Border Prisoner: The Mad Boss Seduces Her Every Night
Chapter 159 Xu Yuanjia, Never to Be Seen Again
Shi Luyu looked at Xu Wenzhou, and Xu Wenzhou looked at her.
The two sides were only an arm's length apart, yet it felt as if they were separated by an invisible river.
"I need your help." Shi Luyu's voice was low, and every word was clearly spoken. "Xu Yuanjia is holding my parents in Myanmar, restricting my personal freedom. He wants to force me to marry him."
"I tried calling the police, but they wouldn't take the case. I tried to escape, but the entire city's borders were in his hands. I know it's dramatic, but that's the truth."
Xu Wenzhou crossed his arms and gave a cold laugh. His laugh contained disdain, defensiveness, and a sharp edge born of youthful indignation at being offended.
"What does your marriage to Xu Yuanjia have to do with us?" he repeated, a mocking smile playing on his lips.
"Or did he send you to test whether my brother and I have any ulterior motives? If we believe you, won't he get rid of us?"
His gaze swept across her face, as if searching for a flaw. "You think I'd fall for that?"
"Brother." Xu Qining peeked out from behind Xu Wenzhou.
She was almost a head shorter than Shi Luyu. Looking at Shi Luyu, her eyes brightened with a youthful sense of justice, and without hesitation, she said…
"Sister, I believe you! Xu Yuanjia is a bad person! How could he treat you like this? He's gone too far, much worse than he treated us."
Xu Wenzhou suddenly reached out and pulled his sister behind him. "Shut up."
He lowered his voice, his tone stern, but his gaze remained fixed on Shi Luyu. "So? What do you want to say? What do you want to do?"
Shi Luyu did not back down. She met his gaze, her voice so calm that even she was surprised:
"I need your help to get me out of here."
Xu Wenzhou scoffed:
"What's in it for us? If he finds out, not only will you die, but he'll drag us both down with you. Do you think we'd risk our lives for a complete stranger?"
Shi Luyu remained silent for a moment.
She had no confidence, no bargaining chips, nothing to offer in exchange. But just now, in a corner of the banquet hall, she had witnessed what the brother and sister were doing—
A cleaning lady overturned a food cart, leaving broken porcelain and stains all over the floor. Several uniformed staff members surrounded her and scolded her.
Xu Qining rushed over and squatted down to help her pick up the broken porcelain shards. Xu Wenzhou stood in front of the aunt and coldly said to the staff, "She didn't do it on purpose. Put the compensation on my tab."
She looked at Xu Wenzhou and softened her voice: "I know your Xu family is not short of money. But I just saw you standing up for a cleaning lady in the hallway, so I bet you are upright and kind people, unlike Xu Yuanjia."
"I can cooperate with you to expose Xu Yuanjia's murders and crimes in Southeast Asia."
"Isn't that why you all hate him?"
Xu Wenzhou's brow twitched slightly.
He turned to look at his sister, Xu Qining, who was looking up at him with undisguised expectation in her eyes.
He turned back to look at Shi Luyu, the hostility in his eyes receding slightly, but not completely disappearing.
He didn't agree, pulled Xu Qining around, and walked away quickly without looking back.
Xu Qining was pulled a few steps by him, and couldn't help but look back at Shi Luyu, her lips moving slightly.
Shi Luyu stood in the corridor, watching their figures disappear around the corner.
The lights were buzzing above her head. She looked down at her hands; her fingers were still trembling slightly.
She had no choice but to take a deep breath and turn back.
A waiter near the banquet hall saw her and quickly came to greet her: "Madam, you're back? Let me take you back to your suite to rest."
She nodded and followed him into the elevator.
As the elevator doors closed behind her, she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes.
The top-floor corridor was quiet; the carpet absorbed all footsteps.
After escorting her to this floor, the waiter was not allowed to set foot there. He bowed slightly and said, "Madam, please rest. Please press the bell if you need anything."
As she was about to walk towards the door, she heard the sound of two people's footsteps coming from the corridor.
She slipped to the corner of the wall and peeked out—
Two men in hotel uniforms emerged from the presidential suite, pushing a dark gray trolley.
A dark-colored waterproof tarpaulin covered the car, with the edges of the fabric hanging down, concealing the contents of the car.
The two men walked very steadily, each step firm and solid, unlike ordinary staff members.
She took a step back.
As the two men pushed the cart to the elevator, the alarm in the corridor suddenly went off.
A sharp, continuous screech came from the speakers on the ceiling, and the red emergency lights began to rotate, cutting the entire corridor into alternating segments of light and shadow.
Hurried footsteps came from downstairs, and several security guards in black combat uniforms rushed up the stairs. The sound from their earpieces could still be heard from a distance.
"A bomb has infiltrated! It's aimed at Master Jia! The bomb is hidden in their cart, go after them!"
The two men pushing the carts changed their expressions, turned around, and pushed the carts into the elevator.
Taking advantage of the chaos in the corridor, Shi Luyu bent down and slipped into the elevator.
Under the cover of the alarm, they crawled into the bottom compartment of the cart.
A tarpaulin hung down, covering her body. She curled up in the narrow space, her hands bracing against the cold metal plate, too afraid to move.
The sound of the elevator doors closing came from outside, followed by a feeling of weightlessness as it plummeted downwards.
"The bomb has been planted in Xu Yuanjia's room." A man's voice came from outside the tarpaulin, tinged with suppressed urgency.
"Why are we still pushing this cart? We might as well just throw it away."
Another voice replied, "Fool. Our goal is to successfully kill him."
"We were pushing the cart around to make them think the bomb was still in the cart, to lure them over so they would ignore the room."
"As long as we get out of here, tomorrow morning the headline in Taimai will be that the new head of the Xu family was blown up in his own suite."
The first voice rang out again: "How are we going to escape while pushing this cart?"
Another person said, "The underground waste disposal station has a special entrance for burying garbage. We'll dump the car there and climb out through that."
Shi Luyu curled up in the car, the words falling from above her head, each one hitting her eardrums.
A bomb. Xu Yuanjia's room.
She held her phone; the screen was still lit, displaying the contact name "Xu Yuanjia."
She looked at it for two seconds, then flipped the phone over, screen down, and held it face down in her hand.
The elevator has reached the bottom.
The cart was pushed out, its wheels rolling over the uneven ground, causing it to bounce violently.
Her forehead hit the side wall; she flinched but didn't make a sound. It was dark outside, with only the emergency lights casting a dim red glow in the corner.
The two men pushed the cart for a while, then suddenly stopped: "Damn—there's someone guarding the landfill."
The first voice tightened, "When did the Xu family's army arrive in the underground level?"
"Never mind that, let's get out of here! Leave the car here, we'll go the other way." The footsteps hurried away and were quickly swallowed by the darkness.
Shi Luyu waited for a while, and when she heard no movement, she carefully climbed out of the car.
She braced her hands on the edge of the cart, her knees hitting the metal plate, causing her to grit her teeth in pain.
The basement was dark, with only a few emergency lights casting a dim red glow in the corners.
She crouched low, groping her way along the wall into the shadows. After only a few steps, a flashlight beam swept across from a side passage—
Two men in black combat uniforms were walking in this direction.
She stumbled back a step, her back slamming against the wall.
Just then, a hand reached out from the shadows, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her into a narrow crevice.
It was a recessed corner where miscellaneous items were piled up, with several stacks of cardboard boxes blocking the way, just enough to hide two people.
Xu Qining's face flashed briefly as the flashlight beam swept across it. She lowered her voice, her lips almost touching Shi Luyu's ear: "Don't make a sound."
The flashlight beam swept past through the narrow gap, and the footsteps faded into the distance. Xu Qining released her wrist, took a half step back, and looked at her by the dim red emergency light.
Her eyes were bright, with a reckless fervor:
"Sister, I'll help you escape."
Her voice wasn't loud, but it was firm: "I've disliked Xu Yuanjia for a long time. A person like him doesn't deserve anyone's affection."
"Any girl can tell from the way he treats you that it's not love, it's just a mad dog taking over its territory."
Shi Luyu looked at her, a strange feeling rising in her throat. She nodded, her voice a little hoarse: "There's martial law now, how do we get there?"
"There's a hole in the wall behind the kitchen."
Xu Qining reached out and grabbed her wrist, leading her through the corridor filled with clutter. After several twists and turns, they pushed open an iron door, and a cold wind rushed in.
Several empty oil drums and unopened bags of flour were piled up in the yard. The moonlight shone on the bluish-gray cement ground, casting long shadows of the two people.
Xu Qining squatted down, parted a clump of withered vines in the corner of the wall, and revealed a hole about half a person's height.
The bricks and stones were loose, and the mortar at the edges had fallen off, just enough for a person to squeeze through.
"There's a vegetable purchasing truck parked outside," Xu Qining said in a low voice.
"I've already arranged a driver. He'll take you to the next city. Once you get there, you'll have to figure out the rest of the journey yourself."
Shi Luyu squatted in front of the cave entrance and looked back at her.
Xu Qining stood in the moonlight, her light pink skirt swaying gently in the night breeze, her pearl handbag still clutched in her hand, looking out of place in this dilapidated backyard.
"Your brother won't agree to you doing this," Shi Luyu said.
Xu Qining smiled brightly: "Brother doesn't know. Go now, bye-bye... It would be best if we never saw each other again."
Shi Luyu crawled out of the cave and landed on the ground on the other side.
The vegetable purchasing truck's engine was already running, its headlights on, cutting two white beams of light through the night fog.
As she opened the car door and got in, she glanced back. Xu Qining had already stood up and was bending down to push the vines back into place at the entrance of the hole.
The moonlight fell on her shoulders, casting her small shadow on the wall behind her.
The car started.
Shi Luyu leaned back in her seat, her phone still clutched in her hand, the screen lit up.
The three characters "Xu Yuanjia" glowed with a cold, white light in the darkness. She stared at them for a long time, then typed a line:
"One last thing, there's a bomb in the room. Evil deeds always have consequences, so be careful next time!"
She pressed send and threw the phone out of the car window.
The phone flew through the air in an arc before landing in a roadside pond and sinking with a plop.
The night wind blew in through the car window, making her hair fly backward.
I have done all I could, Xu Yuanjia. Goodbye forever!
