Shi Luyu was held in Xu Yuanjia's arms, and three teeth marks were lined up in a crooked line on her forearm, neck, and below her collarbone.

The tingling pain from being repeatedly bitten penetrated her skin, making her nose sting and tears fall.

She turned her face away, not wanting Xu Yuanjia, that wicked man, to see her.

Xu Yuanjia looked down and saw the tears clinging to her eyelashes. He smiled. He reached out and pulled her into his arms, resting his chin on the top of her head and patting her back gently. "You've been crying?"

Shi Luyu choked back tears as she lifted her head from his embrace. "I'm a man of my word," she said, her voice soft and slightly hoarse. "I don't deny it."

Xu Yuanjia looked at her stubborn expression, and the corners of his mouth slowly curved into a smile. He rested his chin on her shoulder, his voice soft and tinged with pleasure: "Yes, my darling is the most trustworthy."

He held her and gently swayed her. Shi Luyu's tears smeared on his collar, leaving a small, dark, damp stain.

She sniffled several times, and her sobs gradually subsided.

She leaned against him, her fingers unconsciously clutching the fabric of his shirt. After a while, she reached out and touched the long rabbit ear on his cheekbone with her fingertips.

"You have lipstick on your face," she said, her voice still hoarse from crying.

"Um."

"The little flower is drawn crooked."

"Um."

"The rabbit's ears are uneven, one long and one short."

Xu Yuanjia reached out and used his fingertips to wipe away the crookedly drawn rabbit. The red paste smeared on his fingertips, like a small smear of blood. He didn't wipe away the red, but instead used his thumb to dab it lightly on the tip of her nose.

Shi Luyu was stunned.

He looked at the red mark on the tip of her nose and smiled.

That smile was one she had never seen on his face before; it was clean and pure.

"Now it's fair," he said.

Shi Luyu burst into laughter through her tears and reached out to wipe the smeared red on his face, but the more she wiped, the more messy it became, with the lipstick smeared from his cheekbone to the end of his eyebrow.

She frowned anxiously, moved closer to him, and rubbed her fingertips against his skin.

Xu Yuanjia let her do as she pleased, only looking down at her with his eyelashes slightly lowered and the smile in his eyes growing deeper.

She wiped for a while and realized it was getting worse, so she simply pulled her hand back, buried her face in his chest, and muttered, "Never mind."

Xu Yuanjia lowered his head, his lips brushing against the top of her head, his breath warm as he spoke: "Never mind? Then your brother will just go out like this."

She didn't wipe away the red mark on Shi Luyu's nose. She reached out and wiped the red mark on his face to the side, saying earnestly, "It looks better this way."

Xu Yuanjia grasped her mischievous hand, interlocked his fingers with hers, and pressed her hand against his heart.

Shi Luyu's palm pressed against his heartbeat, steady and strong.

He lowered his head, his forehead touching hers, the tip of his nose brushing against hers.

"Wow, your heart is beating so fast."

He said.

Shi Luyu pulled her hand back and turned her face away: "No, I didn't."

Xu Yuanjia chose not to expose her, but simply pulled her back into his arms and closed his eyes.

The Phuket sunshine is still captured in the camera, but Shi Luyu and Xu Yuanjia have already returned to the rainy season in Thailand and Mai.

In the first week after the holiday, the whole city felt like it had been doused with buckets of water. Every morning the sky was gray and gloomy, and by the afternoon the rain would come.

Shi Luyu's canvas shoes were soaked, and they were lined up on the balcony to dry, looking like a few rabbits with drooping ears.

Xu Yuanjia offered to buy her new ones, but she said no, just let them air dry. He didn't insist, but the next day, her shoe cabinet had ten pairs of beautiful, expensive luxury brand rain boots that fit perfectly.

The last class that afternoon was a documentary appreciation class.

The classroom curtains were drawn tightly shut, and the projector light cast a bluish glow on everyone's faces.

Ten minutes before get out of class ended, it suddenly got dark outside the window, with dark clouds looming overhead.

Someone in the classroom looked up and muttered, "It's going to pour."

No sooner had he finished speaking than the rain began to pelt down, making a loud pattering sound.

When the bell rang, the entrance to the teaching building was already packed with people. Shi Luyu stood under the porch, holding the printed materials distributed in class that day, and looked up at the sky.

The water on the school path was already above her ankles. She took out her phone from her bag and sent a message to Xu Yuanjia: "Brother, it's raining, and I didn't bring an umbrella."
