisman, and can withstand attacks from the fourth level of Qi Refining.

The attack from the Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis landed on the golden shield, making it relatively easy to defend against.

"My [Golden Light] talent can temporarily withstand the attacks of the fourth level of Qi Refining, but like the high-quality Golden Light Talisman, it can't withstand more than a few hits."

Moreover, my spiritual power is insufficient to sustain the [Golden Light] talent until the end of the battle.

Xu Mo casually tossed out three water arrow talismans, and a large amount of Geng metal spiritual power surged out of his body, gathering at his fingertips.

The water arrow talisman was activated, condensing into three water arrows in the air, which struck the Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis.

Meanwhile, the golden light, under the cover of the three water arrows, followed closely behind.

Facing the three water arrows, the Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis neither dodged nor evaded, but simply stood firmly in place, its wings flapping rapidly behind it, its entire body turning crimson.

It slowly raised its forelimbs, and a burst of sparks suddenly rose from the two rows of sharp, sickle-shaped blades.

Then, the spark grew larger and larger, eventually reaching a length of three feet.

The Crimson Scythe Mantis wrapped its forelimbs around its chest, forming a cross shape, and then slashed downwards fiercely.

Crimson red like blood, intertwined with flames.

The air became unbearably hot, and the lush green grass swayed and changed in the waves of heat, making this small patch of forest stand out.

In an instant, an even more solid and larger crimson flame blade descended like a waterfall, coming fiercely and pressing down.

Before it even made contact with the three water arrows, the terrifying heat wave attached to them evaporated all the water arrows.

"Whoa!"

Xu Mo's throat bobbed, and he was secretly alarmed.

"The Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis's move is way too overpowered; it actually evaporated all three water arrows."

However, Xu Mo also possesses such powerful techniques.

The water arrows dissipated, and golden light appeared.

With the support of abundant Geng metal spiritual power and [Sharp Metal Breath], golden light flowed.

Its speed is like a meteor chasing the moon, and its momentum is like a lightning bolt.

In the brief moment between the collision and evaporation of the crimson blade and the water arrow, it had already struck first, rushing forward and hitting the crimson scythe mantis with a single blow.

Pfft!

A piercing explosion rang out, and the Crimson Flame Mantis's entire head took a solid hit, instantly turning into a cloud of blood mist.

The Crimson Flame Mantis died, leaving only half of its body lying beneath the blood mist.

Xu Mo, anticipating the worst, mobilized his Geng metal spiritual power to prematurely unleash the [Golden Light].

A solid, golden shield appeared out of thin air, surrounded by dazzling light.

The cross-shaped crimson flames were forcefully intercepted.

But the golden shield shattered and dissipated.

Furthermore, Xu Mo's spiritual energy was almost completely drained as a result.

Xu Mo exhaled a heavy breath, feeling slightly unsteady on his feet, his whole body feeling light and airy.

He quickly took out a low-grade spirit stone, held it tightly in his palm, and absorbed its spiritual energy to recover.

"This is what it feels like to be almost out of spiritual energy. How pathetic..."

[Plunderable Talents: Fire Scythe Blade (Green), Emberfire Bones (Green)]

The gilded jade talisman was activated and appeared before my eyes.

As wisps of spiritual energy flowed into his body, Xu Mo looked up, his gaze shifting back and forth between the two talents.

At this moment, the gilded jade talisman trembled slightly, and each small character swam up the talisman like tadpoles.

The effects of both talents are manifested and transformed on the jade talisman.

The talent [Fire Scythe Condensation Blade] is the main attack method of the Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis.

That is, the crimson flame blade that it repeatedly condenses and unleashes from the twin scythes.

And the effect of the talent [Ember Flame Burns Bones].

After the [Fire Scythe Blade] strikes an enemy, some of the residual flames will spread and penetrate from the wound, continuously burning the bones.

Once hit by this attack, one needs to expend a large amount of spiritual energy to fight it in order to extinguish the flames that have entered the body.

"Fortunately, I wasn't hurt by the Crimson Flame Mantis's flames, otherwise [Ember Flame Burns Bones] would have made me suffer unbearable pain."

Upon learning the effects of the two talents, Xu Mo felt a chill run down his spine, but a moment later, joy welled up in his heart.

"As expected of the stronger Crimson Flame Scythe Mantis, its two talents complement each other perfectly, making it extremely difficult to deal with."

Such fierce and domineering talent should be put to my use!

With a thought in mind, he ultimately chose to plunder the [Fire Scythe Condensed Blade].

The reason is simple: without the [Fire Scythe Condensation Blade], he couldn't even condense the Crimson Flame Blade.

You need to have the [Fire Scythe Blade] first before you can use 'Ember Fire' to 'Bone Burning'.

"We've plundered another powerful talent that excels in killing, which increases our chances of defeating Steward Sun even further."

Moreover, this talent is fire magic, which can be used to conceal traces of metal magic, reducing the probability of suspicion falling on me.

The night was deep, and the crescent moon, as thin as a blade, hung high in the sky, growing ever brighter.

Streaks of silvery-white light, like fluttering snowflakes, fell softly through the dense foliage onto Xu Mo.

The clear, bright moonlight made the white robe worn by the boy appear slightly less impressive.

He was exhausted, both mentally and physically.

"Let's rest for a bit, and continue hunting adult golden lizards when it gets light."

The fierce battle between the two Qi Refining Level 4 cultivators had already startled the Golden Scale Lizards, causing them to scatter and flee.

Xu Mo felt a weight lift off his shoulders and slowly sat down, closing his eyes and sitting cross-legged.

By absorbing the spiritual energy from spirit stones, one can quickly restore their spiritual power.

"After killing the Golden Scale Lizard, it'll be the turn of that Steward Sun who embezzled my spirit stones..."
