In the fourth month, He Duoye went to the hospital for a thorough check-up. He can now live a normal life, as long as he pays a little attention and avoids excessive exercise.

So Lin Mian decided to take He Duoye back to China three days later.

Having lived in the little white house for several months, Lin Mian had developed a strong attachment to it.

In the chicken coop next to them, the eight hens eventually became four. He Duoye had his men kill four of them intermittently, and in the end, they were all stewed into chicken soup.

There were four left. They ate two of them, leaving two for the others to handle.

Next to the house was a vegetable garden that Lin Mian had personally cleared with a hoe, but unfortunately she had no talent for growing vegetables. Even following the tutorial, she could only barely grow a few stunted seedlings.

The small river shrimp, on the other hand, are thriving. Now, you can easily catch quite a few and deep-fry them into a dish.

It was a pity they were leaving, but Lin Mian wasn't too sad this time because He Duoye said he could come back whenever he wanted, since this whole area belonged to him anyway.

Although Lin Mian liked the environment near the White House, she didn't like places outside the White House. Perhaps one day in the future, she would come back with He Duoye to reminisce about the war-torn years.

But now, Lin Mian still wants to take He Duoye to a safe place to live a good life.

On the day they left, it was Li Mingshao and that taciturn bull who saw them off at the airport.

Before parting, Li Mingshao waved and said to Lin Mian, "I saw my sister-in-law abroad."

Lin Mian found it a bit strange, so Li Mingshao took the initiative to explain: "I'm immigrating soon too, but I guess we'll meet again in the future."

At 11:00 AM, the plane took off on time.

As the plane ascended, there was a slight turbulence and a feeling of G-force. Lin Mian instinctively grabbed He Duoye's hand. He turned his head to look at her and asked, "Are you scared?"

Lin Mian shook her head and looked out the window.

As the plane climbed higher, the cities, fields, and forests of Myanmar became increasingly distant.

Lin Mian said, "I'm a little happy."

They finally left together, and would never be apart again.

He Duoye tightened his grip on Lin Mian's hand and hummed in agreement. Lin Mian looked out the window, and he looked at her, slowly saying, "I'm quite happy too."

Perhaps it was because they were in a good mood, or perhaps it was because they were in first class, that even the airplane food tasted better.

Upon landing, He Duoye had spent a long time going through the immigration process due to his nationality issue. After being taken back by his father, he was forcibly given a new nationality not long after.

Finally out of the airport, Lin Mian took out her phone to call a car.

She and Meili's two-bedroom apartment was still under lease, so she could move in with He Duoye and then find time to visit her aunt and uncle if they were willing to meet He Duoye.

But He Duoye took Lin Mian's phone, changed the address, and handed it back: "Go here first."

Lin Mian looked down and saw it was the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Her heart started racing uncontrollably. He Duoye took her hand and said, "I've prepared all the information."

During his recovery period, he had thoroughly understood the procedures and required documents, and had even changed his nationality. Now everything was ready; all Lin Mian needed to do was go with him to register.

There weren't many people in the Civil Affairs Bureau for Foreign Affairs. The two of them dragged their suitcases and went to the side to take photos with a red background.

Lin Mian spent a while fixing her travel-worn hair in front of the mirror. When she looked up, she saw He Duoye also adjusting his collar. Seeing her looking up, He Duoye reached out and adjusted Lin Mian's collar as well.

He said, "You don't need to stare at me like that, it'll be yours soon."

Lin Mian said, "Anyway, they're all mine, what's wrong with taking a look?"

He Duoye smiled and said, "Then feel free to look around."

When taking photos, because He Duoye was too close, the photographer kept gesturing for him to move a little further away, and also told him not to lean to one side, but to just tilt his head slightly.

They quickly received the photos with a red background and went to register.

Because He Duoye had prepared all the necessary documents, they obtained their red marriage certificate very smoothly.

Lin Mian took her own certificate, looked at it, and felt a sense of unreal success. So she closed the red certificate, then opened it again to look at it, and it was indeed real.

Lin Mian looked up and found that He Duoye was also staring at the marriage certificate, just like her.

Their eyes met, and they instinctively smiled at each other.

Two seconds later, Lin Mian realized that what they were doing was a bit silly, so she quickly rubbed her nose and looked away.

"Today is a good day," Lin Mian said. "Let's find a restaurant later and have a nice meal."

He Duoye took her hand and walked out: "We'll eat tomorrow. Now, take me to see where you're staying."

They had two huge suitcases, which made it inconvenient for them to go to the restaurant, so Lin Mian agreed.

The two took a taxi directly to the residential area.

The room was still as she and Meili had left in a hurry. The uneaten takeout had been cleaned up, but the fruit on the coffee table had rotted and molded, turning into a puddle of black liquid.

There was a musty smell in the room, and a thin layer of dust covered the furniture.

Lin Mian put down her suitcase and was about to open the window when He Duoye grabbed her waist, picked her up, and carried her directly to Lin Mian's bedroom.

Seeing this, Lin Mian immediately struggled, "No, no, let me go!"

He Duoye pushed the door open with his foot: "What's wrong? You were fine last night, weren't you?"

He just can't overdo it right now, but he can still do some slightly strenuous exercise.

Just as she was about to be placed on the bed, Lin Mian suddenly exerted her strength, twisted her body, and clung to He Duoye using both her hands and feet: "Because the house hasn't been cleaned for more than four months, and the sheets haven't been changed, you dare to put me on it and see what happens!"

A bed sheet that hasn't been slept on for four months will definitely kick up a cloud of dust the moment you lie down on it.

He Duoye sighed and stopped. "Shall we go get a hotel room?"

Lin Mian grabbed his hair: "No, we need to do a big clean now, so put me down right away."

He Duoye could only put the person down, and then Lin Mian directed him to open the window, clean the coffee table, and mop the floor.

Lin Mian changed the sheets, opened the refrigerator, threw away the moldy things inside, and wiped it clean inside and out.

By the time we finished cleaning up, it was dark, and we were hungry.

Lin Mian ordered takeout, and after taking a shower, she and He Duoye sat cross-legged on the floor and ate at the coffee table.

Biting her spoon, Lin Mian couldn't help but look up at He Duoye beside her. She had eaten with him many times during this period, but today's meal felt particularly different.

It made Lin Mian feel familiar, nostalgic, and somewhat happy.

He Duoye had already quickly finished half a bowl of rice. He put a piece of pork rib into Lin Mian's bowl and said, "Stop looking at me, wife, hurry up and eat. After you finish, let's get down to business."
