Pure Love Imprisoned: My Ex-Boyfriend, Who Blamed Me, Imprisoned Me in Love
Chapter 77 I Don't Want to Do That Kind of Things
"Where have you been all this time?" the uncle finally asked. "Are you alright? Were you hurt or anything...?"
"I'm fine." Lin Mian raised her face, smiled, and said in a relaxed tone, "I wasn't sold, I wasn't injured, I'm perfectly fine."
The uncle stared intently at the screen. Lin Mian in the phone picture had a rosy complexion, her hair was neatly combed, and the background was bright, clean, and elegant.
He felt a little relieved and asked, "Where are you now? Do you want me to come pick you up and take you home?"
"No need, I'm fine now." Lin Mian looked up at He Duoye standing beside her, and became nervous. "Um... I..."
"What's wrong?" Her uncle was even more anxious than she was. "What has happened to you lately? If you're having any difficulties, you must tell your uncle. Don't hide it from us."
"It's nothing, it's just that He Duoye and I got back together." Lin Mian said in one breath, turning the phone camera around to face the tall man next to her.
He Duoye was already waiting. He was much more composed and calm than Lin Mian. He bent down and snuggled close to Lin Mian's face, smiling as he said, "Uncle, it's been a long time."
The uncle stared in disbelief at the man on the screen.
He Duoye said, "I ran into Mianmian when she was traveling abroad. I had always regretted breaking up with her, so when I met her again, I tried to win her back."
Lin Mian couldn't help but look at him, almost unable to hide the shock in her eyes.
He Duoye took Lin Mian's hand and said seriously, "Uncle, don't worry, I will take good care of her. After I finish my work, I will come back with her to see you."
The uncle closed his jaw, which had almost dropped, and stammered, "Du Ye...you...you've been abroad these past few years?"
"Yes, I've been staying abroad the whole time," He Duoye confessed, "doing a little business."
Lin Mian remained silent: "..."
They chatted for half an hour, checking on each other's recent situations. Lin Mian also met her aunt who had just returned. She had indeed lost a lot of weight, and she cried as soon as she saw Lin Mian. When she saw He Duoye, who had reconciled with Lin Mian, she was just like her uncle, so frightened that her crying became stammering.
When He Duoye came downstairs, his aunt finally felt comfortable asking, "Mianmian, where's Zhang Zhiwen who was with you? You and Duoye are back together, so what about him?"
Lin Mian had no choice but to bite the bullet and say, "I don't know, I got separated from him... Hasn't he come back yet?"
Auntie said worriedly, "No, his parents are extremely worried too. His mother's hair has turned white from worry."
Lin Mian was feeling down, but she didn't know what else to say.
"Mianmian..." her uncle suddenly spoke, his voice low as he quietly asked, "What's going on between you and He Duoye? He seems so different..."
Lin Mian became uncomfortable: "So you got back together?"
The uncle pressed further, "He said he's doing business abroad, but what kind of business is it? Is it legitimate?"
My aunt also said, "When you broke up, he just disappeared without a word, without even giving you a reason..."
Lin Mian was embarrassed because she had broken up with him in a fit of anger, but she hadn't told her uncle and the others much. She only said that He Duoye had disappeared after the breakup and might be dead.
The aunt and uncle imagined that He Duoye, a scumbag, had dumped Lin Mian.
There were many details that Lin Mian couldn't explain, and He Duoye was about to come up from downstairs. Lin Mian didn't want him to hear these things, nor did she want her aunt and uncle to suspect him.
She simply preemptively declared, "I'm going to marry him."
The uncle and aunt fell silent instantly, their eyes widening in shock.
Lin Mian's face flushed slightly, but she still said, "I'll explain it to you in detail when we get back."
My uncle asked, "Have you thought it through?"
Lin Mian nodded: "Mm."
He added, "I've thought it through very clearly."
The uncle and aunt both quieted down, and the three of them suddenly fell silent, separated by their phone screens.
Lin Mian knew in her heart that her uncle and aunt might not agree. Perhaps they were worried, or perhaps they felt that Lin Mian's decision was impulsive, but after all, they were not Lin Mian's parents.
They care about Lin Mian, but they can't really question or restrain her like they would their own child.
There was still a layer of politeness between them.
My aunt broke the silence first: "Does your father know?"
Lin Mian didn't care about his thoughts, and guessed that her father felt the same way, not caring who she married. She said, "I'll talk to him about it later."
The video ends with the reminders to "take care of your health" and "take good care of yourself."
Lin Mian stared blankly at the slowly blacking-out screen of her phone.
Footsteps sounded behind her. It was He Duoye, who placed a plate of freshly washed strawberries next to Lin Mian and asked, "Finished the video call?"
Lin Mian nodded, sniffed, and said in a slightly hoarse voice, "My aunt has lost a lot of weight. I should have contacted them sooner."
If I let you know I'm safe and sound sooner, my aunt and uncle won't worry so much.
He Duoye picked up Lin Mian and let her sit in his lap: "It's not too late now."
Lin Mian leaned listlessly against his shoulder, thought for a while, and then asked, "Didn't you see Zhang Zhiwen off?"
He Duoye said in a lukewarm tone, "I just let him go, I didn't say I would take him home. He couldn't go back, it's his own fault for being incompetent and a coward."
Lin Mian: "..."
Okay, that's true.
She fiddled with He Duoye's shirt buttons, paused for a moment, and said in a low voice, "Did you hear everything I said to my uncle and the others afterward?"
She was referring to the lines about marriage.
He Duoye: "Hmm."
Two sounds of satisfaction and a touch of pride.
Lin Mian grabbed his buttons: "Since you've heard everything, I'll be blunt. If you break your promise or cheat on me later, I'll stab you to death."
He Duoye: "If you're so worried, why don't you put a chastity belt on me?"
Lin Mian actually had a picture in her mind: "..."
He Duoye continued, "I think it's fine. What style do you like?"
Lin Mian: "I'll lock it on your head."
"That won't do, I'll lose face if someone sees us." He Duoye asked her cheekily, "How about matching couple's sets?"
Lin Mian's thoughts were completely diverted by him, and she punched him in the chest: "You wear it yourself, I don't want to do that kind of thing."
She tried to leave, but He Duoye grabbed her around the waist and they argued and fought for a while, which made Lin Mian feel much better, though she wasn't as depressed as before.
She was supposed to return to the manor in the afternoon, but after thinking about it, she didn't go back.
As a result, she suffered greatly that night. He Duoye also held her accountable for what she hadn't done the night before. In the end, Lin Mian knelt on the bed, unable to even curse because He Duoye's fingers were stuffed in her mouth.
It was very late when we finished.
After cleaning up the messy floor, He Duoye glanced at the messages on his phone, and his cheerful expression gradually faded.
He sat on the edge of the bed, holding his phone, his face expressionless as he thought about the contents of the text message.
He didn't know how much time had passed, maybe just a short while, when he felt a warmth on his back. Lin Mian had woken up at some point and her limp body was lying on top of him.
"What's wrong?" she asked groggily. "Why aren't you asleep yet?"
He Duoye snapped out of his emotions and turned around to hug Lin Mian.
The girl's body was soft and warm, and she had a warm fragrance. He Duoye lowered his head to smell her, and then couldn't help but bite her cheek.
He successfully received a slap from Lin Mian.
"Don't bite my face." She was really exhausted, completely drained of energy, otherwise she would have gotten up and fought him back and forth.
He Duoye chuckled, pulled her into his arms, and stopped bothering her.
He was still not sleepy, his mind still preoccupied with the text message and his future plans, but his mood wasn't as bad as it had been before.
He touched Lin Mian's slender back and felt only peace.
