Border Prisoner: The Mad Boss Seduces Her Every Night
Chapter 121 Let's Go to Bed
The next day, Shi Luyu ran into Xu Jia. He was standing at the end of the teaching building corridor, holding a stack of homework books. When he saw Shi Luyu come out of the classroom, he paused for a moment, but still walked over.
"Lulu, how have you been lately?" His voice was soft, with his usual gentle tone.
His gentleness emanated from his very bones, clean and without any impurities.
Before Shi Luyu could answer, someone appeared in her peripheral vision.
Xu Yuanjia walked over from the other end of the corridor.
He was wearing a light blue sweatshirt today, without a hood, and his hair was slightly messy from the wind in the corridor.
Xu Yuanjia stopped about five steps away from the two of them, leaned against the wall, one hand in his pocket and the other holding his phone, looking down at the screen, his posture as lazy as if he were just passing by.
But Shi Luyu knew he wasn't just passing by.
His eyelashes remained lowered, but she could sense that his attention was entirely focused in that direction.
He is waiting.
Let her choose.
Xu Jia also saw Xu Yuanjia.
His gaze shifted from Xu Yuanjia to Shi Luyu's face. There was no urging or tension; he simply watched her quietly, as if waiting for her to make a decision.
"If you need anything, you can come to me," Xu Jia said.
Shi Luyu remained silent for a few seconds.
A breeze blew through the corridor, rustling the palm leaves outside the window. She looked up at Xu Jia, a small, apologetic smile curving her lips—a smile that would soften anyone's heart.
"Thank you, Teaching Assistant Xu." Her voice wasn't loud, but it was clear. "But I have something to do, so I'll ask my brother first."
After saying that, she turned around and walked towards Xu Yuanjia. When she reached him, she reached out and took his hand, which was hanging by his side.
The man's fingers were cool, with distinct knuckles, and felt like an unsheathed knife when held in the palm.
She simply held it gently, as if making a silent promise.
Xu Yuanjia looked down at her holding his hand, then looked up at her again. His eyes were churning with emotions, as deep and intense as the sea before a storm, calm on the surface but turbulent beneath.
But his expression remained lazy, with a faint, ambiguous smile playing on his lips.
Shi Luyu turned to Xu Jia and said "thank you," then took Xu Yuanjia's hand and left.
Xu Yuanjia was being led by her hand, his fingers loosely resting in her palm, as if he might pull them away at any moment.
The two walked out of the teaching building, across the school path, and down to the camphor tree. Shi Luyu secretly glanced at him; his profile was blurred by the interplay of light and shadow in the tree's shade, making his expression unreadable.
She suddenly let go of his hand.
Xu Yuanjia paused for a moment.
He turned his head to look at her, raising an eyebrow slightly. Shi Luyu grasped it again.
Xu Yuanjia's lips slowly curved into a smile, a hint of pleasure gleaming in the corners of his eyes.
"Your hands are so cold," he said casually, but his fingers tightened.
Shi Luyu gripped his hand a little tighter.
The two walked along the school path, the shadows of the camphor trees falling on them, dappled and mottled. Xu Yuanjia tightened his grip on her fingers, so tightly she couldn't break free.
"If you loosen your grip any further, I won't let you hold my hand anymore." His voice was lazy, yet threatening.
Shi Luyu pursed her lips, gently rubbed her fingers against his palm, and did not let go.
In the evening, the two walked home from school. As they passed a small alley, Shi Luyu saw a cluster of unknown wildflowers blooming on the wall, their purple-red color making them look vibrant in the setting sun.
She stopped and looked for two seconds, and Xu Yuanjia also stopped and followed her gaze.
"Do you like it?" he asked.
Shi Luyu shook her head, smiled, and led him on as they continued walking.
The setting sun cast long shadows of the two of them, overlapping and inseparable. Shi Luyu walked on his left, the side closer to the road. He reached out and pulled her to his right, then let go and put his hand in his pocket.
Shi Luyu reached out to touch his hand. He deliberately curled his fingers so that her fingertips wouldn't touch it.
The little girl reached out twice but couldn't reach it, so she lowered her head and slowly curled her fingers back to her side.
She walked beside him, head down, looking at her toes, and said nothing.
Xu Yuanjia caught a glimpse of her dejected expression out of the corner of his eye, and a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. A soft spot in his heart had been touched, a bitter, indescribable ache spreading through him.
He walked a few more steps with a tense expression, then turned to look at her:
"What's wrong?"
Shi Luyu raised her head and whispered, "I want to hold my brother's hand."
Xu Yuanjia looked down at her. Her eyes held the light of the setting sun, a soft, orange-gold color, like melting sugar.
"You've remembered to hold hands now?" His tone was still indifferent, but the last syllable rose slightly.
Shi Luyu blushed slightly at his words, lowered her head, and gently hooked two fingers around his sleeve. She hooked it so lightly that it would fall off with a pull.
"Then can I pull up your sleeve first?" Her voice was very soft.
Xu Yuanjia stood there, the setting sun falling on his shoulders, casting a half-light and half-shadow on his profile.
He finally took his hand out of his pocket, palm up, and laid it out in front of her.
Shi Luyu's eyes lit up immediately, and she quickly put her hand on it.
……
After dinner, Shi Luyu put the dishes in the dishwasher. Xu Yuanjia leaned against the door frame, holding a glass of water as he watched her.
She was wearing his white T-shirt, the hem of which reached mid-thigh, and the sleeves were rolled up several times, revealing a slender, white wrist.
Her hair was tied into a bun, with a few stray strands hanging down beside her ears, slightly curled by the heat of the kitchen.
She placed the last bowl, dried her hands, turned around, and found Xu Yuanjia still standing there. His gaze was fixed on her, as deep and unfathomable as a bottomless pool.
"What are you looking at?" She felt a little uncomfortable being stared at.
Xu Yuanjia did not answer, took a sip of water, and his Adam's apple bobbed.
Shi Luyu walked up to him and looked up at him.
Her eyes reflected the kitchen light, like two stars washed clean by water.
"Brother," she called to him.
"Um."
She paused for a long time, then suddenly said—
"Let's go to bed."
The glass of water in Xu Yuanjia's hand wobbled, spilling a small amount onto the back of his hand. He looked at her, his expression unchanged, but his pupils contracted slightly.
"What did you say?" His voice was a little hoarse.
Shi Luyu's face turned red from the base of her neck to the tips of her ears. But she didn't flinch, nor did she bury her face in his chest like she used to.
She looked into his eyes and repeated each word carefully.
"I said, let's go to bed. Tonight." She paused, her voice lowering slightly, "I'll take the initiative."
Xu Yuanjia placed the water glass on the table next to him, reached out and pinched her chin, pressing his thumb against her lower lip.
"Do you know what you're saying?" His voice was low, his meaning unspoken.
Shi Luyu nodded. "I understand."
"No regrets?"
No regrets.
Xu Yuanjia stared at her for a few seconds, then smiled.
That was the pleasure of a man being pushed to his limit. He lowered his head, forehead to forehead, nose to nose, their breaths mingling, warm air brushing against each other's faces.
"Goodness, this time you said it yourself. Once you've made the decision... it'll be hard to back down."
Shi Luyu closed her eyes, stood on tiptoe, and pressed her lips to his.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, ran her fingers through the hair at the back of his head, and gently pressed.
Xu Yuanjia's breathing instantly became heavier.
His hand slid from her chin to the back of her neck, clasped it, and deepened the kiss.
The kitchen light was still on, and the faucet wasn't turned off properly, so water dripped into the stainless steel sink, making a crisp sound.
