Border Prisoner: The Mad Boss Seduces Her Every Night
Chapter 110 Assassination
Southeast Asia has never been peaceful, and Yu Baoying has encountered many local thugs and gangsters; she's almost used to it.
Yu Baoying tossed down her shopping bag and casually ripped a clothesline pole from the wall. It was made of iron and felt heavy in her hand.
She gripped the pole with one hand, the tip pointing at the bald man, her posture swift and decisive.
"Lulu, back off. Find a chance to run."
Shi Luyu knew she couldn't hold anyone back at a time like this, so she took two steps back and turned to face the other side—
Unexpectedly, several more people emerged from the other end of the alley, blocking their escape route.
The bald man laughed, twirling his switchblade in his hand. "Little sister, why are you running away? Let's play together."
He took a step forward.
Yu Baoying swung the clothesline pole swiftly and accurately, the tip striking the bald man's forearm with a dull thud.
The knife in the bald man's hand flew out, bounced on the ground, and rolled away with a clatter. He clutched his arm, his face changing color: "Damn, that woman..."
Yu Baoying didn't give him a chance to finish cursing; she swept the pole horizontally, hitting him in the ribs.
The bald man stumbled and bumped into the wall, clutching his back and cursing as he called for help. The rest of the people rushed over.
Shi Luyu bent down and picked up the switchblade from the ground, holding it in her hand. The blade was a bit dull, and it didn't feel good to hold, but it was better than empty-handed.
She retreated to the wall, her back pressed against it. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw someone grab Yu Baoying's clothesline, and another person lunge at her from the side. Yu Baoying released the pole and kicked the man in the knee.
"Lulu! Run!"
Shi Luyu ran two steps toward the alley entrance when a man rushed out from the side, holding a short stick and smashing it down on her head.
She dodged to the side without serious injury; the stick grazed her ear before hitting the wall, sending brick dust cascading down. She thrust her switchblade forward, the tip slicing across the man's arm—not deeply, but enough to make him recoil.
More people rushed towards her.
Yu Baoying rushed up from behind, grabbed the nearest person by the collar and pulled him backward, then slammed her knee into his lower back.
The man bent down, and Yu Baoying kicked another one over. She was panting, her hair was disheveled, and a few strands hung down beside her face.
"What's going on?" She frowned as she watched the group get up from the ground and rush towards Shi Luyu. "It seems like they're all coming for you, Lulu."
"I felt the same way, it wasn't just my imagination!" Shi Luyu hurriedly pulled her phone out of her pocket, but just as her thumb touched the screen, a hand reached out from the side and slapped her phone away.
The phone fell to the ground and the screen shattered.
Before she could even look up, Yu Baoying had already grabbed her wrist and pulled her behind her.
Yu Baoying's breathing became heavier, and her punches and kicks slowed down. No matter how good she was at fighting, she was still alone, while there were more than ten people on the other side.
Shi Luyu gripped the switchblade tightly, standing beside Yu Baoying. Her self-defense skills were only enough to deal with one person, but her hand didn't tremble.
"Boom!!"
Suddenly, the roar of an engine came from the alley entrance, and the blinding headlights shone straight in, making everyone unable to open their eyes.
The car door opened, and Xu Yuanjia stepped out from the light.
His leather jacket was undone, blown back by the night wind, revealing a white T-shirt underneath. His face was expressionless, his eyes scanning the people in the alley as if counting them.
Cheng Ye followed behind him, his sports jacket already off and tossed aside beside the car. He cracked his knuckles.
The bald man snatched a large machete from one of his men and lunged at Xu Yuanjia.
Xu Yuanjia stepped to the side, and the bald man rushed past him, missing his target. Without turning around, Xu Yuanjia swung his arm back and slammed his elbow into the back of the bald man's head.
With a thud, the bald man collapsed to the ground, face down, and didn't move again.
Cheng Ye's actions were more direct. A man swung a stick at him; he raised his hand, grabbed the stick, and pulled forward, causing the man's face to collide with his shoulder. He released the stick and landed his fist on the man's stomach, once, twice. The man curled up like a shrimp and slid to the ground.
The remaining few people exchanged glances and rushed forward together.
Xu Yuanjia walked unhurriedly toward the first person, raised his arm, grabbed the other person's wrist holding the knife with his five fingers, and twisted it in the opposite direction.
The sound of dislocated joints was clear and piercing in the alley. The man screamed and knelt down. Xu Yuanjia released his wrist, then slammed his knee into the man's chest, sending him flying and crashing into the wall.
The second man attacked from the side, but before his fist could even touch Xu Yuanjia's shoulder, Xu grabbed it and shoved and pulled him forward, dislocating the man's arm, which hung limply at his sides. Before the scream even finished, Xu Yuanjia had already turned to the third man, his movements as fluid as a well-choreographed, elegant waltz.
Cheng Ye's side also finished quickly. His punches were heavy and dense, each one landing on the most vulnerable spots, such as the Adam's apple, temples, and ribs.
Ten or twenty seconds passed. People lay sprawled on the ground, groans rising and falling.
"Brother, Cheng Ye, are you alright?" Shi Luyu stood against the wall, still holding the switchblade in her hand, her knuckles white.
Her gaze swept over the people on the ground and then suddenly stopped.
One of the men's sleeves rolled up during the fight, revealing a tattoo on the inside of his forearm.
A black, coiled snake with eagle claws emerging from its belly. She had seen this pattern before… in every corner connected to Master Jia.
"This pattern..." Shi Luyu's voice trembled, "...is the Xu family's pattern."
She suddenly raised her voice: "Master Jia!"
"It must be because we escaped right under Master Jia's nose last time. He's been holding a grudge against me ever since, so he sent someone to kill me..."
Yu Baoying leaned against the wall, rubbing her wrist which was numb from the shock. She glanced at the tattoo and said, "Hey, no, this design has branches. The tattoo belongs to one of Old Master Xu's men. Your husband's emblem is—"
Before she could finish speaking, Xu Yuanjia's gaze was already filled with death. A hand quickly reached out from behind Yu Baoying and covered her mouth.
Cheng Ye moved quickly and accurately, grabbing her waist with his other hand and dragging her away from the alley.
Yu Baoying struggled in dissatisfaction, making muffled "mmm" sounds. Cheng Ye leaned down and whispered something in her ear, and she quieted down.
As she was being dragged away, her eyes were still fixed on Xu Yuanjia's direction, filled with anger, confusion, and an inexplicable unease.
The alleyway quieted down.
Shi Luyu looked at Xu Yuanjia. He stood under the dim streetlights, a few dark stains on his leather jacket, perhaps someone else's blood. His expression was not good; his brows were furrowed, and there was no smile on his lips.
"Brother," she called him, "you're one of Master Jia's men, right? Why is this Master Jia keeping bothering us? When will I be able to get rid of him?"
Xu Yuanjia walked over, took the switchblade from her hand, and threw it on the ground.
He reached out and cupped her face in his hand, which was free of blood, his thumb wiping away a speck of ash that had rubbed against her cheekbone.
"Hmm." These people were sent by the master to assassinate her, but he couldn't explain it to her and could only accept it reluctantly.
"Brother will protect you." His voice was low, his expression somber, as if something was stuck in his chest, something he couldn't spit out or swallow.
